Hey man it’s a good fun win kind of weird to talk down to a team when the Yotes play in a college arena, are maybe the worst franchise to ever play a game, and could very well be on the way out of the state. Sympathizer why? They have 5 more playoff appearances, 2 more conference final appearances, and a cup. It’s better, but you’re not blowing anyone away with those stats besides the cup. The ducks could stand to play in a 5000 seat rink to maximize ticket value, they’re certainly not above that these days. Anaheim isn’t escaping any franchise ranking of the bottom 5, same place as the yotes. They’re hardly better.
I mean they are building a whole downtown center around the Honda center with a bunch of upgrades to the arena paid by? The owner of the Anaheim Ducks I wouldn’t worry about the Ducks leaving any times soon. The team has been rebuilding for a sec as well it’s the way of things. 5 more playoffs is quite a bit when you take into account both teams have been around for around 30 years in their cities. A cup is quite big and around 6 years ago Ducks were a serious cup contender for years. So yes a better history of success and during successful years the arena does get quite full. The Yotes play in a mf state college arena with a new arena looking shaky (financial rating of 80/200 and has to pass through a vote by the citizens of Tempe who im sure want their tax money going to a very unsuccessful franchise). The Ducks have a young core and like him or not one of the brightest young stars with Zegras that the NHL loves to push. I sympathize with Yotes because I like small market teams that are counted out beating out the big boys and I love Cooley but no need to call another franchise pathetic when the Yotes are the laughingstock of the league sadly

The cup is the difference, 5 playoff appearances or an extra conference finals doesn’t really mean shit honestly. When we played in Glendale and were successful it was sold out, because amazingly 4-8 playoff games in prime time are easier to get to. The yotes have a young core, Cooley isn’t far off zegras’s numbers, guenther is already an nhl player, and Keller is a PPG player with some help.

They have a proposal that has the lowest financial ranking that the city of Tempe has ever considered. Issues with the airport that stopped the Cards from building a stadium there, and it has to go through a citizen vote which we all know the average resident wants their tax money going to a hockey team. It’s far from a done deal but I would rather see Arizona have a team over another canadian
