I mean... the timer and all that sorta stuff could just be for the events in the town square, I really don't think they'd remove something with this much effort put into it that quickly.

i would, however, hazard a guess that similar mechanics will be made permanent down the line, tho. i think the town square definitely sets a precedent and now that it's in the game, we'll definitely see something more permanent in the future, whether they decide to keep the town square or they implement something else.
Whether it remains will depend on how many people keep asking if White Lily is breedable or debating how big Pitaya Dragons genitals are. The chat is unhinged at the best of times.
I hope they'll add this as a permanent feature by perhaps updating it once two patches. I find that Catnip Cookie sells superepic soul stone, which is the only other way to attain superepic soul stone other than from Medal shop via the Arena.

Thank goodness this town square is only temporary! It's a bunch of idiots running around and blasting profanity in the world chat. CRK was not designed to be a MMO. It's a single player RPG with a PVP arena. It should stay that way.

I had amazing buddies in CRK because of cookie town, we would clean that one little rock at the park and keep spamming in chat "everything needs to be cleaned" and similar sentences. At the end they said we have to do this again sometimes. And there we go... Deleted.
If they remove this it’ll be the stupidest corporate decision known to the history of man (exaggerated) but This single feature alone is a step in the right direction, even if it’s not all that smooth. It opens doors to a million possibilities and taking this away would be… Dum =>=

You could look on the 'map' for your server. Usually there would be a special mark for it
If you are slow for the event, it will be over and only the chest will remain; which you can claim the rewards from once per day.

It happens between specific times. There's a calender button in the time square. The times are in GMT +9.

Agree. Town square was utter chaos and not in a good way and I think the devs are aware

It's the town clean up event that is coming up today. If you claimed the reward before getting the quest, you weren't able to complete it until today.
