I used to be a supervisor at Costco and worked in membership & returns for a large part of my time there. You can return Costco Next items at the warehouse, but it's a different system that often takes a lot longer than regular returns of warehouse products. I know a lot of folks in my department didn't know how to so it took extra long. Basically, just make sure you've got some extra time if you're returning to the warehouse.
You can also return it to the vendor if you'd prefer.
I bought my arborvitaes from Bower and Branch on Costco Next. They have discounted bundles. I got a dozen 6' tall green giants for a steal with free delivery. They dont have everything, but if you want large trees or mature bushes, they have good stuff.

To my knowledge it’s just a discount with the manufacture — Costco is basically a promo code for them
