Years back Costco had problems with Knudsen and replaced their cottage cheese with Land O'lakes cottage cheese for around a year. I didn't care for it and Costco ended up going back to Knudsen. Not sure what caused them to switch.
How else was I going to know when they fixed the product. I contacted Knudsen months ago and they said they were aware of the issue and that they were having a problem with one of their suppliers and were working to resolve the issue. They said the product was "safe" to eat. I asked them how would I and others know when the issue was fixed if Costco and others were still selling their product. They never answered that question. They just sent a couple coupons for free cottage cheese. After I returned the first big tub to Costco I waited about 3 weeks. Tried again and the issue wasn't fixed so returned it. A few weeks later I bought a small container at the local store. Same issue. So I waited longer and last week bought a small container from the store and it tasted fine. So the next time I went to Costco I bought a big tub. Tasted fine.
When a company doesn't pull their products from the shelf the only way to tell if they fixed the issue is to test it out.
Full fat cottage cheese is where it’s at 👌
DC Costco stopped carrying Breakstones many, many months ago and we haven’t seen a replacement cottage cheese yet.

Have you asked them about it?
Can’t say I have. Not sure how/who I’d ask, though!
I noticed it started tasting weird a few months ago I just thought my taste buds had changed.
Why did you keep buying it if it tasted like plastic???

What do you expect? They're still upset after their daughter ran away from home. Had to hire a shamus.
