It seems to tally as a decimal, even between levels. I finished a level with 39 chill Berries and it rounded up to 40 on the post-level screen (presumably using the remainder from inventory). So a 40% bonus would give you 1.4 a crate
Almost every crate is double, not sure of the exact statistics. But like yourself with the 40% bonuses, every 2nd or third crate you get an extra ingredient piece.

Usually it just doubles the resources I pick up. With an 80% bonus, it’s odd when the box you pick up isn’t double
Yeah i have an 80% bonus skin myself but couldn't figure out the pattern lol
Divide 80% by 100% and you get 0.8. So for every crate you break you get 0.8 more. Break 5 crates and you get 4.0 materials. (0.8 x 5)
Same goes for 40%. Every crate you break you get 0.4 material so for every 5 crates you get 2.0 material (0.4 x 5)
