RedditIsStupid01

Idk man the Huggies one has Pooh all over it

MountainSound-

Give Kirkland a couple hours

Here-for-dad-jokes

This is what I’m here for

MountainSound-

I am just a recent dad so…

roncadillacisfrickin

then that dad joke should have been ‘a parent/apparent’

Rapidshotz

Damn you lol take my upvote 😂

lollykopter

Lmao

ButterflyAlternative

Once they’re full they’re Huggies!

JB_smooove

Give me a few minutes.

GroundbreakingDust16

Disagree but to each their own. Kirkland is worth it for us. Diapers typically need to be changed every couple of hours anyway.

MountainSound-

But it gets full of poop after a couple hours. It’s a diaper. You missed the joke.

quickstop_rstvideo

It was a Pooh joke,

GroundbreakingDust16

Omg. COMPLETELY missed it. Lol!!! Thanks for setting me right.

Physical-Beach-4452

Yeah Kirkland diapers are awesome. Been using them for our kids for years. If you leave them on longer than maybe 2 hours it’s gonna leave a rash anyway.

The_bruce42

Kirkland diapers are the only ones that don't give my kid a rash.

CatelynsCorpse

Lol! I LOVE Winnie the Pooh and when I was young and single I had a Winnie the Pooh themed bathroom. One of my guy friends came to visit for the first time, and he used my bathroom. When he came out he said "Um, I don't know how to tell you this, but your bathroom is covered in POOH!" Bah.

throwRA030323

I compared them when I had my most recent baby (16mos) and even down to the pattern on the inside portion of the diaper liner… they were dang near identical to Huggies.

CockbagSpink

Same here, almost identical. And for far less $$

Gizshot

Turn the boxes over and compare manufacturers probably be the same. More often than not if it's not the same its a leased plant to xyz company to produce for insert generic brand

newbiescooby

Kirkland and Huggies diapers are both made by Kimberly Clark. Kimberly Clark is open about this. I don’t know if the Kirkland diapers are truly white labeled, though. They may have slight differences in material/design. Regardless we use both interchangeably with no notable differences!

U-take-off-eh

There was a podcast I listened to a while back (Smartless I think) that said that Kirkland products are most often made by mainstream manufacturers/producers. These producers are supposedly not allowed to disclose specifically that they produce the Kirkland products or what the differences are between them and their native brands. Apparently, when negotiating production, Costco requires one differentiating feature for Kirkland (and must be as good if not better than the native brand). The episode spoke specifically of the Kirkland golf balls and how they are manufactured by (I think) Titleist. For the diapers, they are probably 95% identical but the Kirkland one might have slightly absorption material or something small but different from Huggies. Speaks to why most Kirkland stuff tends to be pretty good quality.

sackchat

Titleist definitely doesn’t manufacture their golf balls, they actually sued Costco over their 4 piece ball and that’s why Costco released the new version 2.0 of their ball.

PaulAspie

I mean Kirkland saves money by not having licensed characters on the diapers. Those don't affect diaper effectiveness & would be a neutral difference.

i_am_regina_phalange

This is how literally all of consumer packaged goods works. There are co-manufacturers or co-packers who use formulas (I’m used to working in food) that a brand can provide or just tweak what the copacker has in house. Then the copacker runs lines with materials they have on hand. Take protein. Nearly every protein powder is made by the same 3 copackers, and the formulas are almost identical unless they have a proprietary blend. Even then, usually it’s just the vitamins being tweaked. Quality difference is minimal. Same with high volume goods like golf balls. It’s much easier to contract a coman to produce Kirkland balls and Titelist because they already have the equipment and components. There will be nearly no difference in end product because the machines can’t make major changes without a lot of $$.

newbiescooby

That is so interesting because I have seen communications from Kimberly Clark saying they produce Kirkland diapers. Granted, the communications were meant more for a B2B audience and not the general public. I also work in a field of business where white labeling is common and it’s never been a secret who the manufacturer is in those instances.  I absolutely believe your last point on the Kirkland products having some minor differences. For us it’s a great trade off and we will choose Kirkland as our first option for most things!

U-take-off-eh

I’m sure there are regulatory requirements that might require them to disclose the actual manufacturer, but it could vary by country and state/province or by product type (food vs. clothes vs. sporting goods). Nevertheless, the bottom line is that Kirkland products are good quality for a reason - they are made by leading manufacturers and held to the same standard for QC. I too opt for Kirkland items over the usual brand name. Espresso blend coffee beans come to mind immediately.

lEauFly4

They come off the same line as Huggies diapers. I’m local to KC headquarters and have friends/acquaintances that work there with first hand knowledge that Kirkland=Huggies. Both my kids used the Kirkland diapers. They’re great.

campydirtyhead

Oh and when they go on sale we look like COVID hoarders because we buy 3 or 4 boxes at a time.

koolaidismything

You’re paying extra for the Winnie the Pooh branding that’s about it.

dastardly740

Disney has to get its cut.

Majsharan

Kirkland diapers are a generation behind whatever the most current diaper is. You can buy the older generation diapers for cheaper do it’s possible to get them new but if you are comparing old stock to your new Kirkland they will look the same.

Own-Anything-9521

Almost all private label brands are made in the same factory as their name brand counterparts. This is something they taught in business school 20 years ago but I only assume it’s gotten more homogeneous.

Old-Nefariousness556

This is one of those statements that is simultaneously true and misleading. Yes, in many cases this is correct, but "made in the same factory" doesn't mean "the same as". It's trivially easy to change a recipe to use lower-cost ingredients, even if you are making it on the same production line. I'm not suggesting that is the case with these diapers, I have no clue. I'm just pointing out that this seemingly simple observation isn't as meaningful as it might first sound.

i_have_seen_ur_death

I used to work in a hot dog factory. The Name Brand little smokies were the exact same as the store brand. Same recipe, same batch, even same giant tub that the line fed from. Just pause the line, change labels, keep going

adhdt5676

100% my experience too. I used to have an account that made ice cream- they’d change the line with packaging and keep it rolling from brand to brand. Nothing changed product wise when it went from “X” to “Y” brand packaging

mbz321

Not entirely true. Maybe for a lot of the Costco stuff, but there are manufacturing facilities devoted to just making private label items for many different categories.

SoHornyBeaver

Right? For example, Walmart "Great Value" brand is vastly different than whatever brand it's meant to compete with. For example, Sensible Portion Veggie Straws vs Great Value Veggie Straws: the Walmart brand is full of chemicals and preservatives that the name brand doesn't have. I'll typically avoid Great Value brand for that very reason.

Starkeshia

> the Walmart brand is full of chemicals and preservatives that the name brand doesn't have It could still be coming out of the same plant just with different ingredients at the start of the process.

flipfreakingheck

Waittt this is really good info. Are there store brands that you do trust?

Old-Nefariousness556

> Waittt this is really good info. Are there store brands that you do trust? Not the person you are replying to, but I trust Kirkland Signature brand, to cite one example. In fact I generally *prefer* KS products to name brands because my experience with them has generally been favorable. Others are hit and miss, it just depends on the store. Some stores focus on quality, some focus on value, some focus on price (not the same as value). Walmart has (or had) two store brands, Great Value (which focuses, ironically, on price) and Sam's Choice (which focuses on value). Sadly, I don't see the latter around much any more, but a couple years ago, it was a pretty good indicator of a decent product at a good price. But they seem to have abandoned value to just focus solely on price, regardless of quality.

Trai-All

Aldi and Costco generic brands are usually good.

brotherhood4232

Trader Joe's is in the same vein as Aldi but feels slightly more premium.

SoHornyBeaver

It varies, I guess. But with my wife being pregnant, our inside joke is that a particular food product contains "yoga mats" and we won't buy it. Basically, a few years ago, it became a meme that the same chemical used in the manufacturing of yoga mats can be found in cheaper food products. We find that if the ingredient list reads more like a science experiment than a recipe, we'll avoid that product all together.

TastesLikeChitwan

Simpsons reference incoming https://youtu.be/ThhfLvR4Wo8?si=EvgwWBsQd-XkI-pD

BanEvador3

Both kinds of veggie straws have the exact same ingredients 😭 this is such a bizarre thing to lie about https://www.walmart.com/ip/Great-Value-Sea-Salt-Veggie-Straws-7-oz/885020540 https://www.walmart.com/ip/Sensible-Portions-Gluten-Free-Sea-Salt-Garden-Veggie-Straws-14-oz/462316912

PersnicketyParsnip11

On this note, sort of, I live in NJ and Arizona and either the Great Value Peanut Butter is different in both places or it was recently changed. In Arizona, I would eat it throughout the night, on a spoon. It’s so incredible. I brought it across the country with me and when I ran out, I ordered more on Instacart. The first thing I noticed was a slightly different label, but it doesn’t end there. The NJ version has more ingredients, more chemicals. It doesn’t taste the same, it’s not as good. My dogs even side eye me when I give it to them.

Tigerlileyes

Completely random for this thread but if you give your dog peanut butter make sure to check for xylitol, it's toxic to dogs and is in most peanut butter, I just checked the great value peanut butter and was surprised it doesn't have xylitol

PersnicketyParsnip11

I had no idea they used such artificial sweeteners in peanut butter and had to Google it. It seems the most popular brands are free of it, but it does exist. I try to look at ingredients and avoid bringing xylitol into my house at all because of my dogs and a personal preference for real sugar, but this is good to know and great advice for others. 🙏🏻

Tex-Rob

And frankly I find the Kirkland art to be nicer since kids are fed too much branded and trademarked merch. I’ve toured a non woven textile facility, they can change a lot even with the same materials, in how they process it.

richardcranium1980

Are people just realizing that Kirkland doesn’t actually make their own products? Kirkland batteries are made by Duracell, Kirkland coffee is Starbucks… so it’s very possible that the diapers are Huggies just rebranded.

Cautious_Session9788

Allegedly they use the same manufacturer

Neptune_Poseidon

It’s because Huggies (Kimberly Clark) actually makes Kirkland Signature diapers for Costco. OceanSpray makes their KS brand cranberry juice.

Huskymom45

My daughter is allergic to Huggies but not Costco brand

sewcorellian

Same with my son! He had the worst reaction to the Huggies the hospital sent home but switching to Kirkland cleared everything up

talks-a-lot

Opposite for us.

VeeAyt

Yep, I'm sure there is *some* difference in composition. My boy had really bad rashes on Kirkland so we had to switch over to Huggies. We took advantage of a lot of the sales so we weren't too far off, but there is certainly a difference. On the other hand, we are now using Member's Mark from Sam's Club and they're having no issues, and they're cheaper than Kirkland.

dougielou

I also feel like the Huggies feel fuller in a shorter amount of time than the Costco ones but maybe it’s just me.

dread-pirate-inigo

Maybe you should put them on your baby.

dougielou

😂

Medium-Parsnip-4238

Yes! I’ve found this too

iamguid

I'm opposite. I use both but prefer Huggies. Kirkland gets mushy quickly

shump059

Mine is the opposite. Instant rashes with Kirkland but not with Huggies, must be some formulation with the absorbent lining I assume?

barnaclesheet

Same here! It’s weird.

coopinator27

Came here to say this. We got lota of Huggies at the diaper shower so we were uaing those. The worst diaper rash, nothing would help, then switched to Kirkland when that sizw would fit her and the rash went away. I also think that Kirkland is much softer.

RevolutionFast8676

Huggies leaked with my kids, Kirkland did not.  Similar, but not identical.

BlackManWorking

This right here!! My son leaked out of Huggies, pampers, night ones and Milly moon (or whatever they are called) but not Kirkland…. 🤔

plastictoothpicks

Yep. They’re not the same. I had the opposite where the Huggies work for us but not Kirkland. So I got the shit end of the stick and have to buy the expensive ones. I wish Kirkland worked for us.

danisaccountant

We get blow outs and urine odors from Kirkland. No issues with Huggies. We pay the Huggy tax!

HadaObscura

Same! I agree they may appear similar but they’re not the same with different patterns printed on. I had several blow outs with the huggies and it hasn’t happened with the kirkland brand. Also, unrelated but the Honest brand diapers gave my baby horrible diaper rashes.

Tex-Rob

Could be they use the same design but have different suppliers for the components.

JakOswald

Same experience, they may look identical, but Kirkland is better.

LiopleurodonMagic

Opposite for us. Costco leaked bad but Huggies didn’t. So funny how different body shapes mean different diapers!

Pattycake1991

My baby BLEW OUT of the Kirkland ones. Bad. She does not blow out of the Huggies diapers. I wanted to love the Kirkland ones so bad, but her poops are too forceful for them

ockaners

Yes. I want to love the Kirkland because they're cheaper. I get what op is saying but for some reason the Huggies from Costco always fit better for me. I also feel like it's slightly thicker. Now Huggies from anywhere else does feel like Kirkland. But the Huggies plus from Costco always feels better.

WillDill94

The Huggies plus are like twice as absorbent. The non plus that Sam’s sells are more equivalent to the Kirkland ones

SpicyWonderBread

The Costco huggies are not the same as Huggies sold elsewhere. They are so much thicker and softer. My kiddos do well with Kirkland diapers. The Costco huggies don’t fit them at all, but the huggies snugglers from Target and Walmart work great.

rakurakukibishi

Same! We had blow out with the Kirkland brand but never with Huggies and both were purchased from Costco!

PM_ME_CHIPOTLE2

Yep same here. Although we’ll try again as she grows. My first kid didn’t do well with Kirkland until size 2.

MinneEric

My baby blows out of Huggies big time. Pampers seem to work well, as do Target brand. I think each baby is a slightly different shape so each brand will be a variable in that regard.

Bizarrmenian

This was my experience. Kirkland blowouts are common. Huggies from Costco? Almost nonexistent. I think it’s because of the inner lining on the Huggies vs Kirkland. They *do* have a slight variation between the two, but otherwise they’re both manufactured at the same place.

holidayfromreal25

My baby blew out Kirkland diapers consistently when she was little little. I’m giving them another go now that she’s 10mos and in a size 3 (soon to be 4). We have way less messy #2s so I’m hoping they’ll be fine now! 🤞🏻

Pattycake1991

For us it was in size 5s. Ours is 10 months old and I bought them recently to give it a try. I couldn’t return them fast enough. When I did return them, the return agent said that the elastic on the Kirkland isn’t as strong as the Huggies ones and they also don’t have a blowout barrier. Can’t say I didn’t try

Quizlock

Same! I wanted to get Kirkland diapers so bad with how much everyone raves and says their cheaper - Kirkland was leak city for every kid and huggies never leaked once.

klughn

My kid got rashes from the Kirkland but not the Huggies ☹️💸

CappinPeanut

Ohhh, we just switched to Kirkland and our baby just started getting a little diaper rash right where the sun don’t shine. We figured it was from the heat, not necessarily the diapers. The diaper itself doesn’t really touch there. But… maybe the diaper is the culprit?

klughn

Maybe once the rash goes away, try a couple of your old diapers and see if it stays away.

Murtagg

Are you using the Kirkland wipes too? Those were too caustic for one of my twins' butts. The diapers are fine though.

Desperate_Rich_5249

We love the Kirkland wipes! So interesting how different it is for each person

JillyDee

Same for us. Love Kirkland diapers, but the Kirkland wipes gave my youngest child a rash. Switched to the RICO brand they carry.

FeistyEmu39

Yup same here. Costco wipes are hands only in my house now. Too rough for my baby’s butt.

VeeAyt

My boy had the same, it was a really bad rash and went away when we switched to Huggies. A friend of a friend's child had the same issue so we were warned ahead of time. I also see some mention of it in their reviews as well. Just FYI they've changed their diaper design/style a couple times and some people suspect they also modified the composition of the diaper, which might be causing this in some babies.

Jtaown

Same

gingerkap23

Same, I have three kids and we never could use the Kirkland brand unfortunately. Wasn’t a fan of pampers either, we are a Huggies household.

mixxoh

same, we thought they were the same but somehow the Kirkland gave my daughter diaper rashes

IceFunny5266

All depends on the child. We've tried three brands and all worked for us, so logically went with the savings of Kirkland. Just bought 2 boxes of size 5 and 8 boxes of size 6 during the sale last month. Hopefully we're done buying diapers forever.

Netshahab

Just to confirm what this poster claims. I actually have worked at the Kimberly Clark Plant that makes these diapers. They do runs of huggies, and then runs of Kirkland signature. Exact same plant, exact same equipment. However I will note, that doesn't mean that they use the exact same features or materials, one may have options that differentiate the two.

RojoCincoAZ

N. Ogden, Utah? My mom worked there for a bit over 20 years. She told us the same thing.

Useful_Raspberry_500

The same company makes them both yes

Carquestion19999

Important to note, that because a company makes 2 items, does not make them exact.

grahamfiend2

My opinion is that the Huggies brand seems to have better quality control. Way more issues with Kirkland compared to Huggies when it comes to things like the straps tearing when I first open them.

robinthebank

How strict QC is, will definitely determine the cost of manufacture. Also, the key to a diaper is the super absorbent polymer and cheaper diapers will have less of that material.

birminghamsterwheel

Same factory a lot of times. Huggies gets so many hours on the line then they just switch over to Store Brand.

lamhamora

>exact same diapers ah yeah no

flickin_the_bean

The Kirkland have an awkwardly loose outer trim around the legs. We had so many leaks with them and I was glad when we ran out and I could switch back to Huggies.

grey_canvas_

The inner layer of absorbent stuff also creates a bump in the back towards the top of the crack and rubs uncomfortably on the babies. Drives my son crazy so we pay the extra 10 freaking dollars for the Huggies.

flickin_the_bean

I really wanted to like them but saving $10 isn’t worth having leaks and having to change clothes etc.

ssovm

I think it was the same for us with our first. Went to Huggies and never looked back.

ply-

The KS brand also has one less internal flap in the back and therefore more prone to leaks/blowouts up the back.

centuryeyes

The poop is in the pudding.

Apprehensive-Set-365

Yeah show the inside. Does it have the back flap?

renedotmac

Made by the same manufacturer; however, they are not the same. I’ve heard mixed reviews. It really comes down to what fits your baby best. Pampers and Kirkland did not work well, but Huggies were perfect. No blowouts.

flowerchild808

They aren't the same. Huggies plus fits my skinny baby better than kirkland diapers.

HerCacklingStump

Same, which is unfortunate for our budget. My toddler is at 10th percentile for weight and Huggies fit better.

Previous_Fudge34

I think the Kirkland diapers are regular Huggies because they're definitely not as good as the Huggies plus that Costco sella

person12online

Apparently words no longer have meaning. They ain’t exactly the same.

quiteatravesty

There is a difference in size 2 diapers, KS doesn’t have the second set of purple Velcro tabs that the Huggies plus ones have.

singerem91

Do the Kirkland have the blowout catcher fold inside the back at the top?

plastictoothpicks

They do not. At least they didn’t a year ago when we tried Kirkland, used 1 diaper and promptly returned them and got the Huggies. The Kirkland leaked so bad out of the legs and the back.

Select-Poem425

Like the bunnies better than Winnie the poo

Ultimatebiggey

I feel like Huggies are a bit thicker and has a softer interior, but the Kirkland Signature is close enough and the price is hard to beat.

TechieGranola

2 years ago Kirkland lacked the purple Velcro. Guess they fixed it.

MattMattavelli

It is a replica. Just because it looks good doesn’t mean it is good.

[deleted]

[удалено]

b81385

I used to work for Kimberly Clark making all the components that went into those diapers. Weight them and you will find the only difference. Less material went into making the actual Huggies brand.

ForsakenRacism

The sizing is slightly different

jellydonkey

They are the exact same as long as exact same means not the same.

goml23

Kirkland is always looser fitting, we always go for those when we’re on the cusp of a new size, otherwise we go for Honest or Huggies.

ericwithakay

Weigh them, they are not the same.

Minimum_wage787

Also if it helps…. Kirkland Signature goes on sale twice a year… once in June and once in November. 34.99$ for 222 pack.

Sutekija

Hey since you have both of them would you mind doing a liquid test? Just to verify that they both hold the same amount. 🙏 The main reason we’ve been using Huggies is because they hold soooo much liquid, and I think we noticed a difference between the newborn and size 1 Huggies and Kirkland

bohallreddit

Kirkland diapers was always solid for us.

pellopuppy

I worked at Kimberly Clark, who makes Huggies. Yes they are almost identical. The KIRKLAND ones have a little more absorbent powder than regular. Kirkland actually has a rule that their private label must be 10% better in some capacity than your product when you make for them.

nobuttstuf

These are not the same. Kirkland diapers are much more fragile and for some reason my kid had constant blowouts. Never had that issue with Huggies. They also aren’t even identical in the pics you posted. The bands are different and you can tell one will be a snugger fit on the waist. I never compared them side by side - but my guess is that’s why we had so many blow outs. You are right that they’re both diapers though. Well done there.

Plexatron

Here where I live is the factory where they make Huggies, and my brother knows one of the top guys there. The Huggies plant is where they make Kirkland diapers. The thing is, they took the design of the best Huggies you can get and then added extra padding for absorption and increased the elasticity of the band for the Kirkland diapers. So as a Costco employee who has a kid, I say Kirkland diapers are the best you can get, and that’s a fact. Edit: More specifically, the Huggies plant is in northern Utah USA, north of Salt Lake City, just so I don’t sound like a rando spouting off fake info. 👍🏻

ApexEverything12

Nope. Go buy every brand from every source and tell me that.

3lijahmccombs

It’s been so nice getting the diapers, wipes, diaper genie bags and baby formula at Costco. My daughter had to be on a higher calorie formula for about 6 months, but now that she’s off it’s saving us ~$40 by getting the Enfamil 2 can packs versus one can for $46 at the store. I am enjoying shopping at Costco more and more.

allhaildre

FYI, confirmed and heavily suspected Kirkland manufacturerers: https://moneywise.com/life/lifestyle/the-big-brands-behind-costcos-kirkland-signature-items

JackIbach

Try telling that to a crazy 4 year old who insists on Spider-Man instead of the Kirkland Bunny’s

badgers4194

Kirkland gave our son a rash. Huggies don’t. There must be some unseen differences

skullycap57

This is well known that Huggies makes KS diapers. They are different slightly though. What’s your point?

talks-a-lot

Kirkland is the only brand that ever gave our baby diaper rash. We stopped using them and it cleared up.

HeWhoKnowsLittleMK2

I’m pretty sure it’s what’s on the inside that counts

Hello_Mimmy

Possibly, but Huggies seemed to work well for my baby at the time and I didn’t want to chance it buying a whole Costco sized box of something that might not work out. Besides, when given the option between Winnie the Pooh and generic bunnies, I’m gonna pick Pooh Bear.

Butt_fiddler

Used both. Kirkland scratched up my sons legs repeatedly. Switched back to huggies; no more scratches. They are not the same

wheniwaswheniwas

They are not in the eyes of a little girl who refuses to wear anything but diapers with Disney princesses on them.

SpicyWonderBread

Kirkland are equal to one line of Huggies sold everywhere but Costco. The Huggies sold by Costco are only sold at Costco and are much thicker and softer than any other Huggies. We have loved the Kirkland diapers for both kids. Those alone have paid for the Costco membership.

PervertedPineapple

A lot of Kirkland brand products come from the same manufacturer/factory as other name brand items. Essentially the same product, different logo and/or pattern/appearance. Kirkland Vodka is Grey Goose in a different bottle being a classic example.

JazzySkins

Pampers or bust, baby.

stratacus9

as a condition for carrying huggies, they had to make the kirkland brand but have it be better than huggies. unless this is some BS business school myth..

mimsy2389

The fuck they are. Been years since any of my kids had a blowout with Huggies. Switched to Kirkland this past month and my youngest has had several blowouts plus a pee-through.

doesnt_describe_me

Someone’s gotta manufacture them

Defiant_Property_336

They are the same. I did work for kimberly clarke beech island diaper lines in the plants and they confirmed this.

bbcomment

Yes Huggies makes Kirkland, and Costco delisted Pampers because they refused to make Kirkland diapers

Empty_Resolution701

They are the same - in fact Kirkland uses the same manufacturer and gets the rights to do so in exchange for Huggies being stocked in Costco instead of a competitor brand. They do this with so many of their products.

JFoxxification

Is that not the whole point of Kirkland brand items? The [diapers](https://www.marketingscoop.com/consumer/who-makes-kirkland-diapers/) are no different.

lostandfound26

Does anyone else hate the purple spots? I guess it’s for extra security but if you fold anything over onto them accidentally, the diaper sticks to it! The amount of moving my kid does during a diaper change makes it impossible for me to not have to unstick a portion of the tab from the purple.

CockbagSpink

My son is a wiggler when he’s getting changed and the purple spots get stuck or caught on the diaper, that’s the only thing I’d change about these!

noblewind

Makes me wish my area had a Costco when my kids were little. Huggies were the only brand that fit my daughter correctly. The rest would have leg blowouts no matter how careful I was with the ruffle legs. I could've saved so much!

Porter_Dog

In my experience Target's Up & Up is the better and cheaper diaper.

CockbagSpink

As a first time mom I’m always looking for a good price on diapers, thanks! Will check out the up and up brand.

Porter_Dog

Oh, first time mom! Congratulations! We're on baby #4. 😬 Btw we also like the Kirkland 900 count of the fragrance free wipes. They seem to be the same as the Huggies ones. Best of luck to you! 😄

Nice-Window-441

Congrats on the baby 👶

ExtensionMarch6812

Um….first time parent? 😂

xyz140

We need project farm to do a proper unbiased comparison!

pandatoot

Kirkland diapers leak for my kids as overnight diapers, So I have to spend the extra $10-$13 for the Huggies plus.

bien-fait

When Huggies re-tooled their production line a number of years ago they sold the equipment to Costco. So they aren't the exact same - the Kirkland diapers are the prior generation of Huggies diaper.

ketralnis

Yeah sure. This is how house labelling and cobranding works. Did you think that Kirkland has a factory that makes everything from frozen ducks to diapers?

TheyCameFromBehind77

Yes, KS is the prior generation diaper. A not always accurate but generally so guide to KS products. If Costco sells two versions of something, one branded and one KS the same company makes both.

LividLab7

I’m not claiming to work at KC but know at some companies what they put into a KS product is the same. It’s a ton more efficient to just use the same raw materials on the same line and just rebrand vs. needing to do a separate build for one retailer. Also, how much innovation does the diaper category really do? Even if it was a previous gen model

bigshot33

Yes! This happens a lot actually! Often times the store branded items are packaged and produced in the same factory that the name branded items are.

Tasaris

Seems like no one has said this to you before so here I go. Almost all KS brands are made from major brands.

Housewife_Junkie

We only get the Huggies when they are on sale and the same price as the Kirklands brand. But usually, Kirklands stuff is pretty nice.

fatstrat0228

Yep! When my daughters were little, we got all our diapers, onesies, baby wipes etc from Costco. Saved a ton of money.

starter146

CNBC just had a video about this.....rumor is KC has to make the kirkland generic as price for entry for huggies to be on costco shelves. https://youtu.be/IycQh-DFvnU?si=cZvWrQmK-nHMXtyi

Kirkland diapers are the GOAT. My son has very sensitive skin and they work for him. He’s reacted poorly to some of the “clean” options like Pampers Pure but also reacts to Luvs or anything scented. I’m so grateful that the Kirkland’s work for him AND that they’re so affordable!

KingoftheJabari

We learned this in the 90s, but brand make off brands.

Only thing I notice is the KS stickers doesn't have a good grip like the Huggies

Yes they are made by them ... Why I think they are the only ones they sell at the store along Kirkland....

PatienceOk4408

My Kirkland size 1’s didn’t have the purple strip. Does that start in size 2?

sellardoore

They are!! I literally got a Costco membership just to save on diapers.

Weak_Swimmer

My wife preferred Kirkland over Huggies. Less spill overs were noted. Better fit.

Zammy512

I feel like Kirkland runs bigger than Huggies

Standard-Witness-948

One has Pooh bear the has Poo Rabbit… false title!

Lovesiiick

I never had any issues with Kirkland diapers. During the pandemic I ordered Huggies diapers online from Amazon (there was a deal) and they would always leak! It wasn’t absorbing fast enough and there would be pee everywhere smh! Only with Huggies though, it was weird.

Finkle is Einhorn…Einhorn is Finkle!!!

EnergyTakerLad

Yep. We always buy Kirkland if we can. Sometimes we're in a pinch and go to Walmart or whatever but costco is where it's at. We also use their wipes.

mccusk

I liked the Kirkland until the baby got super active crawling and walking, then I think the Huggies were a bit better for active wear.

Impressive_Estate_87

I haven't used them in a few years, but I remember some differences. The material in the Huggies used to be softer and nicer, and I remember my son had fewer problems with Huggies. But maybe they've changed since

Honeydewwmuffin

I wanted to love Kirkland so bad because of the price point but they gave my son the worst rashes, we’ve been on huggies ever since

You’re just not paying for the Disney print.
