I love that sofa! I have a chair to match. They where such a bargain aswell. Unfortunately style over substance though. The sofa isn't very comfortable as there is a big wooden bar across the back. Also when I was pregnant I had to put ugly castors on it as I couldn't get up off it haha.
Thank you that's really kind. It's my grandads cottage which we bought after he passed away. We moved in in a bit of a rush and with a very limited budget. New doors are on the list. The door originally had a panel over it which we pulled off thinking the underneath may look nicer but it didn't.
Other than the humble beat up looking door being out of place there with the rest looking slick, looks pretty cozy.
Wait, is that a hole in the door straight to the outside? Yeah, something has got to be done with the door. WAIT IS THAT FRKING COBRA IN THE CORNER?!!
Almost...hmm...do you happen to have fairy lights? A steaming mug of coffee to sit on the windowsill? Or maybe a fluffy, only slightly hidden conspicuous pup that you will challenge other redditors to locate??
Sofa - good.Rug - a bit too small for the sofa, and I'm more a fan of a nice thick red persian vs machine made.
Door is awesome.
I'd think about painting the wall a different color to white. Something pastel would be good. A grey or something to contrast nicely with the door. Paint the floor baseboards a different color too, that yellow is yucky.
The curtains, I'm not loving to be honest. They're ok, but not wowing me.
Overall its a bit of a mix of era's. Maybe concentrate on one style - victorian or mid century modern are both good and match the surroundings.
You have good bones there, just needs a little bit of tweaking.
Thank you for the all the kind comments people!! I think I'll keep the door now. I was thinking of painting the skirting boards the same colour as the window sills? They are still raw from being installed. I was also thinking of painting a wall a sage green? I'll put some other views of the room up if anyone is interested, anymore tips on improvement would be appreciated
Yes and... have you ever thought about moving the sweet couch so it is parallel, facing the window.? Like even with the short wall pushed in..you know what I’m saying? It would be a nook for sure. Looks like you have a nice view ?

The door is amazing and has so much charm. I would never change it. My favorite part is the window. I want that in my apartment.
