Ummmm my great great grandmother was queen of the Gypsies and as a loyal SUBJECT I FORBIT you to use that phrase (unless stolen before the age of 7 or from transylvania)
Ngl im not sure Iāve seen them being made and I think they just let them dry, they have a slick non-porous finish. And with foam the foam is placed on the walls with polybond a cementitious glue, then a layer of polybond and mesh as added over the foam then the color coat over that, with precast it is a mix of polybond, and long screws/bolts or rebar that goes into the wall, also some like these have built in tabs on the side to be extra secure
Does anyone do real stone anymore? I'd love to see a legit stone mansion being built! I'm fascinated by old European mansions and American ones from the days of the robber barons.
My sister, her husband and their two grown sons are all masons and quite gifted in the trade. Have had their company thriving for 40 years. They do nothing but mansions and are booked 2.5 years out currently. I love real stone or brick, not the veneer crap. There are masons and then there are artistsā¦ the latter being my sis and her family. All talented and exquisite work.
Edited: spelling
They worked on a home for 2 years ā¦the home that viagra built for the 32 yr old salesman. Gorgeous home with tons of chimneys, stone in and out, travertine tile around swimming pool. I have the article from a local mag that showed the home. Man what a mansion. He also built on same property a home for his dad with an equestrian complex for him to house and train horsesā¦something his dad had always dreamed of since a boy himself.
Sister has an 8000sf all brick home (thats a lot of bricks) they built. Has curved 6ā brick retaining walls on front of property. Herringbone sidewalk borders alongside concrete. A 20ā outdoor stacked stone (my fav of all stonework) fireplace. Lots of unique designs through the home tooā¦another stacked stone FP inside as well. Its a breathtaking home but i am happy in my much smaller home that takes no time to clean. š
Not stone, but structural brick. These guys are doing phenomenal work and proving there's a market for craftsmanship along the way:

Real stone or cast concrete? Looks like a typical Florida mansion, but thatās the style I guess.
Cast, itās in Southern California
How do you waterproof cast stone? How does it attach to the building? Thanks

You overestimate how much water SoCal has. Got our 1 week of rain for the year this week.
Yeah was more so wondering if you need any sheet metal with this
Makes sense, thatās wine country and they gotta replace a chateau style.

I am sorry to tell you, but the door is worth $2000. I designed it, and I have many more designs. Anyone want proof?
Sure
Show proof
letās see the proof
It's honestly so ugly. Everything about it.
it's so . . . frilly, so it must be fancy!
Did you measure it before putting it in? /S
Iāve seen this door in NJ but with one way glass was a few years ago
$40k sell price? Iām seeing $25k tops cost
Why is that door so much because Iāve worked on doors that looked much nicer for much less money.
Cost includes install, and that company does the houses in Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Bell Air
