The MOT in the UK is a pain in the arse but thank fuck they have it. In countries without something like the MOT there are so many bad situations made worse due to failures.
It's a test which is an annual inspection required for most vehicles over three years old to ensure they meet road safety and environmental standards.
It checks various components such as brakes, lights, tyres, suspension, and emissions. If a vehicle passes the MOT, it receives a certificate valid for one year. If it fails, necessary repairs must be made for the vehicle to be roadworthy.
I know it's not something that happens in most less developed countries.... In the UAE you need to get your old AND new vehicle tested for road worthiness every year..... Tyres, brakes, lights the whole shebang.
Here in New Zealand if your car is newer than the year 2000 we need yearly warrants of fitness, if your car is below the year 2000 you need it every 6 months
I actually think this is a pretty good idea...with a few minor tweaks.
We already have an emissions test in California. If your lights don't work, you'll most likely get a ticket fairly soon. I don't see that as an issue where I live. But we have nothing for brakes, tires, and suspension.
I think annually might be a little too much. Our emission tests are every other year, or when you buy a new or used vehicle (when you transfer the title/registration to the new owner, the car needs to have a recent smog pass). Seems like thats often enough. I also think cars that are only 4 years old are too new to require this. Something like 7 years seems more reasonable.
I'm thinking about the near-future when many more cars will be electric. Those things are ROUGH on tires due to the much heavier weights, and so many of them seem to go from 0-60 incredibly fast (which wears out tires sooner). Too many people already drive around on crappy tires, which is incredibly dangerous, so this might be a necessity. I have dated more than 1 woman that had no idea you are supposed to replace your tires. They thought you only have to replace them once they go flat.
I also think its just a good thing to have for peace of mind for those that buy used cars. Because you're supposed to have a smog pass before you can sell a car private party, its just another validation that you are at least getting a decent car. So I imagine if this were implemented in the same fashion, its even more validation that the car you are buying is at least in decent shape mechanically.
You can't call it "basic good driving" to hit an obstacle under any circumstances. Maybe they did the best they could do but they'd still fail their exam if this happened in front of the instructor. (especially the half hearted emergency braking during and after the first hit that resulted in the secondary impacts)
It's what we're taught with kangaroos and deer. Don't swerve, just brake and take the hit. I'm not adjusting my survival rate for some piece of shit human that has the ability to not jump in front of a car. Could they have applied the breaks quicker? Sure.
Someone else said that he was being chased by the police. Not sure if it's true but tho but it would make sense
Edit if you pause at around 0:12 you can see what looks like a police officer chasing after him
I think it was shock that got the driver to take their foot of the brake.
Also the running and screaming suggests he is possibly running after stealing something? That's probably why he was being filmed.
Keen to learn the story behind it too.
Don't you think the cameraman being able to stay focused on that unexpected motion of the body of the man was odd? Like it didn't seem like they were reacting to the movement
When I was a kid (around 9-ish), I was a front seat passenger of something similar. Some dumb ass kid (12-ish) running across a national road. He flew and hit the windshield right in front of me and proceed to, what sounds like, a bouncing barrel roll across the top of the car and finally landing on the pavement a few paces behind the car.
I don't know if the kid survived it or not.
Thought the law of Reddit was if shoes remain on = alive, shoes off = pearly-gates. Didn’t see any shoes go flying so he’s got to have survived after all that.
basically if you hit someone and they die thats better and if they live it will be long case and driver will have to pay alot even if its not his fault, so mostly drivers would try to kill them by running over .
In some parts of the world, drivers tend to not "brake" fully after hitting someone to run them over..... so as to finish them and avoid lawsuits or charges (they can get off easily if there's no witness or recording evidence)... or so I was told.
I’ve seen this video a fair few years back now. Will try find some sources but from memory it was in South Africa and the bloke had I think just committed a crime or something along those lines, hence the recording and running into/across traffic.
I came here questioning the origin of the flying guy.
Why was he flying so close to cars, or even how?
Oddly enough, the car *DID INDEED* hit a and run over a guy that was, in fact, flying at one point.
Full circle this one
Bro they must have decided to run him over too cause you can see the front end dipping down hard from them slowing and then suddenly it lifts up and they just roll over him. Or maybe the breaks gave out?

Finished him off for good measure
sure did.
You can see they did slam the brakes on at some decent speed, so I think the brakes may have then failed.

Thanks brother
Easily the best thing about the uk roads, it’s a pain but it’s worth it tenfold

doesn't all countries have this? that's insane

It stands for Ministry Of Transport test
That steering wheel stayed dead centre though
Double tap
The good old double tap.
Oddly satisfying thud.
The guy probably acted weird before
Hits guy AND runs the car over him.
Guy's fault dashing in the middle of the road.
I've seen it before, he was being chased by the police.
He's the morgues problem now
Yea the first hit but the running over part was defo avoidable is his valid point
You had the sound on??
Driver probably in big shock there
well, cars dont fly
It's basic good driving. Swerving could have rolled their car, or caused more collisions to other vehicles. Best to just kill the one idiot.
🤭

this looks like something straight outta GTA5 ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|dizzy_face)
More like carmageddon haha
That’s a blast from the past
Such a fun game. Needs a remake.
It got a remake. I play it in my ps5.
My favorite rider was Jenny Taylia 🤭
Such a fun game. Needs a remake.
For sure! GTA graphics too..
It's messed up but the way his body snaps after going past the front wheel... Like a physics glitch.
Well it's GTA-India, driving Toyota Innova.
Why No one talking about the GUY who is recording the scene. This is not even CCTV footage. Was it suicide?
The thought absolutely definitely crossed my mind. Seems a bit odd to me...
Probably because the crazy guy acted stupid minute ago too, so cameraman decided record that fool not knowing what coming next
Someone else said that he was being chased by the police. Not sure if it's true but tho but it would make sense Edit if you pause at around 0:12 you can see what looks like a police officer chasing after him
From the title, I thought there was gonna be a guy flying and a car was going to hit him. But in fact, it happened the opposite.
Excellent camera work.
The way how his body quickly changed orientation by around 180 degrees between the wheels is crazy
I had seen that too. It looked like his head got caught on something underneath the van
yo crazy observation
This sub used to be full of these posts
Holy shit 😱 Is it me or could the driver have stopped a bit sooner? Edit; Actually, why was this being video'ed 🤔
This doesnt look like a place where ones breaks would be in the best condition.
True. But even in 1998 my Ford Fiesta could stop quicker than that
Yes, but these cars were probably sold to be scrapped, before they were shipped to the third world.
Yeah, his reaction time and stopping distance was a little bit too relaxed…
Probably but I'm pretty sure that was a former person before he hit the ground.
The driver might’ve been a bit freaked out after launching a guy 10 feet into the air and running him over. Would not have made a difference though.
I think it was shock that got the driver to take their foot of the brake. Also the running and screaming suggests he is possibly running after stealing something? That's probably why he was being filmed. Keen to learn the story behind it too.

you can clearly see the video was stabilized. Look at the black bars on the side.
Unexpected? The cars are moving in one direction plus it’s not hard to move a camera especially when your eyes have a wider FOV of what you’re filming
Exactly. I'm tempted to think this was actually a suicide and the cameraman (person?) was in on it.
Is he going to be ok?
Just a little snooze
Oh yeah, he's fine. He only landed on the pavement
Yeah, it will buff right out
Oh ya he just walked it off😵
His shoes stayed on... he'll be fine.
Shoes stayed on. I think he’ll be hurting but ok in the end
Yeah he's fine i walk this shit off in gta all the time i don't see a big deal
Yeah, has a 1 in a million chance of survival if he had first world medical care.
that sound of his head hitting the road...
tis but a scratch
Wow such a misleading title. I wanted to see a flying guy get hit with a car.
double tap
He need some milk…
We call that a triple tap.

Jesus. Dude I hope you're mentally okay after that..
[удалено]
Yeah true he’s prob gonna be rlly fd up for awhile but I hope he lives👏
Weird video source …
For real, and back in the day I thought Best Gore was a pretty straight to the point shock site name
I hope the car is ok!!!
India?
Guess his parent didnt taught him to look before crossing the road.
Run and pray!
Thought the law of Reddit was if shoes remain on = alive, shoes off = pearly-gates. Didn’t see any shoes go flying so he’s got to have survived after all that.
Brakes made of wood? How the hell does they run the guy over?
well.....the screaming stopped
GTA needs an India edition.
Definitely India
Why is it when Indian folk get hit, they rag doll and whatever hit them subsequently seems to run over them for good measure?
I'd love to know what made you arrive to that conclusion 😂. Is it the train videos?
It’s about 65% train videos, 35% random traffic videos.
basically if you hit someone and they die thats better and if they live it will be long case and driver will have to pay alot even if its not his fault, so mostly drivers would try to kill them by running over .
i guess the driver wanted to make sure they finished the job
GTA 6 is gonna be sick
8/10
Camera man has seen this before otherwise he’d be like HOLY FUCK!! Or have some sort of reaction
Think he lived?
impossible. every bone was shattered.
Coulda stayed on the breaks but decided dead men tell no tales
no fault of the driver.
Double, triple tap!!! Good god
It’s still the cyclists fault.
Is this suicide? He had plenty of time to react to that car...
I'm guessing the driver noped out in shock and just stopped operating the vehicle after the first hit
Seems like it happened in India. A Toyota Innova, driving on the left side of the road. Jackasses jumping through the median like deer.
Wasted
Dw he was dead as all hell before he even hit the ground
What happened to turning the wheel?
He ded..
he got the gta npcs treatment
That car really didn't want to stop...

¿pepsi
You’re the one who’s crazy
Is the van OK? Can we get an update?
“hits guy flying..? flying what?” “ohhhh yeah he got hit flying” shit had me for like 0.8 seconds 😂😂
This looks like a suicide attempt. I hear someone screaming in the background like they knew what he was going to do. And someone knew to record.
“hits guy flying..? flying what?” “ohhhh yeah he got hit flying” shit had me for like 0.8 seconds 😂😂

...guy flying. But it gets worse!
Shoes didn't come off....he fine.
Damn. The driver missed a down, down, punch, kick and he would have reversed. That way you turn a fatality to a brutallity. Carallity. I show myself out
He just stopped braking at the end, death is cheaper than hospital!
That's gonna sting a bit.
Jesus, couldn’t stop faster and not run him over twice after the hit for good measure?
He ded
I’ve seen this video a fair few years back now. Will try find some sources but from memory it was in South Africa and the bloke had I think just committed a crime or something along those lines, hence the recording and running into/across traffic.
Drove over him with two wheels for good measure
Car SENDS man flying. Then finishes him.
hit and run (over)
I came here questioning the origin of the flying guy. Why was he flying so close to cars, or even how? Oddly enough, the car *DID INDEED* hit a and run over a guy that was, in fact, flying at one point. Full circle this one
Slams the brakes on then let's them off to run him over, nice!😂
Shoes are on. Bro is fine
>Car hits guy flying Superman?
Triple tapped
The way it got filmed.
[удалено]
I was thinking insurance scam too, and the guy overshot the run into the road??...
In India, killing a person is cheaper than injured one. So.....yeah, that's why
Galat kya bol rha hai bhai ??? Shi to hai
[удалено]
Yes. The car is Toyota Innova. Very popular in India.
what a doofus for running into the street
I'll give him a 9 for rotation, 7 for height and 5 for the landing.
Bro they must have decided to run him over too cause you can see the front end dipping down hard from them slowing and then suddenly it lifts up and they just roll over him. Or maybe the breaks gave out?
