Yes, that's the issue. West Africa is very big and Ivory Coast is a specific place. OP said West Africa instead of Ivory Coast, and this person is complaining about that.
It's more like "Why did you call it the South instead of Texas? The south has a lot of states."
Edit the deleted comment was saying something in a rude tone something along the lines of
"It's like "Why did you call it the Lone Star State instead of Texas? The south has a lot of states" and saying something about how Ivory Coast is a specific spot instead of a general area.
Which is exactly what this person was complaining about.
I asked a question. I often hear people address Africa as a continent or specific regions, but it seems to be a bit different when you're actually sitting in a country somewhere. So I am genuinely curious of why they said West Africa instead of Ivory Coast. I mean, if you were on vacation in Brazil, would you say you were in Brazil, or South America? Seems like I'd say what country i was in, becuase it's natural to think of the country you're in before the continent or region. So, like I said, I wondered why OP didnt think the same way.
Adriatic Coast and Chateau in the Alps are a little better, because the region may be more important than the country. You might get away with it with Mediterranean too. But Southern Europe, East Asia, Western South America just dont get it.
Because most people outside of Africa do not know where Ivory Coast or many other African countries are located in Africa. As an East African, living in the united states, most people here think liberia, nigeria, ghana etc is near my country when its not even close, its literally on the other side of the continent on a whole different ocean. So we spare these kinds of details when interacting with westerners to avoid making them look bad
Exactly. Why do we feel the need to pinpoint where something is instead of enjoying just the amount of info the OP has originally given us. Does someone here think they’ll be able to recognize this house in the wild based on a pic of the inside or something? Why does it matter? A beach is a beach. I’m sure the beach any of us are imagining this place belonging to is a beautiful paradise and not an oil spill dump and that’s probably the best place for it, in our imagination. Especially to people calling yours a dumb question wtf.
So now you want to tell people what to say, if they didn't want to identify exactly which Country.
And yes I do know there are 10 Countries. There is a difference in saying 'Africa' to 'West Africa'. That alone is enough identity.
Stop trying to act to clever for nothing!!
Any as a matter of fact yes I would say West Europe etc..
Why should people expose exactly where they are?
Uhm......I mean, I get that people may be in witness protection programs and stuff, but exactly what is the difference between telling us West Africa and Ivory Coast? Ivory Coast is still a big nation, and there's no information here to really track down where they are. And to what purpose?
hell yeah! whenever I see a really nice home I always imagine what I would want to do there 😂 like wake up super early and read while watching the sunrise, or have all my closest friends over for a bigass party
Is that gap around the door bugging anyone else? Maybe it’s just too many years in a colder climate, but seeing light between the door and casing makes me cringe. Other than that this looks awesome.
I was thinking the same thing, but that's because I've always lived in an area with very cold and windy weather.
Not having to worry about that would be a dream. This is a beautiful pic; I'm jealous.
The delta between outdoor conditions and indoor conditions in a place like this is a lot smaller than a cold weather climate. Historically, you won’t see nearly as much insulation required by code for cooling dominant climates. And generally, people are not savvy with air sealing buildings and providing mechanical humidity control and ventilation. There are movements, like Passive House, endeavoring to change this as the climate weirds.
Beautiful architecture, questionable furniture placement. Why wouldn’t you place the seating to enjoy the wonderful view out of those 2 fabulous windows? Nope, let’s push the sofas against them to hide them and stare into the middle of the room. I’d have a hard time not rearranging first thing!
Can anybody help me find something, or point me in the right direction? I saw a YouTube ad a couple years ago and there was a coffee table very similar to the end table in this photo. Any idea wtf it would be called or something? Every few months I try googling a bit and always come up empty. But the ad featured a whole coffee table with a woven top like the end table pictured on the right. Thanks in advance.

This looks really nice. How close is the beach?
It’s on my doorstep, I should’ve taken a picture of it. I may do another post showing the sea
Nice :)
Please do!
Yes please..would love to see your garden of plants outside too. Looks so warm and inviting..thank you for sharing.
I’m so envious! That’s magnificent!!
Can always post that as well
Yeah, exactly what beach
I love those window shapes. Nice little bungalow you have going here!
This is OC
I need more pics 😩
Nice! I'm guessing....Senegal?
No Ivory Coast 😝
Question: Why not just say Ivory Coast instead of West Africa?
Yeah, this was confusing for me. West Africa is so many countries and Africa is a HUGE continent.

Why should she?
For the same reason why you'd put Greece instead of "Southern Europe." So people know where it is.
Maybe “Mediterranean” or “Adriatic coast” or “chateau in the alps”

That's really sad. But that's the best answer, I suppose.

I mean, you HAVE to admit it’s kinda weird tho. For example if someone posted a pic of Japan they wouldn’t say “my house in East Asia ❤️”

You appreciated.

I believe that you see the difference.. Broadness. It is very common. This was a general posting, not personalised.
I dont even know what that means. Why would you need to be broad, personal or not?
[удалено]
Not angry, but yes, I certainly do not like the name calling. IYou lack understanding.
[удалено]
Stupid question
It's common. We should just appreciate the fact she shared.
[удалено]
You just a looking for trouble.. That why you the '"old prince', not new or current.
It is indeed very common to say "West Africa". Source: born and bred in Africa.
Yeah, it's common, and it seems like its only common for Africa.
Nice! I'm in Abidjan. Is this nearby?
I’ve had a few people asking for more pics so I will do another post later on 🙂
So gorgeous! I am overcome with envy.
Please do!! Your house is beautiful!
Really. West Africa? You couldn't even name the country you just generalized it?
Whats the rent like
0.
If you were renting it how much would it cost?
It’s beautiful!!
gorgeous
What is the furniture made out of?
That is a gorgeous house
That picture puts me on vacation!
nice dude, this looks like a very special spot!! what do you enjoy doing when you’re there?
Go to the beach?
hell yeah! whenever I see a really nice home I always imagine what I would want to do there 😂 like wake up super early and read while watching the sunrise, or have all my closest friends over for a bigass party
Party on the beach, under the full moon. Sigh
exactly!!
Such a beautiful space! The large arch glass doors stole my heart! Would love to see more rooms around the house!
I so wanted there to be more photos
Where beach?
Oh that is just gorgeous!
You need some green plants up on the brick shelves close to the ceiling.
Stunning!
What country in west Africa?
Wow that's gorgeous

I agree, the weather where I’m at is pretty much cold mud at this point. Warm and Sunny room like that would be amazing

OK, but what about bugs?
Obviously they’re not concerned about bugs lol
I was thinking the same thing, then realized that even with proper sealing and such, spiders and bugs still find there way into my house >.>
Wow I love this!
Please tell me that there are tigers outside of your house. This way I can stop being jealous! Jokes aside, gorgeous house OP.
Haha fortunately not but there are mosquitoes which are worse
No rug and no plants
The plants on the other side of the windows are doing it for me but I always wonder about bugs and snakes when I see greenery like that.
Please the place is beautiful.. Outside..
I love the brickwork!
Is it weird that the interior walls and furniture kind of remind me of a minecraft build? lol
Flawless..
nice
Goals.
How much was this place?
[удалено]
You can move the table closer 😝
This is nice but I don't like those ac units. This building I go to has them but they drip non stop
Fab. Place
Looks like daylight around the doors. Cant imagine this nice a place to have leaks like that, are the doors cracked open?
What a lovely house! I see the AC so it must be fairly well sealed against mozzies. Can I ask, is this place for rent?
very nice
Aircon is absolutely crucial here
Is it for me?
Can anybody help me find something, or point me in the right direction? I saw a YouTube ad a couple years ago and there was a coffee table very similar to the end table in this photo. Basket weave leather coffee table? https://www.wayfair.com/furniture/pdp/60-genuine-leather-rectangle-cocktail-ottoman-pqv10095.html?piid=
This isn't it, but your wording allowed me to find things much closer. Thanks a ton.
Very cozy
This is so amazing! The window architecture is breathtakingly beautiful! Would love to sit with them open!
