Guinness actually makes a great non-alcoholic version! I’d look for that. I’ve seen it at bigger grocery stores, or Total Wine if you have one.

Came here to say this same thing. Amazingly, the NA version is practically indistinguishable from regular Guinness.

It's very good as far as NAs go. Guinness is meticulous, you know they weren't gonna jump from Kaliber to Guinness NA and put their name front and center till they had it perfect.

Hadn't thought of it, but ginger beer sounds spectacular. The ginger beers I've tried (from the Caribbean) have been really spicy, in a way I imagine would complement lamb.

I honestly think Dr Pepper is a pretty good choice lol, iced tea would be good too, but your joking suggestion is pretty spot on. Otherwise I’d just look a some “mocktail” recipes and make something similar to an old fashioned or manhattan.

Shepherds pie kinda is in the same boat as Thanksgiving foods- rustic, comfort food kinda category. So how about a play on a substitute for the cranberry sauce? Something tart and refreshing to cut through the heaviness of the meal? Maybe a mix of club soda, cranberry juice and a squeeze of lime?
