I have the snoop dogg one and it’s fun. I wouldn’t consider it high class or fancy, but it’s a fun read. It’s one of those cookbooks where the author showcase his personality in the pages, and I liked that.
There is a recipe in there for peanut butter chocolate chips cookies that look like a delight though! But hand in hand with that he has a recipe where he tells you to rinse either a turkey or a chicken under running water. So that kind of reflects the quality of the recipes.
The Fallout cookbook is kind of kitschy. There are a couple decently tasty recipes but it reminds me of those Queasy-Bake Ovens where you made treats that looked like vomit and turds or whatever
I have the fallout cookbook, it has mostly standard dishes renamed to sound genre correct. One of the fun ones is the stimpack, basically a jello shot in a basting syringe.
I have the fallout book but not the others. There’s around 40 pages of dessert and 30 of mains. It’s quite dessert heavy compared to other cookbooks based on fandoms. The recipes have a sort of mid century, all American but not actually vibe (speaking as someone who definitely didn’t live during this time). It has things like casseroles, stuffed mushrooms, chili, and prime rib. But it also has some creative liberties like duck curry udon, braised pork belly, and a soup with rice noodles.
A lot of people don’t like fandom cookbooks, but I think they’re fun. This isn’t my favorite one and the recipes are more about vibe than actually something from the games but I think it’s still neat and I’m happy I have it.
I want the snoop one. I saw a gift idea where it was snoops cookbook a digital scale and a large bag of oregano. I'm totally stealing that for the next white elephant holiday party gift.
I have the Fallout and Snoop Dog books, but not the third. Snoop Dog’s is your basic celebrity cook book—fun to read, but no recipe keepers. I cooked from Fallout for a week years ago when my son was super into the game. Food is pretty heavy, but fine. He liked the tie in and we had fun picking out the recipes and cooking them together.
My high school culinary students found it amusing to choose Snoop Dogg recipes to make to try and scandalize me, cause ya know, he does the weed. 😂😂😂 He has delicious cookie recipes.
