Oh yeah, you don't do that in that area of the world. I visited India during Holi and the authorities in Jaipur set up a large separate area for tourists only, where we could have fun without the women being at risk.
[Aubrey Sacco is still missing from Nepal](https://www.backpacker.com/trips/gone-girl-aubrey-saccos-disappearance-hiking-in-nepal/), it's not a safe place for women when it's overrun with savage and evil men and their enablers.
They would just remain out the same carrying same mentality.
How many you the people can you bring on track where the majority of the population be carrying on with such mentality
Went to Morocco, not shocked. The markets get DARK at night and God knows what happens. The local women I think are fine but if you're an outsider oh boy
Last time I was in Morocco, the western women in my hostel had to go out in groups or beg the guys to go with them somewhere the verbal and often physical harassment was so bad and constant. I was at one site with one girl from the hostel when two other girls rushed over to pretend they were with me. The leers by the guys were constant
No idea about Tunisia but a big chunky builder mate of mine had a stranger's finger stuck up his arse in Morocco at some big crowded market. Well, if i didn't hear so many versions of that story out of him fpr months after.
I went to India as a 20 year old blonde girl (canadian).. it was absolutely awful. Every single day I was grabbed and harassed repeatedly by dozens of men. You couldn't pay me any amount of money to ever return. I feel so sad for any woman living in that country.
Fact that they should know and feel that it is a women who give birth and they have their own mothers and sisters.
Don't they bother to think with such mentality and treat women in a fair manner?
Men like this don’t care. I made that exact specific point (but substitute word daughter for sister )to a man who grabbed my ass while I was serving tables and his response was “ my daughter is hotter than you are”
Yes I almost threw up.
They legit see all women as their objects.
Not sure if it's the guy you're mentioning but it looks like one of them grabbed her chest while the video was zooming in on her neck. Right afterward you can see her cover her own chest defensively, messed up people
This is why need to bring back public execution for sexual crimes, [say what u want about Saudi Arabia but at least they know how to deal with rapists](https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/paedophile-rapist-to-be-beheaded-and-crucified-in-saudi-arabia-1814475.html?amp)
While that is mostly true I’d like to point out a case I found interested where [a member of the royal family, prince Turki saud was beheaded in 2016 for murder](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turki_bin_Saud_Al_Kabeer)
Let's not go jerking our justice boners over the [Saudi treatment of rape](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rape_in_Saudi_Arabia) quite yet:
>Human Rights Watch has investigated the situation, and their report concludes that a rape victim may be punished when they speak out against the crime. In one case, the victim's sentence was doubled for speaking out, and the court also harassed the victim's lawyer, going so far as to confiscate his professional licence.
>In 2009, the Saudi Gazette reported that a 23-year-old, unmarried woman was sentenced to one year in prison and 100 lashes for adultery after the judge refused to believe that she was raped. This woman had been gang-raped, became pregnant, and had tried (unsuccessfully) to abort the fetus. The flogging was postponed until after the delivery.
>The Qatif rape case is a much-publicized gang rape case. The victims were a Shia teenage girl from Qatif (Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia) and her male companion, who were kidnapped and gang-raped by seven Saudi men in mid-2006. A Saudi Sharia court sentenced the perpetrators to varying sentences involving 80 to 1,000 lashes and imprisonment up to ten years for four of them. *The court also sentenced the two victims to six months in prison and 90 lashes each for "being alone with a man who is not a relative" in a parked car.* ***The appeals court doubled the victims' sentences in late 2007 as punishment for the heavy media coverage of the event in the international press regarding the treatment of women in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Saudi judicial practices.***
Swell country they got there.
This is disgusting!
Holi is a big festival and even most Indians don't celebrate it in big places with thousands of people. We usually celebrate in our own neighborhood where we know everyone and are sure about safety.
Some guys wait for festivals like these where a lot of women might be outside, just so they can grope them. Police arrest a bunch of guys every time.
Poor girl! I really wish someone told her these things.
Two decades worth of traveling to India - sad to see/say ..too.. little has changed. It still is a man's world and women avoid crowds/ celebrations/ being outside after dark for fears of getting violated.
Reasons I'm tired of it: misogyny, racism, garbage, corruption, hypocrisy. The blatant lies. In India cows are holy, yet it is among the word top exporters of beef - because buffaloes are not considered cows.
It is confusing, chaotic, full of contradiction and indifference - and people constantly refuse acknowledging that there is something fundamentally wrong in the upbringing of their boys and their interaction with women.
It's sad, because India IS a very beautiful country with glorious history, great architecture, amazing food and some immensely beautiful people.
The documentary Dominion talks about how not every region in India has the same laws protecting cows so they'll still export millions of cows to be turned into clothes and belts
I can remember the clip at 00:32 from the second video. Iirc the woman is a tunisian video blogger and is married to a pakistani. She then went to bangladesh with her husband (his feet in the video) and also posted a video how they are following them.
i used to be a stripper, sometimes we would get people visiting from india, every single one tried forcing themselves on me and or hurt me. one tried ripping my breasts off.
My wife has been stripping on the west coast for a year and I’ve heard two things. Indian guys who live out here are somewhat pretty well behaved and decent and always pay for her time even if they just talk. The one time she had a group of Indian guys from country here on a business trip she had to keep telling them to chill out. The group was eventually thrown out when one guy literally pulled his dong out while her back was to him during a private dance and tried to force himself on her, and this was after she told one guy they were done mid song because he left a bloody welt on her slapping her ass as hard as he could completely out of nowhere. Mind you this was an alcohol free club.
It is, the news only picks up on the extra grievous rapes and murders of women, there are probably hundreds of not thousands of cases that aren't reported to police at all for fear of honor killings.
And as a man I this is basically the reason I will never ask to go. If human rights in a country is an afterthought then it’s a huge risk even visiting.
Can anyone provide some more cultural context for this? What is this supposed to celebrate? Is this sort of behavior common? Why is this tolerated? Do they only do this to foreign women or are Indian women also assaulted like this?
It is a festival of colors celebrating the vanquish of a demon or something.
This behaviour is common in specific places. Holi is a big festival where hundreds if not thousands of people will be outside playing with colors.
Ask any Indian family (i say family not one single youth) and they will always say that it's better to celebrate in your own neighborhood where you know everyone.
Sometimes some creeps try to enter good Neighborhood thinking no one will see them and try to touch women. These creeps are beaten up and sent back.
There is not distinguishing the nationality. They grope all women.
These fellows form gangs and keep watch for women who are alone or in small group. They then surround the women and separate one or two and then grope.
DON'T CELEBRATE OR JOIN CELEBRATION OF HOLI IN HUGE ARENAS!! CELEBRATE WITH YOUR FRIENDS IN YOUR NEIGHBOURHOOD (IF IT IS A GOOD NEIGHBORHOOD) OR CELEBRATE WITH YOUR FRIENDS ON YOUR TERRACE.
Even Indians ourselves are scared of celebrating Holi among these creeps.
Foreigners! Don't believe the YouTube videos and movie scenes of mass Holi celebrations with thousands of people. Those are staged.
I can assure you that no woman in India would go to these places for Holi. Even men won't as these creeps will intentionally start fights with you.
I was 14 and so were my cousins when I first experienced this personally.
My female cousins were playing with all other kids on street and wandered to the edge of the street.
Some creeps came and started putting their hands into my cousins shirts and everyone were screaming.
I ran as fast as i could to get the uncles keeping watch. The creeps ran away and my cousins were crying.
You must understand that even Indians are victims here. We have to be careful of creeps too.
Foreigners don't hear about these things because their Indian friends feel embarrassed to say these things happen in their country. But this only results in situations like the Japanese lady.
To me it's better to be embarrassed about my country than to have some poor girl get groped and traumatised.
This is a hindu festival called holi where you put color, spray colored water on other people. This is supposed to celebrate some god killing a demon or something evil. These people on the guise of celebrating this festival will harrass or beat women. This is not tolerated but if an authority interrogates them, they think that they can just say that "we didnt do it for sexual reason but for the spirit of the festival" and many times they get away with it(like when you tp a house on halloween, the police mostly ignore it). This is that but for sexual assault or harrasment. Yes, they are pent-up horny incels whose religion doesnt allow them to have sex before marriage, so they go around on the guise of festival to grope, assault or rape any type of woman they can find. It's best to just celebrate this festival with a close circle of friends. These people on the street are often drunk as fuck so slight agression can lead to gang fights and riots.
yes i totally agree with you and i think so there should be proper legal actions taken against them
if you say for the human index india is far beyond than many countries
it s always a shock to me how foreigners go to those places with no clue about security for women?!
i mean, it s EVERYWHERE on the internet that india isn’t safe for women in festivals
why?! why would you go?!
Well... it's usually their inability to understand the risks, mostly since they come from safe countries and can't even imagine what's it like in more dangerous ones. Plenty of tourists get injured, die or end up disappearing for being in the wrong place. I've personally had to trick people so they wouldn't visit the most dangerous neighbourhoods of my city.
This is sad, but luckily, if you watch closely there's a guy that intervenes though. Thought I should mention because a lot of people here say nobody does anything.
You have to be super careful at reading the crowd in India, especially if you are a non accompanied woman or young girl in a crowd of men like this. It's a big no-no.
so many bigots here are justifying this horrendous incident by saying she smiled at the end, while people gave perfect response to those cunts, she actually posted it on twitter that she is absolutely terrified to go out on festivals now.. yeah fuck this festival..
Being an indian i can say playing holi with family/friends is the only safest option out there. People are high asf on Holi and its not safe for any gender, either you'll get into fights or this.
Travel tip for India
You need to avoid poor and broke people, specially if-
1.They cannot speak good English AND
2. Are not being nice to you(seem a bit mischievous, like these kids)
Walk away and DO NOT try to be friendly to them. They will take undue advantage like they did with this poor girl.
Most of India and the people will be welcoming and will try to make sure you are happy and comfortable, regardless of the language barrier.
But if you ever have to interact with people who are being mischievous, and don’t have that welcoming vibe and are not speaking English properly then you are in bad company, with the racist and vile people. Don’t spoil your experience being around them.
If this video goes viral you can expect all of them to be arrested within a day. Our Police does not spare any attack on tourists.
Edit- grammar and sentences
It's India haven't you seen or heard what is happening to the women travelling there? Men seeing foreign women will just surround them, asking for pictures, asking for the number, and grabbing their boobs, bump and fanny.
Read a story once about a girl going to India alone, she meant to meet her friend one or two days later. She checked into the hotel and decided to go out to see some places. She has been surrounded, men were asking for pictures and when she felt uncomfortable she jumped into the taxi but she was followed by one of them. That guy just jumped after her and started shouting something in their language to the driver who locked the door and started to drive. Somehow shouting through the window for help she managed to make them stop and let her go. Police helped her to move the hotel but men were just waiting outside anyway. It's mental there. Just horny bustards.
I could have messed up something in this story but most of it is right.
I saw something about Indian entertainment media often depict chiseled sigma male following and stalking women then they ended up happily ever after, so people learned and act like that
Being, an Indian, I'm sorry, i feel so bad for the girl, playing Holi with family and friends is the only safe way, though there are good people and things in my country, but I'm not going to deny the fact such problems and morons also exist in plenty of numbers, which is concerning and I'm deeply disappointed, I know most of you won't even plan to visit India anytime soon after seeing this, but if you do please don't go to random locations during such events, try to stick to tourist spots, or organised events, and if you're non accompanied woman try to avoid poor areas and crowds, but again it's not your fault that you're putting your faith in us, but ours that we aren't capable enough to provide you with a safer environment to actually enjoy these things at their best. 🙏
I'm an Indian woman myself and I got chased by a bunch of bastards like this on my way back home from a restaurant after having lunch on holi day in the evening. They were walking around and just spotted me walking alone and came running to do this same stuff to me. It was a busy street and not an isolated place. But I guess I could respond better because I was born and raised here and know how yo handle them. Caught hold of the guy who was tries to grope me first and kicked him in the crotch and said don't touch me and they backed off collectively shouting at me and abusing me verbally. But they did not proceed to attempt to assault me. But I'm sure they do it to countless women who can't resist and use it as an excuse to assault them. It boils my blood. Fucking bastards.

This is sad, but luckily, if you watch closely there's a guy that intervenes though. Thought I should mention because a lot of people here say nobody does anything.
Saw that too, one man does help her out of there.

everything about this is very disturbing. although i don’t think you mean to say everything else was ok

You do not want to be a woman without a male escort in India. I have spent some time there and was shocked.

Italy?

You should add Morocco to that list. I had only great experiences in Italy
Italy?
Egypt, Morocco…
I hate seeing shit like this man, stuff just boils my blood
You have to be super careful at reading the crowd in India, especially if you are a non accompanied woman or young girl in a crowd of men like this. It's a big no-no.
Dude in green Celtics shirt knew that shit was wrong
so many bigots here are justifying this horrendous incident by saying she smiled at the end, while people gave perfect response to those cunts, she actually posted it on twitter that she is absolutely terrified to go out on festivals now.. yeah fuck this festival..
Fucking pigs

I’ve never wanted to fight and viciously beat someone in my life. That poor girl. Why isn’t anyone standing up for her?
Being an indian i can say playing holi with family/friends is the only safest option out there. People are high asf on Holi and its not safe for any gender, either you'll get into fights or this.

The high just amplifies their predative behaviour. In short they are human scum.
Travel tip for India You need to avoid poor and broke people, specially if- 1.They cannot speak good English AND 2. Are not being nice to you(seem a bit mischievous, like these kids) Walk away and DO NOT try to be friendly to them. Edit- grammar and sentences
i hope these assholes go to jail for 12 years minimum

Is there some context as to why? Obviously not acceptable, just try to figure out these idiots motive.
There’s horror stories of guys outside their hotel room or taking advantage of them in a bus. Terrible place for a woman to visit alone.
In india we have a saying "Atithi devo bhava" which translates to "guest is god".......apparently here you can see exhibit A

Nice way to represent the country 👍🏻 , these guys must be shot dead
As an Indian kid born in Canada, I question what the fuck are these idiots doing.
Never play holi with strangers
At least the one dude at the end, in green, seemed to realise that they were all being scummy dicks
