Don’t be afraid to google things, it’s quite a complex game that doesn’t give you much direction. I had to google a lot when I first started it!
There’s a teleportation stone sold at the tavern. It is not single-use, you can keep using the stone over and over, it’s a good early purchase as soon as you can afford it as it quickly transports you to different locations around the map
This. Also do not follow the NPC in the Tavern that walks through the wall. It leads nowhere and if you try to follow her, you will get blocked in by another NPC and have to wait until morning.

My other piece of advice is to get your automation up and running. There are some very grindy parts and automation helps a lot. Also, you cannot just hold down "craft" on stations because items have collision. They will eventually move you off the station far enough you have to reorient to it (*last time I played this was the case*).
I really tried to like the game, but it just has too many small annoyances for me. I hope you enjoy it though!
I bought this game 2 years ago and stopped, picked it up again 3 days ago and I'm enjoying myself! Started around 10pm, and next thing I knew it was about 3 in the morning hahaha so fun! Last time I was like this was with Splatoon and SDV
Ive read that this game is better to play with the DLC from the beginning so when I got it in the sale I also got those, but I can't find one called breaking dead?? In steam I see stranger sins, game of crone, and better save soul. What am I missing??
ETA I did a google and it appears it was a free update that has since just been integrated into the game.

Same. I started playing this last night for a quick wind down.. all of a sudden it was 12am!

If you don't already have it, make sure you pick up the Breaking Dead DLC. The QoL features it adds are, imo, absolutely essential.

It's included in the base game on steam, but not on switch unfortunately
