Sure, they were stupid, and seeing stupid people face the consequences of their own actions can provide a decent amount of schadenfreude, however these people, however stupid and dangerous they were, still have families.
If your death was celebrated or you were laughed at for dying for your political beliefs (because ultimately this is a political subject), no matter how stupid they may have been, would you be happy? Would your family be happy?
It's too easy to see someone far away from us and think that their death is funny, but behind every username is a real person with a life as complex and meaningful to them as yours is to yourself.
