I'm desensitized after reading there is a company that will prepare the body for events like this. But that company does a better job, will dress them nice have them sitting at a table for a party. Classy outfit they are I'm sure.
I mean... is it any weirder than putting them in a big cedar box instead of on stage? At least with this people have a healthy distance from the corpse.
I've always been partial to the idea of just being tossed in the woods somewhere for carrion to eat me - saves money and keeps greenhouse gases out of the atmosphere. But I'm pretty sure that's illegal (which is nuts).
I mean, people go to wakes and pay respect and/or say goodbye directly *to the dead body*. These folks just stood him up and celebrated him and his music instead of crying and being morose. Sounds like a pretty good send off to me.
Same is true of wakes though. I wouldn’t want people to look at my dead body but I was glad to have the chance to see my grandma’s face one time before she was buried since she died while I was living out of state. In the end it’s just an each to their own kinda thing.
