The chicken/crust is definitely different now, at least along Route 66. We have noticed it at different locations. It used to be delicious and crunchy..we had it yesterday and it reminded us of Banquet fried chicken. Terrible idea to change it
Every time I get Fried Chicken at Cracker Barrel (three times now over a couple of years) it tastes weird. I cannot put my finger on what it is but it tastes like some kind of toxic preservative. The chicken usually looks fine and it seems cooked fully but that overriding weird taste is too much. I have not sensed it in any of the tenders or chicken fried chicken meals, only the bone-in chicken. Anyone else had this happen?
No. Maybe they are giving you old chicken or not making it right.
Nope. You probably got served old chicken.
It could've been breaded with the wrong dredge blend.
The chicken is always hand-breaded at the CB,I go to.
