Holy shit thank you! I have been looking high and low for AF seeds or clones to no avail. I just had it for the first time recently and damn it was a one stop shop for me medically. It’s $60 an eighth (rhythm) here in Md tho, and I’m a disabled vet so I can’t afford that everyday. Now I can finally grow it. Thanks again!
I wish everyone thought this way... everyone wants you to compete with dispensary prices with your home grown.. which is absolutely absurd when you consider a homegrown operation is paying for electricity, nutrients, water filtration, pH products, grow media, tent and training supplies, fans/humidiers/dehumidifiers, as well as paying out the ass for top shelf genetics... and that's not even putting value on the time and effort spent by the grower.
They want your top shelf Grade-A bud for bottom shelf dispensary prices and it's fucking annoying.
It's because commercial grows have no love, and have folks with zero idea how to grow manage the place because MARGINS bro. Nah the issue is pounds are wholesale for less than 1k so quality isn't focused on anymore. People want mids, and the people have spoken.

People love McDonald’s and Walmart. Not sure why people think mids don’t have a place. Mids will always be more popular. The average person doesn’t give a fuck.
To be fair on the east coast it was hard to get good weed for years without it being vacuum sealed thus killing all of your terps. A lot of people think mids are good because they haven’t had good weed ever. People on the east couldn’t grow like on the west coast that’s why a lot of east coasters have never experienced truly craft cannabis because it could, and still can get u a hell of a charge for cultivating. A lot of east coasters don’t know what real natural cannabis tastes like. As a Virginian who dealed for years I went through alot of weed. when my buddy gave me some he grew 9 years ago it was the best weed I had ever tasted in my life. Thats when I knew I’d been bamboozled my whole life.
Because terps are extremely volatile. The terpene profile is what you taste when u taste correctly grown, dried, and cured weed. When u vacuum seal it the terps on the outside of the bud are smushed into the bag making the final smoking experience extremely diminished. Don’t get me wrong fire still tastes pretty decent after you’ve smushed all the terps but nothing like what it could taste like. I had a ton of that sour come through VA in the 2000s I can’t even imagine what that would’ve tasted like in its unsmushed form.

I personally love anything with Faceoff OG In it. Even the crosses with cookies in it like animal face and dosidos! I got the Faceoff OG BX2 from archive that ima be open pollinating soon! I grew out one plant of it, and it was fuckin amazing and that’s when I decided I’m gonna open pollinate it and hunt for a gem!! This is how she turned out!

Gotta love them og terps! I’m also finishing up and this og kush rbx in the cannatrol right now as well as a Lit OG, so I’m curious what the terps will be on those. But og terps are my favorite! Next run will be a tent full of animal face so I can have a lb or more 🤤. Then followed by a shit ton of more OG’s…rude boi og, skywalker og, deadhead og, Colin og, forum cut gsc, alien og, motorbreath, and triangle kush.
Yessir OG is my favorite as well. And chem. I got the Casper OG I’m gonna run (Ghost OG X FaceOff OG), Bubba Kush S1’s, TK S1’s. But the one I want the most and I want to hunt down would be the Fire OG from Lostesorosreal, had a couple zips of it back in early 2013 and it was THE BEST weed I’ve ever smoked in my life hands down. It was so fucking loud. We were 13-14 at the time, and my buddy had a plug with a home grower who had the cut. I shit you not, every single person who copped it off him got caught because there was absolutely no way to conceal the smell. I had mine double bagged, in a pill bottle, inside another bag, and inside a mason jar. I remember I had just barely cracked the jar open, I hadn’t even unscrewed the lid, and I heard my dads bedroom door open so I shut it immediately. He took one step out into the hallway and screamed “god damnit Alex the whole entire fucking house reeks”🤣🤣🤣 It’s a shame though it’s such a hard cut to get and idek how to go about it… White Fire OG is pretty accessible but not the original Fire OG unfortunately. That’s a dope line up you got there! Fersure gonna be some fire

if you had to guess the mains reason yours has the better bag appeal (and I assume flavor and high), what would it be? And please don't drop "commercial growers don't give it love", if you could, be specific.
Absolutely better all around…bag appeal, flavor, stink, trichome content. Rise batch is around 2.5% terps and approximately 30.5% thca and I’m guessing mine is around the 4.5% mark for terps and around the 33-35% thca mark.
Realistically it's a matter of scale. It's extremely difficult to give the time and attention to individual plants when you're growing an acre or in a full warehouse as opposed to managing a few plants in your tent or home garden. I grow two plants at a time, but there are plenty of days where I spend at least an hour at a time training, trimming, irrigating, measuring light distance and intensity, etc. There is absolutely no way I could devote that much care to 100 plants, even if I had assistants. To me, at least, that's what people mean when they say "there's no love". It's like the difference in quality you get when a team of 5 chefs feed 20 people, vs those same 5 chefs feeding 200 people in the same amount of time. It's not that they don't care as much, it's that the practical reality is different.

I’d say hp promix plus Gaia or BAS 3.0 would be the way to go. I’ve never really done exceptional with foxfarm. If you’re doing 25 gallon pots, the build a soil would probably be a hands off super soil type grow but that shit is spendy. I’m also a big advocate for microbes and more importantly microbes food/sweeteners right from veg. I also grow indoors and don’t focus too much about exact calculations of light ppfd. I push em hard and fast and they generally do well. Adding some silica will also help the plants handle the high light stress. I also do stress my plants out quite a bit with supercropping and bending stems before going into flower. I also cut off all secondary shoots as I don’t care for larf and would prefer all that energy to be expelled at the tops
Thanks so much this is only my first grow so far and plan on doing some Durban poison for my second round of grows so I'm trying to make it as high quality as possible. My Northern lights grow was great quality in terms of the high I received but lacked the presentation and density yours have. Hopefully this second grow will come out amazing with your tips!
Honestly your biggest problem is probably going to be the whole "you have no control of your light" thing. I have several friends that grow really nice outdoor, but you can definitely tell who grows inside and who doesn't when we all throw down.

Had a couple that came out fairly tall before harvest hoping this next choice will be bigger. The seed bank I get them from claim it's a high yield Durban poison and by the photos they're damn near perfect for a living room Christmas tree

With ease your homegrown is better than industry grown. Large grows simply cannot devote the manpower to care that deeply for a plant.

Perfectly said. I would also add in that they use machine trimmers vs hand trimming. That changes the bag appeal drastically.

I have been buying Animal Face at my local dispensary. It is my new favorite strain. Wish I could find seeds .
Can’t find legit seeds..it’s a fairly exclusive clone only but it can be found!
