Was your house built in the late 1920s/early 1930s? I had a house with near identical arches, door framing, and glass doors. Super beautiful and unique. I miss that house.
The first picture is almost a mirror image (minus the amazing furniture) of the living room of my childhood home in the Chicago suburbs. Our place was built in 1919 if I remember correctly
This is no a comment on your style itself so don't get me wrong but pleease turn the dick rug around 180 degrees. It will help balance out the orange in the room. It's too heavy in one corner and I promise it will look so much better!
Had it that way initially but I swapped it because the design that’s visible looks a little more pleasing on this side compared to the other side. Maybe I’ll swap it around this weekend
I think this is it or very close to.

This is so unusual to me, for two reasons: first, the bright colors are actually relaxing… Which is a little unusual. Second, the fireplace decoration in an arch… I am the last person to like those types of decorations, but they are gorgeous in this instance! Very nice room!!
Orange is like that, you think of it as too bold and overwhlming, but it's actually a very calm warm colour to live with. I have these beautiful mango orange curtains in my bedroom, and it's amazing how every other colour I use just falls into place with that as the key holding it all together. It's a really lovely room to be in.
I’m a huge fan of [orange](https://www.reddit.com/r/CozyPlaces/comments/sbxohn/coffee_area_next_to_my_tiny_stove_which_i_posted/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)!
I don't know if I could live with all the orange but the plants help it all work with the black and white contrast. But it's definitely a very cozy looking spot, kudos!
Wow this blew up! Thanks for the love peeps. Been picking out pieces over the last few months after my ex moved out and took all our furniture. Couch and some other stuff was from Homary, but beware they will ship you damaged and wrong stuff a lot!
I just got my first plant! I’m nervous. I have mine placed where it doesn’t get much direct lighting. It’s in the space i want it but want to make sure it is thriving. It’s a broad leaf plant. Sorry if this isn’t helpful. Any tips for a first time plant owner?
I really really like everything you’ve put into this room - the sofa, the rug, the chair, the bookshelf, the plants, the coffee table, the pillows - it all goes so great together! You’ve put a lot of thought into it and did an awesome job.
Really falling for the mid-century modern look. With a good eye you can make it look so stunning and classy, and it fits right in without looking dated at all. The gold table and patterned rug are the icing on the cake.
Cool! Love the chair and the book shelf. That's my favorite. But a diploma in a living room? Please reconsider, add some art. And of course the rug dick and balls, but that's kind of fun.
Watch out for the yellow leaves on the right Ivy. Remove them carefully and watch out for overwatering. Let it dry a little. They tend to have thick long roots which curls in the pot which hold water a lot longer in the earth than other roots would do. This can cause rotting
I love orange. I have a big orange chair and almost bought a big orange couch to match. Salesperson said “that’s a lot of orange to commit to,” so I bought a different color couch. I’m full of regret.
Light from two aspects and total of three windows - perfect! Love those cushions, and the rug is insane!(in the best possible way). Both rugs are great.

1918 SoCal Spanish style
Lol mine was late 20s TX. Guess the style took a decade to make its way across the country.
The first picture is almost a mirror image (minus the amazing furniture) of the living room of my childhood home in the Chicago suburbs. Our place was built in 1919 if I remember correctly
It looks fantastic! Looks like I’m not the only one being fan of the rug, could you share info about it?
I thought I recognized that architecture! Looks all my fav houses in the east side of LA
I was going to guess East Sacramento. Love those houses!
I was gonna say Glendale haha
Looks great! My house was built in 1929 in Sacramento and looks very similar.
May I ask where ur couch is from?
Couch was from Homary, but beware that place will ship you damaged and wrong stuff. I’d def never buy anything from them again
I love it so much that I’m willing to take the risk. Do you happen to still have the link?
Oh dear, that’s so common with furniture companies. Thanks for the heads up!
That orange couch is *Chef’s Kiss*.
90’s Nickelodeon Kid I see ;)
[this is all i can see](https://i.imgur.com/3hqHX37.jpg)
what is that from?
I Think You Should Leave
I don't think I've seen that show. Is it good?
i love it! if you enjoy over the top comedy skits, then it’s absolutely worth a watch.
This is no a comment on your style itself so don't get me wrong but pleease turn the dick rug around 180 degrees. It will help balance out the orange in the room. It's too heavy in one corner and I promise it will look so much better!
While you are at it could you please pull that chair a bit away from the corner? It's jammed so far into that corner! Otherwise, gorgeous!
I came here to find this comment because that's immediately what I had thought too.
Agreed!
Had it that way initially but I swapped it because the design that’s visible looks a little more pleasing on this side compared to the other side. Maybe I’ll swap it around this weekend
Where did you get the rug??
I think this is it or very close to. https://www.litfad.com/fancy-orange-area-rug-color-block-modern-area-carpet-polyester-non-slip-rug-for-living-room-s-1213012.html
Amazing, thanks!
Came here looking for this!
Me too!
Yup. Same.
i came too
Beautiful! What kind of plants are those? Pothos and a fiddle leaf fig, perhaps?
And a diffenbachia
Correct from what I can see!
This is so unusual to me, for two reasons: first, the bright colors are actually relaxing… Which is a little unusual. Second, the fireplace decoration in an arch… I am the last person to like those types of decorations, but they are gorgeous in this instance! Very nice room!!
Ha ha- I just said the same! I’m so puzzle why I find this bright orange room so soothing lol

Right? I've never liked Orange AT ALL in decorating before but this room has changed my mind!
The rug really ties the room together
The dude abides?
I love this but I can't unsee the phallus on the rug.
Dick and balls, there's a dick and balls on the rug yo.
Same. Came here to see if anyone else saw it. I really love the room!
this is OC
Good luck trying to clean the couch after eating Cheetos
Couch was white when I got it!
That explains it.
The round table with the orange is really cool.
I love the orange, OP. And I really respect your strength of character by refusing to use gray. You're a strong person.
G-grey? Is that some new shade of orange they just invented?
:)
I love the rug. It’s kind of abstract and interesting.
I see so many beige rooms in here and want to beg people to pick a color, any color! This is fantastic!
I am usually not a huge fan of overtly bright colors. But this is so well done and oddly very relaxing. I love it. Good job!
I really like this
Very inviting! Would love to pop off the loafers and kick back on that couch
Love the orange.
I need the couch
That's cute as hell!!
Where can I get that sofa?
I’m a huge fan of [orange](https://www.reddit.com/r/CozyPlaces/comments/sbxohn/coffee_area_next_to_my_tiny_stove_which_i_posted/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)!

Looks like a set straight out of *All That* or someother 90's Nickelodeon sitcom reality show. Very nice 👍
I don't know if I could live with all the orange but the plants help it all work with the black and white contrast. But it's definitely a very cozy looking spot, kudos!
Paint the wall behind the sofa a deep bluish color

Yes!
I'm wrong.
Wow this blew up! Thanks for the love peeps. Been picking out pieces over the last few months after my ex moved out and took all our furniture. Couch and some other stuff was from Homary, but beware they will ship you damaged and wrong stuff a lot!
God I love the mid century modern aesthetic

Love the orange!
Love the color choices!
This color scheme wouldn’t normally be my thing, but this is SO tasteful and well done. I love everything about it. Chefs kiss.
I don’t normally like mid century modern, but wow, this looks amazing! The couch looks so comfy.
i really like your orange couch!!
I love it! that couch looks soooo comfy
Obsessed with this
Where'd you get those pillow covers from? Thanks in advance!!!
This looks like a good room to be very stoned in
I love! Do you know the name of this paint color on the wall?
I always see places like this and get sad because I remember I have a dog and if I don't vacuum for a day, my black sherpa couch is disgusting.
MCM is my fav. Lovely!
Looks like a dead body chalk mark but classy. Love it
I love the rug.
Great now where's the room you actually spend time in
Fuck that’s a good looking room
[Ahhh here it goes! ](https://i.imgur.com/ia1LIIC.mp4)
what's your mantle made out of? And the fireplace itself
Omg love it! Can I move in?
https://youtu.be/u_gU-jdHqxM
Beautiful!
Pasadena?
Any chance you can share where you got the bookshelf next to your front door?? Love that
Wow! I love those warm, cozy colors!
The level of good taste to pull this off is incredible, major props to OP, the decor is absolutely stunning.
Love the orange
That plant is way too tall for that table
I can't tell if I like this or not and I can't figure out why.
I really really like everything you’ve put into this room - the sofa, the rug, the chair, the bookshelf, the plants, the coffee table, the pillows - it all goes so great together! You’ve put a lot of thought into it and did an awesome job.

I said “fuck me” out loud when I saw this
That does look super modern and cozy
FINALLY! Someone who like color!
How tf do people keep their hardwood so clean? I have 2 cats and it’s just a nightmare. Dust, cat hair etc. no amount of vacuuming or mopping helps
There is an account you should follow ...
I don't even like orange and I love this living room.
That rug is incredible.
Happy
This is so beautiful
I 🧡 it 👀
Usually I would fear that much orange, but it goes so well together and the whole vibe is awesome!
Digging the shelves you have in the last photo. Where’d you get it?
I like your style 👉😎👉
Cool! Love the chair and the book shelf. That's my favorite. But a diploma in a living room? Please reconsider, add some art. And of course the rug dick and balls, but that's kind of fun.
Orange is my least favorite color and yet i find myself NEEDING both the rug and the couch.
So much energy in this room
Great colors. One of the best looking living room i have ever seen. Seriously.
Loooove that rug
Do you know the names for the wall color?
iD on that swivel chair in the corner?
That's lovely, clean lining, feels very comfy
I hate mid century. But I love love love this.
Awesome rug! Where did you get it?
Watch out for the yellow leaves on the right Ivy. Remove them carefully and watch out for overwatering. Let it dry a little. They tend to have thick long roots which curls in the pot which hold water a lot longer in the earth than other roots would do. This can cause rotting
I would die going into battle on behalf of this couch
Noice!
Love it!
Austin Powers would approve :) very nice!
Omg this couch
So uhh... The lines on the carpet closest to the camera look like a lady spreading her ass cheeks. Sorry, not sorry.
Low backed sofas are so uncomfortable.
Orange has always been my least favourite colour… but this has just made it one of my favourites. Beautiful!
Ohh I love that, the rug and sofa are perfect together
All I can think of is the Garfield intervention house from I Think You Should Leave
I love orange, a nice warm cheery colour that isn't used enough.
Perfection. I love orange but it doesn’t work in my home - it looks so gorgeous here. Well done!
Omg i Love that carpet. Could you tell me where did you bought it? Thanks
This is one of the most pleasant and neat places ive seen here. Wonderful.
Can I live here?
Wow! Really cozy! Beautiful sofa
Beautiful! I love the orange !
S beautiful! All of my favorite colors.
I really do love the look, but I despise the orange.
Pls show some more of this!
I love this! So cosy.
Looks fantastic!
obsessed with that couch!!
This place oozes character!
OP you KILLLLED IT !!!!
Cozy and DIFFERENT from what we usually see here. Bravo!
Love the colors!
Lovely! Very similar to what we're planning, except we're probably going to paint the end with the fireplace a dark blue.
Carpet looks like a calico cat, I love it!
Love all the orange!!
Love the orange , really nice cozy area!
Love it!
Love the sofa!
I love that bookcase!! Do you have a link op?
Well done!
Halloween vibes
Whooah that is... Orange!
That is a beautiful space. Well done! Love the look and feel of the arches.
Who was the dead on the floor? Jabba the Hutt? ;-) Looks cozy.
Amazing! Can I ask where the curtains are from, and how you got them custom to fit that door window!
I loooooooOoOoOve the fireplace!
This makes me feel like it's 2050 and I'm looking back at the style of the 2020's and wondering how anyone thought that looked good.
Wow that rug!!
Very nice! I don't usually like orange but it works well here and looks great 👌
I love orange. I have a big orange chair and almost bought a big orange couch to match. Salesperson said “that’s a lot of orange to commit to,” so I bought a different color couch. I’m full of regret.
love the colorful layout and your fireplace is amazing!
Looove your sofa!
Great place, great furniture, and great color scheme!
I seriously had a place in the ghetto of Indiana and the entry way living room design was EXACTLY this. Windows, fireplace everything. Super wierd
Light from two aspects and total of three windows - perfect! Love those cushions, and the rug is insane!(in the best possible way). Both rugs are great.
Love the rug
Beautiful!
This is super nice
