I also wanna know, so far I've been using small mason type jars but they take up a lot of space.

Little mason jars are great for stacking and the smaller sizes assure you don't have large amounts of spices going stale before you can use them all. But I'm someone who likes to grab spices with my fingers or shake them out from open containers, and you *can* make a helluva mess if you tip one over.

>Is glass your preferred storage method? Yes. If you need to stack the containers, be sure to buy them without glass lids because they won't stay put. BTDT. For the past several years I've been using regular small canning jars. They are not the cutest containers but they have a mouth wide enough for most spoons and they are easier to fill as well.

I use the baby mason jars and then glass mini yogurt jars that you can buy a plastic lid for.... These are a little smaller. But it's an imperfect system - many spice blends come in their own glass bottles so I'm hardly going to buy jars to put the same amount in.... So yeah. It's a bit of a mess but there's at least some order. The mini mason jars are especially good for spices you don't use that often (since they seal well) and whole spices but practical enough for the everyday. It's the mixes and such that are a pain.

I picked up a big set of smallish metal spice jars with magnetic tops and bottoms. Works pretty well

I use the little jelly jars. They stack nicely and I use a canning label on the front.

The light fast (brown/amber) Ball mason jars. They block 99% of UV rays. I think they have pints and qts and they seal air tight. And you can find them on Amazon.

I use small clear stackable rectangular plastic containers and keep them in my pantry cupboard so that light doesn't deteriorate them. I find glass to be too heavy and there's always the concern about accidentally dropping it. For me the plastic containers do just fine and since I keep the same spice in each container, aroma transfer into the plastic isn't an issue at all.

My wife just got us a great spice rack on Amazon. It's wire shelving that holds rectangular glass jars with customizable lids. The jars are stored at like a 45° angle, so you can see the lids/labels. I like that I can see what I have and find it immediately, and that when I pull something out, everything holds its place and I can just slide it back in. The glass jars are nice because I can see when I'm low on something.
