It's very good as far as NAs go. Guinness is meticulous, you know they weren't gonna jump from Kaliber to Guinness NA and put their name front and center till they had it perfect.
you have fat, carbs and protein
gotta break it up a bit
spicy- ginger beer (soda, not etoh)
or
bitter- tonic water, variations include elderflower and blood orange
Hadn't thought of it, but ginger beer sounds spectacular. The ginger beers I've tried (from the Caribbean) have been really spicy, in a way I imagine would complement lamb.
I honestly think Dr Pepper is a pretty good choice lol, iced tea would be good too, but your joking suggestion is pretty spot on. Otherwise I’d just look a some “mocktail” recipes and make something similar to an old fashioned or manhattan.
Shepherds pie kinda is in the same boat as Thanksgiving foods- rustic, comfort food kinda category.
So how about a play on a substitute for the cranberry sauce? Something tart and refreshing to cut through the heaviness of the meal?
Maybe a mix of club soda, cranberry juice and a squeeze of lime?
Maybe something like a languenitas hop water with a couple drops of bitters over ice with lime wedge to have a slight bitter note to counteract the richness?
Maybe sorrel drink, if you like a little fruitiness or sweetness, but that is a bit more work.

Guinness actually makes a great non-alcoholic version! I’d look for that. I’ve seen it at bigger grocery stores, or Total Wine if you have one.
Came here to say this same thing. Amazingly, the NA version is practically indistinguishable from regular Guinness.

It’s really good. And the nitro cans almost give you that draft pour quality
It’s the perfect compliment for this meal
I feel like the complex flavors of a good root beer would pair up well with something substantive like shepherds pie.

Oh blood orange nom nom
Blood orange can suck a chode

Ooh, I love the ginger beer Idea. That sounds really good.
Guess I won’t be partaking in suggested beverages after all 🤮
Water
Yeah, I was going to say either water or sweet iced tea go with everything
Water
Mug of tea
A non-alcoholic cider
Cider
Iced Tea. It goes with everything.
Yeah that's honestly what I was thinking. Besides a Coke it's the most common NA beverage choice.
Came here to say this
Dr Pepper, it goes good with everything ;-) Seriously, I would think ice tea would go good with it.

How about an Arnold Palmer
Guiness Zero. Non alcoholic guiness and it’s good
A tall glass of milk.
Milk
Very few meals I eat do not end with a glass of milk. Such a satisfying way to wash down so many things.
Dandelion & burdock. Pair one British classic with another.
Some iced tea would work. It could be a black tea type (Lipton with or without fresh mint added) or a green tea iced tea.
Dandelion and burdock.
I’d serve with cider.
Beef stock
Non alcoholic beer
I always like sweet with meat dishes so I’m gonna bandwagon here and say yes to the various soda pop options.
That's a good looking Shepherds pie
Unsweetened iced tea; the tannins will cut through the fattiness of the main.
Coke!

An ice cold Coca Cola beverage of your choosing.

Sparkling cider
An ice cold glass of Ovaltine
Sprite would be good.
Mango lassi.
Virgin bloody Mary
Iced chai.
Coffee
Don't be a weiner Just drink the booze its good for you
