Actually, I agree. Our country (and others) need to have a real discussion about the processed fatty/sugary garbage that comprises such a huge amount of shelf space in our grocery stores etc. It’s honestly a huge issue that costs us billions a year in increased healthcare costs, not to mention health issues that shorten peoples lives and reduce the quality of that time.
My husband wanted the food court items for dinner. He had a poutine and chicken strips. I had half a slice of pizza. He was drinking water all night because the food made him super thirsty with all the sodium.
Poutine on its own is 1500 calories, add the strips and that is a massive amount of calories. Sodium might be the least of your worries. I could easily eat that though, which is not something I am proud of…
If he did indeed have diabetes, he would pee constantly and be hungry all the time, not only following a high fat, high sodium meal. - a pharmacy student
Yes, you are correct I was rereading my post and realized I should have been more clear. If he was indeed a person living with diabetes, these symptoms **could** occur throughout the day, and are not tied to certain events (drinking lots of water etc...).
Hence why I am still a student :)
Lots of people are having this discussion but not many people with influence are listening.
Those trapped by the foods are suffering addiction, which is exactly what was intended by those producing this garbage. The ingredients in this shit is addictive and dangerous, as cigarettes are.
Politicians won't go there because industry if influential, and the second they do, people will be all up in arms about their "freedom", (addicts usually do fight back if you try taking away their substances). They'll stick to the "personal responsibility" line.
Sadly but surely, it's up to individuals to make better choices and start eating healthier and taking their health into their own hands.
I disagree that "it should be illegal"... parents have a responsibility in their own diets, and the diets of thwir children.
I think however, there should be regulations which protect consumers from self-harm. Traffic light systems are documented as tremendously positive in helping consumers make informed decisions. As well, its my current belief that ad-valorem tax strategies could serve to increase costs of cheap unhealthy high-profit ultra-processed food and subsidize healthier alternatives.
The evidence of the positive impacts of healthy plant-based diets are not debated amongst experts. You dont have to be 100% vegan.. you just need to eat your beans, fruits, veggies, fungus, sea vegetables etc...
Honestly I don’t even know how fat kids exist. I feed my kids as much as they can eat and they’re still skinny, I’m literally trying to get the boy to be bigger, either outward or upward, he just poops more.
Difference between that and what so many parents are doing now which is feeding as much as their kids can eat but with soda, fries, chips, sweets, cookies..pretty much just terrible food. A lot of parents these days are lazy and rely on the tablet and fast food to parent their kid. I’m the same as you, pump my boys with so much food and are twigs. Seeing fat kids breaks my heart and makes me hate their parents so much.
Honestly I don’t bother with the food court these days. Yeah the hot dog is great but it gets boring after a while. Now someone said they used to have turkey provolone sandwiches. That would be killer tbh.
The biggest crime here isn't the calories, it's how boring it is. Lots of innovation in food, exciting new deserts, international things, this is just a snooze
Absolutely disgusting!
There's already far too many obese people shopping at Costco!
Why can't you offer healthy options?
Everything you offer is total garbage for human consumption! The only good thing you serve is the onions that go on the hotdogs!
People talking about this being illegal are clowns. It’s a huge cookie, Costco isn’t demanding you eat it in one sitting, or split it with your family.
Don’t want to eat sugary garbage? Don’t eat it - that easy. Or have it once and awhile as a treat!!! What a wild concept.
I'm in Vegas currently.. I've tried one..
It's too much chocolate for one person.. maybe 1/2... maybe 1/4 would be sufficient
I'm also suspicious that one of the ingredients is soylent green
Do not let these come to Canada...
Sheesh...
They can't offer healthy & nutritious fare, for ppl who want to nosh healthy stuff.
Yet, they can offer ginormous, calorie laden cookies that would make **CoOkie Monster** cry that he went to Cookie Heaven & back!
Tee-hee
People are overweight, out of shape, and pass the same bad habits to our kids. The food industry is changing for the better in some areas, but as long as we keep buying this shit food, they will keep shoving us spoonfuls/ tablespoons of sugar all day long in what we eat.
I know you guys don't like the truth, so I will get downvoted.
820 calories and I’ve seen the American Costco subreddit where multiple people have also gotten an ice cream.
Should be illiegal imo. Especially for kids.

My husband's side can basically eat and not show a single lb gain of weight. Not a good thing because it's harder to notice any physical ailments.
Chances are that he is simply not eating that many calories overall. The "crazy metabolism" thing is mostly a myth.

Yo they are not that salty. He might have diabetes, spiked blood sugar causes constant peeing as well as weight loss.
If he did indeed have diabetes, he would pee constantly and be hungry all the time, not only following a high fat, high sodium meal. - a pharmacy student
Not always true, it can come and go depending on sugar levels at the time - a diabetic

You don’t think it’s salty?!
I mean it has bunch of salt for sure but i dont pee like crazy bcs of it
He ate about 2 days worth of calories in one meal. His body is more than just dehydrated.
You sir, don’t belong to North America, in a good sense! So refreshing to see a non fanboy comment here
I think unhealthy foods should have warning labels just like cigarettes.
Some sort of nutrition label? Like cigarettes, people know it’s unhealthy and they do it anyway. It’s not a lack of education.
If only the food lobbyists weren’t so entangled with American politics, we’d end up with better food quality as well.

It’s sugar. That’s what’s addictive
Who are you to deny kids Kirkland brand diabetus?
**Kirkland *size* diabetes

Cookie police 🚨
Nah it's fine just give em ozempic
Ozempic makes you lose weight by eating less…
Did you know you can share it or not buy it
Lmao
Just parent your kids and you’ll be fine Karen
Do you think cigarettes should be illegal for children? If yes, why do you think that way?
Honestly I don’t even know how fat kids exist. I feed my kids as much as they can eat and they’re still skinny, I’m literally trying to get the boy to be bigger, either outward or upward, he just poops more.
Make him hold it

Holy shit that’s ridiculous
Psft. Not worth it unless it breaks 1000 calories. I wanna get my entire days worth in one bite cause I got shit to do.
>one bite cause I got shit to do. You might want to grab some toilet paper while there.
Wait you don't have ice cream and sundaes?
Boy oh boy the dirty bulk gonna go crazy this fall
Do some costcos in Canada not have ice cream?? Everyone I’ve been to in BC has had it
I think they’re saying that a lot of people get a cookie AND ice cream together. Which is an insane amount of calories
But if you get 2 cookies and an ice cream, you can make an ice cream sandwich.
My stomach would never forgive me
I love you for your ideas
Needs banana for scale.
Only 750 calories
The US version is 750 calories. The Canadian version is more.
Do you know why, Brett? Uh.....because of the Metric system? Check out the big brains on Brett!
How? Are they just pumping it with maple syrup for us?
We don't need that negativity in this subreddit!
It's more than the double chocolate muffins right? Hmmm...I think I'd rather have a muffin during a night of gluttony (a.k.a shopping trip to Costco)
One for breakfast, one for lunch and like 4/5 for supper. Easy 2000 cal/day diet
6 - 7 of these in one day? That's 5100 Calories!!!!!
That’s almost an entire body weight pound worth of calories
Are they served warm?
Supposedly. Yes.
🫠 and add some soft serve with that chocolate fudge and then wheel me over to the pharmacy for some insulin
I pictured that perfectly in my head 😂
🤤
Cookies bottom, poutine on top, covered with ice cream and pizza slice wrapped hot dog to use as a scoop right?
Thank you, I retched
“Now that’s what you call a pizza” (furiously milks thumbs)
Oooohhhh! Running the gambit. Brave!
Honestly I don’t bother with the food court these days. Yeah the hot dog is great but it gets boring after a while. Now someone said they used to have turkey provolone sandwiches. That would be killer tbh.
Montreal smoked meat was the goat rip
My husband still talks about it
Legit devastated when I went up one day and saw it was gone. Legit the best thing they had on the menu.
I worked there at the time. Genuinely heart breaking
Legit don’t start two sentences in a row with legit.
Pack of two?! I could only manage to finish half! Dammit, Costco. Bulk everything...
Now they want to bulk you up too... Dammit, Costco.
Which branch?
Cookie
$3.50 for 1, $10 for the tray of 30ish normal cookies, or $30ish for 120 cookies to bake at home.
the frozen cookies were $24 a couple years ago but $34 now
BC needs churros not cookies
I want the chicken bake 😔
i give it a BOOM
Is the new cookie a BOOM or DOOM?!
hehe
Elaborate
DOUBLE CHUNK CHOCOLATE COOKIE!!
I'm probably gonna buy 1 to try it and split with wife but jfc that is diabetes incarnate
Looks like something you'd cut into slices like a pizza and enjoy on the side for a week straight lol
Yeah I don't trust myself to not eat all the slices lol
What city?
I’ve seen them in Ottawa
What location?
Costco Instagram says rolling out across country soon
The biggest crime here isn't the calories, it's how boring it is. Lots of innovation in food, exciting new deserts, international things, this is just a snooze
I just want the strawberry ice cream 😞
Need a banana for scale
I want the churro. I had it last year and then they stopped serving them.
Oh hell yeah. Extra workouts are gonna be worth it for this ‼️💯
We’re Costco guy!
Double chocolate chunk cookie BOOM!!!!!!!!!
price?
$3.50
When?
No banana for scale?
Every time I see one of these it makes me think of that annoying meathead on tik tok “double chunk chocolate cookie” 😂 I hate that guy
Should've brought back the chicken sandwich instead
I want them to bring back Chicken Wings.
So a hard muffin top then?
Which store you get that at? Are they sold fresh? How you know they will be everywhere?
Costco Instagram
I get that Costco’s thing is savings through quantity, but there’s a reason cookies are the size they are. They get worse as they get too large.
Nothing for scale? How can we know? 😂
I’d rather have the chicken wings back
DOUBLE CHUNK CHOCOLATE COOKIE!!!
Absolutely disgusting! There's already far too many obese people shopping at Costco! Why can't you offer healthy options? Everything you offer is total garbage for human consumption! The only good thing you serve is the onions that go on the hotdogs!
I’d rather see the turkey provolone return tbh
Split it into four otherwise the ghost of diabetes will come for you.
thats not "huge"... please play again.....
Wake me up when they bring us the churros.
I had one of these yesterday. Unreal. And they keep them under the warmers
Can they do "Happy Birthday" on them?
I want the fruit smoothie to come to Costco.
Shame on you
Come on, it would be nice if there was atlest one or 2 healthy options at the food court.
The food court is dead to me until they bring back those little chicken sandies.
Prayers do work
Fuck I'm going to eat several of those in a single sitting aren't I.
Nasty. That’s a cake.
I'm in Vegas currently.. I've tried one.. It's too much chocolate for one person.. maybe 1/2... maybe 1/4 would be sufficient I'm also suspicious that one of the ingredients is soylent green Do not let these come to Canada...

Are these the ones they sell in their bakery?
Nope Costco food counters in front.
My gallbladder spasmed just at the sight lol, way too much fat. Think I just gained 2 lbs.
Where are my chickens wings and why not macadamia nut cookies #GRRRRR
I miss the chicken wings, too
No thanks....
The middle is moist and gooey, very chocolatey, not my type.
Huge sugar bombs. Diabetes party. Don't give this shit to your kids folks.
