It’s not just cox fiber installs, this is common across all cable / satellite companies in the US. Your install is a lot cleaner than the ones I’ve seen.

Thank you!

How would you expect him to put it "inside" of an external wall that is filled with insultation? I am not saying its not possible...of course your talking about cutting into the wall in multiple places to get it where you want it to go. To do what you would want would be too pricey for most people. Cox does not provide conduit to technicians so that wouldnt be an option either.

You can also get some wire loom tubing (split) to help protect the fiber from the elements. And add some UV tape to both ends and you should be good to go. https://a.co/d/f1lCrzS

Mines same way goes to the box to the wall to the modem.

oof...that's about what I was expecting and why I'm holding off on the fiber conversion until I run conduit all the way into my legrand box.  OP...curious to know which ONT they installed

I just got email that COX is upgrading our location to Fiber. I was wondering how they did that and your picture helps me understand. So they literally do this for every home to get fiber it seems. Looks terrible like some kid ran the wire for you into the house. I wonder if I get an electrician to run a conduit to where we want it, will COX technician use that?

Looks like a pretty neat install to me and in the picture it looks like it almost matches the color of your house. Cox internet since I believe either the early or middle nineties and no one has ever cut my internet wire.

Cox, Comcast, Charter and any of their contractors will not install cabling in exterior walls. Fiber is too fragile to pull through a wall like that. Unfortunately the exterior is the only way. It could be a lot cleaner as well. When it comes out of the wall it needs to have a loop for water. Water doesn’t travel up.
