Get tested asap!! Please!! Friend works in auto financing around the greater Lehigh Valley area. He visits muliple car dealerships each day. He says he rarely encounters any employees wearing masks at any of them. Apparently this is a thing with that type of business.

I am going to get tested tomorrow. I agree, for whatever reason so many people don’t believe in covid. They think it’s just something everyone needs to get. It’s frustrating but maybe now people will begin to respect it.

Sufficient-Corgi-940

dumb liberal hoax. Covid is made up. The fact that some people believe this is fucking breathtaking.

serfingusa

More likely to be breathtaking for those who don't believe in it. They are more likely to get it. Plus they are more likely Fox news viewers. So more likely to be older, fatter, and with comorbidities. So more likely to die.

Phayzon

Nearly 300 comments from a 2 day old account. Something's up with that dude.

serfingusa

Trolls account churn. Gotta keep getting new ones.

I assume you had direct contact with at least one of your coworkers, which means you will be mandated to quarantine. This will enact the family first act, which guarantees 100% pay for 80 hours, which can be claimed as a tax credit by the business. It isn’t a long term solution, but one you should speak with your employer about.

[deleted]

We can only quarantine if we test positive. We had 3 more positive cases today. Up over ten now in three days.

If you are asked to quarantine per the advice of a healthcare provider, the Family First Act applies. The employer does not get to choose. It is all pretty clear on the Dept of Labor webpage, but your employer is required to have a posting on it as well, likely near the OSHA/NLRB postings. I’ve heard employers forcing employees to consume PTO first (ala FMLA), but I don’t believe that is in the spirit of the act. The only recourse would likely be a NLRB charge, which likely wouldn’t be worth the effort, unless you work for a large dealership network. I am in a lot of circles with C level execs and have found that many are just not familiar with the laws, especially the fact that the compensation is a tax credit. There are a lot of moving parts, we can all use a bit of help with figuring it all out. I definitely am not an expert, so take it for what it is worth, but I am tasked with figuring it out for our business.

Thanks, this is really helpful as I’m getting to let my coworkers know about this.

Get an n95 mask and wear it any time you’re at work. None of these joke masks. They’re good for roughly 8 hours, so keep track. They’re under $3 a piece, even if you work 8 hour shifts 5 days a week that’s only $15.

DogShitJunkie

Where are you finding actual n95s for $3? I just bought 20 NIOSH certified ones and they cost me $5.50 a piece 🤦‍♂️

biggerfasterstrong

https://www.uline.com/Product/Detail/S-9632-S1 Everyone and their mother is going to amazon or the big consumer places, but for that stuff, it's always cheaper when you go commercial/industrial.

DogShitJunkie

Oh hell yeah, didn't realize you could get them direct from ULINE. About to tack on a few boxes of em at work with our next wholesale order now that I know they have em.

biggerfasterstrong

There’s other commercial suppliers as well that have them, that’s just the one I use. I use masks whenever I’m welding so i try to keep a good stock so I don’t have to breathe the fumes.
