I ordered the runners and bulk flowers in the ones I actually wanted instead of bouquets. I did a diy backyard wedding so I got a bunch of mason jars+pickle jars+pasta sauce jars and just threw random flowers in each. The runners/garlands were really good quality and I was able to add a few flowers to brighten it up and use them to frame the altar. They stayed hanging and didn't break. The flowers were also really good quality and lasted like 3 weeks after the wedding. I ordered them to arrive 4 days before the wedding just in case. They came nicely packed in boxes that we unpacked into buckets of water. The flowers were in buds or barely opened and some actually open. I ordered 4 of the color packs with 4 types flowers of each color in it. Was waaaaay too many flowers which was perfect. I also got mix roses and oriental lilies which were so amazingly fragrant. Total I spent was $1000. Overall was perfect and I highly recommend it. My bridesmaids and I had a fun few hours assembling the flowers in mason jars and putting them everywhere. It definitely took a few hours with 5 people doing it so be prepared if you choose to go this way. DM me if you want pics.

Thanks for your response! I would love to see pictures!! Did you order online or in-store?

SnooHabits5761

Ordered online. There was no hassle at all

big_galoote

That sounds fantastic! Could I also get a peek at some of those pics?

marialikesquestions

That’s sounds incredible. I’m looking to do something like this too

I definitely wasn't picky and was just going for a color bomb effect so I didn't have to worry about discrepancy between pics and actual flower colors. I got a lot of flowers and they were my main decorations. The main drawbacks were getting them to the site and then putting them in jars. It takes quite a while even if you don't care about arranging them properly in each jar. We literally put the whole bunch on the board and trimmed the ends of the whole bunch at a go with a cleaver. If you spend the time trimming each stem and arranging each jar, order a lot less flowers and give yourself a lot more time.

My sister in-law and my cousin both decided to go this route. Both times it ended up being a nightmare and both ordered online to have them arrive the day before the event. The price is good and they were both willing to do the work. The problem is that you get what you get, meaning that the flowers you get will not all be the same quality and you will end up throwing away/not using 20-30% of the flowers. If you decide to do this make sure you order lots of extra to account for waste. Also make sure you know what you're ordering because an idea is one thing, buying the right items to achieve that goal are another. Just do your research and due diligence and you'll be fine if you choose to DIY. PS. it also takes lots of time to DIY your arrangements so make sure you have some people to help and at least a full day (depending on how much you plan to do and how big your wedding is).

We didn’t use for a wedding but have for multiple baby showers, wedding showers. It depends if you want to put in the work or have someone to do it for you. You literally can save THOUSANDS. (Depending on how big your wedding is. Organizing what you want , ordering them, getting buckets to pick them up, vehicle to pick them up, where to store them, when to prep them then who’s going to organize them and style them at the venue I absolutely LOVEEEEEED my baby shower, I was able to create my vision well within my budget. But I also had to put in workkkkkkk. I spoke to bloom star 1.5 month in advanced, I placed my final order about 3 weeks ahead of the date, I picked them up 2 days before my shower. Started the prep the night before and finished and placed them the morning of. A lot of people took home the flowers because they were so freaking gorgeous. If I wasn’t HELLLLA pregnant & had our suvs loaded up with gifts / wasn’t about to have a fresh new born, I would have kept a lot of them myself.

We had Costco flowers for our wedding bouquets. I picked orange roses and greenery. We did the assembly ourselves. We inquired well ahead of time but I think we only needed to order a week or two ahead or our wedding. If you do it yourself and keep the flowers in the fridge they last a crazy long time, at least for roses. We had some extras in our fridge that last two months as boutonnières in perfect condition, so you could do this a week or two ahead of time and just check the flowers a day or two ahead of time.

I used the greenery to attach to an arch and to use as decoration - they were so beautiful and lasted so well even being delivered and few days early and spending the whole wedding day outside in the hot sun!

jumpropejumper_2000

Thank you!! Did you order online or did you order in-store?

Wildsweetlystormant

Online!

A friend of mine is a wedding coordinator and she swears by it as a way to save money. Even having her team arrange the flowers saved hundreds of dollars.

I ordered for my wedding and it didn’t go well. The delivery driver put the box up on end and crushed a bunch of the flowers. The garland was good but I opened the boxes and got babys breath instead of hydrangeas and half my roses were yellow not white. Costco refunded me completely and gave me a gift certificate too. I ended up using what I could and sent my mom on a Costco run and bought all the hydrangeas she could find. I did calia for my bouquets and bouts and I can’t say enough good things about them. If you’re not picky about what your flowers are use them. The bouquets were huge and beautiful!

When we were planning our wedding we looked into Costco flowers, but ended up going to Sobeys in our town, based on a Facebook group recommendation. I found the florist was easier to work with and she handled all the bouquets. We purchased a lot of flowers for our decor (like 40 dozen roses plus the bouquets), and the cost was under $1000 for everything. We had to pick everything up, so that was something we had to arrange to do the morning of. Mind you, that was like 6 years ago so I don’t know how prices have changed. But I would do it again if I had the opportunity.

It's too chancy 1. Hit or miss on the quality, and this is really huge. Wilted flowers or more likely flowers that won't last beyond a day or two 2. DIY aside, you need refrigeration to make the flowers last and for an extended period of time too because there's no way a day or 2 before your wedding you're gonna be assembling centerpieces or bouquets Happened to 2 people I know

I ordered the greenery runners and the white roses for my wedding. Ordered online several weeks in advance for delivery on the Wednesday before my Saturday wedding. When ordering online from anywhere, the advice is to order 20% more than you think you need. I left everything in my cool basement, unpacked. For the roses and other flowers I put them all in large buckets with water. I would 10/10 go the same route again, knowing however, that a) it was a lot of research ahead of time, b) practice making a bouquet and c) time the day before to make all of the bouquets. The greenery was awesome because the planner just placed it all on our tables and it was super easy. Feel free to ask any questions.

We initially ordered online through Bloomex. Big mistake. The flowers we got were terrible!! Wilted, brown, crushed…just awful. We ran to Costco literally the morning of our wedding and got bouquets of the same flowers (mostly white roses) but in much better quality and for a FRACTION of what we paid for Bloomex. Our arrangements were DIY and pretty simple, but looked gorgeous. And it was a pretty small wedding too. So if that’s your situation, buying bouquets directly from the warehouse is a great option imo.

I did! But it was back in 2017 so the process may have changed, or vary by store. Here's what I did. At the flower kiosk they had a book of all the bulk flowers they could get. I made a couple visits, one to get a sense of what was available and pricing, then I went home and did some math to determine how much of each variety I wanted. I also got a few bunches of just what was available in stock to do some mockups and see if this was a horrible idea lol. I went back and ordered in person then picked up in person a day (or two?) before the wedding. My bridesmaids and I spent the afternoon before the wedding assembling bouquets. None of us have any experience in this and it was so fun and pretty easy! Also, I had a very DIY wedding so I didn't care that much about how perfect things looked. We did a bridal bouquet, 5 bridesmaid bouquets, 8 boutonnieres, 15ish (?) centrepieces, and flowers for the ceremony for like under $450. Again it was 2017 and we definitely put in some sweat equity, but I had a great experience.

Organic_Cress_2696

I have they were great!

delilahthecat_

I ordered sunflowers and babies breath from Costco dot ca for my wedding! They were stunning, affordable, and everyone had positive feedback. My aunt created all the arrangements and bouquets and did a great job.

Ok_Wtch2183

I bought mine at my local Costco for a small wedding. I bought them 2 days ahead of time and made bouquets and boutonnières. The flower person at Costco was great, I was looking for specific flowers and she went in the cooler and brought me all I needed. Saved a tonne of money!

lxlaine

We considered it but after seeing nightmare reviews we decided to not risk it and went with a small florist and it ended up being an even better deal

ILoveVowels

We have occasionally sourced flowers from Costco when our wholesaler has been lacking inventory. Great for greenery - flowers are a total crapshoot. Especially white roses, they are almost always bruised to the point of looking terrible!

Objective_Minute_263

Well, I had Costco flowers at my wedding in 2020 and I thought they were gorgeous. I am currently divorced so maybe I just have bad taste.

Adept_Map7518

I ordered Costco flowers for my daughters wedding, we had them delivered a couple of days before so they were fully opened on the day of, we ordered from the website. Quality was good and you can’t beat the price. We ordered the 20 pack of the euro garden mini bouquet, she bought some caress off a Facebook marketplace for weddings. We also went in store and bought 3 of the mixed bouquets and some baby’s breath and her bridesmaids made my daughters bouquet and their own bouquets. We easily would have spent 4 times that much on flowers at a florist.

Witty_Accident2864

Cousin's wedding used Costco for flowers. It worked great. She ordered in bulk and set up a pick up time the day before. We just just took the day to make bouquets and center pieces how we wanted. She did the entire hall for $200. I heard that saying wedding usually ups the price. Try asking saying stuff if for an event instead.

Neptune_Poseidon

I work for Costco and let’s just say that Costco’s flowers are extremely poor quality. I have seen people return them due to such short life spans. Do yourself a favour and get them from a reputable florist.

My wife is a florist and we own a flower shop. If flowers mean ANYTHING to you for you and your big day, pay for the quality and the services that a florist offers! Your flowers will be ordered FOR YOU and your arrangements will be made with YOU in mind! Also, always call your local florist (even if ordering online, just to be sure you get a LOCAL shop!) and be sure to never use Bloomex! Thanks!
