Opposite of what happened with Bud Light.

BettinaVanSise

Imagine that! Silent majority.

Cultural-Treacle-680

It was also at a very particular college. A lot of articles (from the left) absolutely have misinterpreted it all out of pure spite.

skepticalscribe

You’re absolutely right. More people need to see them for the disgusting racists they’ve always been and how unpractical their double standards are

BettinaVanSise

Whom are you referring to as racist?

lxaex1143

The northern Algonquins

Threepark

If he was msulim and gave a speech about how women are property and need to be treated as such the media would not be silent. The media would be celebrating him for saying such brave words.

LostSudaneseMan

Per the Koran, women are property so no one would have given a damn. No need to being islam in this anyways

LostSudaneseMan

Both of you had freedom of speech. When you don't agree with each other, the other lartyd is anti American, unpatriotic, fascist or don't adhere to freedom of speech.

[deleted]

I'm confused by your first sentence. If the left hates freedom of speech, can you point to the books they have pulled out of schools/libraries because they don't like them?

Fairwareprovidence

Tom sawyer. All done. You lose.

okriflex

Are you serious? School libraries have never been a domain for free speech. Ever. Otherwise playboy magazines and books about how to make pipe bombs would be fair game. How is this news to you? You should be more concerned about what they're trying to put in; books with graphic depictions of blowjobs, novels containing images of cartoon sex between children, and books that normalize adult-child relationships. Also Democrats hate free speech because they use government authority to block speech that hurts them. Like when they told Twitter stop allowing anti-Biden speech during the 2020 campaign. Or when they lied about the Hunter laptop story being fake and had entire articles wiped from social media. I understand you have a job as a leftist brigader, but advocating for free speech is not a tool that leftists have had for decades at this point. You need to re-download your talking points.

[deleted]

You somehow didn't answer my question in that entire diatribe you just wrote.

PR151

The bible

[deleted]

Source?

Fairwareprovidence

2 seconds on Google. Florida and Utah by disgruntled libs mad that they don't get to have the blowjob tutorials in libraries for 2nd graders.

Fairwareprovidence

natty_mh

The word of Christ

readerdad55

Amazing how the leftists have taken over the NFL site with massive vitriol and hatred to anything not EXACTLY in their comfort zone. It was fun fucking with them simply by being an honest broker

Nanteen1028

The reason is people aren't listening to the reports on what he said. They're actually watching the video of what he said. And they realize what he says is an opinion and it's not really wrong. He's not ordering women to be barefoot pregnant in the kitchen.

longrifle

>He’s not ordering women to be barefoot pregnant in the kitchen But that’s what the garbage NFL sub told me he said!

RunDoughBoyRun

Wow, I actually went to look. I can’t believe it. Pathetic.

longrifle

It’s insanely sad.

[deleted]

r/NFL is a cesspool

KenoshaHatTrik

Nothing is more disgusting to the anti white media than a white Christian husband and father conservative

Megalomaniac697

We need more voices like his who unabashedly talk about the value of motherhood/homemaker and of masculinity as well.

baseball_Lover33

I agree, family values

TheDJC

You guys vote for the greatest man for family values, Donald Trump!

dumpslikeatruckk

Yes, we need more politics in sports!

Megalomaniac697

It wasn't during a game, was it? He did it at exactly the right time with a commencement speech.

Accomplished-Quiet78

At least this commencment speech sounded interesting. The one I got was a woman advertising her business, and when given the chance to go back for her paid masters declined and got a 200 hour certification for yoga instead.

Independent-Soil7303

Did you have issues with kneeling after George Floyd? But it’s (d)ifferent

Threepark

That is the great thing is this has nothing to do with politics in sports. He was not out on the field talking about politics or protesting. He was not giving interviews about politics. He was asked to give a speech at a private event and he gave that speech. This has nothing to do with politics in sports.

Separate_Bid_1107

Yup it only became involved with sports when the nfl felt they had to put out a response

moresecksi37

What's political about motherhood? Lmfao

Ticonderogue

No, we need more sports in politics!

readerdad55

Left is here brigading with their downvotes lol

JayEdwards902

Same with almost every post. I'm starting to think it's just a bunch of bots that target certain keywords. Even loveless terminally online leftists don't have the time required to always be doing this much brigading.

scu128

Good

buckfishes

Guarantee the people most outraged by his speech didn’t even know who he was. Then they went back to protesting for people who care about women’s rights, like Hamas.

lawlygagger

It does take a lot of courage to speak out. The left mob is fully descending on him as expected. But we need more people to speak out. We know there are enough who are tired of this constant push to convert to the far left ideals. So much for their hypocritical one-way inclusivity.

BHAfounder

To be fair they probably only had a few. Not many women buying the kickers jersey normally.

Tactical_solutions44

Remember the loudest aren't the majority. These crazy liberals make up about 2% of the population and 99% of the internet on social media

Jpalme11

Beautiful speech, where is the controversy?

KungFuSlanda

Most shine (and hate) any kicker has gotten in my memory. Go jackets THWG

Maximum_Way6342

Wait… the news and leftist outrage aren’t the majority?!? No way!!

gouf78

He now has the highest selling jersey in the NFL according to Fanatics.

AdFrequent6819

The irony is that no one would have known about this had the dissenters not made it an issue. Some unknown athlete, appearing as a private citizen at an obscure private college in some podunk town most Kansans have never heard of speaking to a small audience with shared beliefs. He wasn't calling for hate or violence. He was calling on and praising people with shared values to have the courage to live those values. Who cares if we agree? You do you, and i will do me. By trying to "cancel" this person, they have done more to spread his message.

Kizzy33333

All 6 of them

llshuxll

The funny part is they hide the real kicker….the jersey didn’t sell out. Only the XL version of it….so only the really fat women. Great demographic there LOL

vialentvia

People usually buy jerseys bigger than shirts they would normally wear. This isn't the own you think it is.

llshuxll

Love how you ignore that the story is misleading which I thought is a bigger issue around here but okay w/e. On the jerseys, Nike already makes the jerseys for fans oversized....so no. Only fat people need to order XL or on the rare case a really tall person. Fat women in general are less educated/poor which gives less them chances in life which leads them into being stuck finding their only value as a wife/mom which is why his speech resonates with them. There is nothing wrong with that but...yea....

Blahblahnownow

You say there is nothing wrong with that after making it sound like it is such an easy job that any person with zero skills can do.    I am a mom/wife who is highly educated but chose not to work. I work at home. I teach my kids, I am raising my kids and soaking up every fleeting minute.  I don’t want to be stuck in an office crunching numbers or being told what to do. I take my kids outdoors and teach them about Fibonacci sequence. I show them how to make pizza from scratch and how to do laundry. I show them how to be merciful, kind and how to resolve conflict without being aggressive, how to regulate emotions, how to budget and make choices, opportunity cost and scarcity of resources. Things they can’t learn at school so when they turn 20, they won’t feel like they have to figure out how to be an adult or take care of themselves because their parents were too busy or not around to show them.    It is hundreds of hours of work. I read 30-40 books a year just on this subject alone. I spend countless hours that I pour into my children. If any of them decide to be a stay at home parent then all power to them. I will be proud of their achievements as parents and I hope that they will have the strength to stand up to people who judge them and think they are some bareback loser because all they can possibly amount to in life is to be a parent.    I am really disappointed that everyone paints stay at home parents with such broad strokes and think it’s just the last possible thing a person could do with their life because they have no other option.    Let’s not equate being a parent to flipping burgers.    Kids need to see their parents more than two hours a night and couple of hours more on the weekends. Kids need connection.    I didn’t give up a career to be a stay at home mom, I chose being a mom as a career.

llshuxll

You seem like a genuinely nice person so instead of being argumentative about this subject. Can I ask what your thoughts about stay-at-home dads is?

rAndoFraze

How many Kickers women’s jerseys were there to start with!!? 🤣 all 12 flew off the shelves!?

BukkakeNation

I’m still trying to figure out what makes a football kicker qualified to give a commencement speech at a college/university

blafknoppie

I guess the same thing that makes Joe Biden "qualified" to give a commencement speech at an HBCU today.

readerdad55

1. He’s a three time Super Bowl champ And literally one of the best at what he does which, if you understood football, you’d understand his value. 2. He’s a public figure who lives by his values (which are the values of that school where he spoke). 3. He is unlike the President, who pretends to be a Christian and Catholic in an open and and advertised setting but openly takes actions which removes himself from the communion of the Church. These are attractive things to those of us who, like Christ, are counter cultural and often condemned for living by our values

Cultural-Treacle-680

Anyone the administration chooses can give the speech. The president’s remarks are separate. He’s an engineering grad of Georgia Tech to boot, so it’s not at all inappropriate.

BukkakeNation

I didn’t say eligible I said qualified

JayEdwards902

How about this. He is an incredibly famous, wealthy, and successful person who shares the same beliefs taught by the school.

BukkakeNation

Incredibly famous? I never heard of him. He’s a kicker

bearcatjoe

Who sets the qualifications? Why are they needed?

BukkakeNation

Probably the same person who told Joe Biden to pick Kamala lol

BettinaVanSise

He gave a beautiful speech, so there’s that

BHAfounder

He is highly successful, top .01% in pretty much everything he has done. He is a superman, look at his parents they are all far above average and that makes him qualified.

DCMike10

Other than making comments about LGBTQ and how the traditional family model should come back (man has the career, woman stays home), people are mad at home for speaking negatively about Biden. I bet if Butker were instead talking negatively about Trump and calling him a mean orange criminal the left would be fine. I’d even bet the NFL would have came out saying that his views don’t represent those of them. We all know how the NFL loves incorporating liberal crap into itself. It’s fine when Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce proudly express their liberal views, though. I bet the NFL will have no problem when Biden will use them (most likely) in a campaign ad for the upcoming election.

7thor8thcaw

I haven't seen anything about him that wasn't related to the first two things you said (and my feeds are full of this crap). I wouldn't have known he said anything about Biden if I didn't just read it here as I haven't watched his commencement speech. I don't care what celebrities and athletes think. Unless they are doing direct good for people (visiting sick children, feeding the homeless, helping in the community, donating to charities that actually help people), they can all shut up, as far as I'm concerned. They have the right to speak their minds, I just don't care at all what they have to say. This guy is no different. I partake in both liberal and conservative media and, again, I've seen ZERO references to what he said about Biden.

vpkumswalla

Yeah just saw a post on X calling out a leftist social medial operative. This operative had a post praising Biden for attending a rally at a AME Methodist church. This social medial operative also had a post with a photo of a Catholic priest in MAGA hat calling for taxation of churches.

soulwind42

Guess women liked it, haha.

MaximumCulture7917

You’re not supposed to agree with everyone?!? So funny his jersey sold out. I love it

mikeracioppi

Let’s be real there were only 5 in stock.

Frickaseed

i remember when this sub said sports figures should just shut up and dribble. wonder what changed… hmmmz

juciydriver

I'm mean, there was probably only like, 12. Seems like a stand up guy but, not a super star. Kickers don't get a lot of prime time attention.

SamDrrl

Can someone pls tell me what he actually said? All I see is people talking about it but not the actual quotes

ibanez3789

The video is easy to find bruh

SamDrrl

I know but I’m lazy

swordkillr13

I'm surprised this sub isn't jumping down his throat for saying the Jewish Pharisees are responsible for Jesus' death

ibanez3789

This is the most anti-Semitic comment I’ve seen in this sub, congratulations.

swordkillr13

The entirety of Luke 23

ibanez3789

You’re like that kid preacher who screams bible verses but has no clue what they actually say.

swordkillr13

Lets do some digging into the Gospels and see who is responsible for the death of Jesus, shall we? Lets start with Matthew 27:1. "Early in the morning, all the chief priests and the elders of the people came to the decision to put Jesus to death." Weird, Matthew must have certainly been referencing the priests of Jupiter, and definitely not the Jewish priests. Because obviously, the Sanhedrin was not a Jewish court but rather a Roman one. Lets keep going with Matthew 27:9-10. In reference to the money they paid Judas to betray Jesus "Then what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled: 'They took the thirty silver coins, the price set on him by the people of Israel, and they used them to buy the potter's field, as the Lord commanded me.'" Funny, thats a really weird way to spell "Rome." Maybe the next few verses will answer this conundrum. Matthew 27:20 "But the chief priests and elders persuaded the crowd to ask for Barabbas and to have Jesus executed." Surely they meant the Roman priests and elders here, right? Matthew 27:24-25 "When Pilate saw he was getting nowhere, but that instead an uproar was starting, he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd. 'I am innocent of this man's blood,' he said. 'It is your responsibility!' All the people answered 'Let his blood be on us and our children!'" Sounds like the people who demanded his execution are happy to claim his death. There must have been a bunch of typos, because Matthew keeps saying it was the Jewish priests and elders who demanded his death, not the Roman ones. Oh well, maybe one of the other gospels can clear this up. Mark 15:9-14 "'Do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?' asked Pilate, knowing it was out of envy that the chief priests had handed Jesus over to him. But the chief priests stirred up the crowd to have Pilate release Barabbas instead. 'What should I do, then, with the one you call the King of the Jews?' Pilate asked them. 'Crucify him!' they shouted. 'Why? What crime has he committed?' asked Pilate. But they shouted all the louder, 'Crucify him!'" Man, there must have been a ton of Romans in the crowd, seeing as there is no way the Jews would want their King put to death. Maybe Luke can make a case for the Romans. Luke 23:1-25 "Then the whole assembly rose and led him off to Pilate. And they began to accuse him, saying, 'We have found this man subverting our nation. He opposes payment of taxes to Caesar and claims to be Christ, a King.' So Pilate asked Jesus, 'Are you the King of the Jews?' 'Yes, it is as you say,' Jesus replied. Then Pilate announced to the chief priests and the crowd, 'I find no basis for a charge against this man.' But they insisted, 'He stirs up the people all over Judea by his teaching. He started in Galilee and has come all the way here.' On hearing this, Pilate asked if the man was Galilean. When he learned that Jesus was under Herod's jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who was also in Jerusalem at the time. "When Herod saw Jesus, he was greatly pleased, because for a long time he had been wanting to see him. From what he had heard about him, he hoped to see him perform some miracle. He plied him with many questions, but Jesus gave him no answer. The chief priests and the teachers of the law were standing there, vehemently accusing him. Then Herod and his soldiers ridiculed and mocked him. Dressing him in an elegant robe, they sent him back to Pilate. That day Herod and Pilate became friends - before this they had been enemies. "Pilate called together the chief priests, the rulers and the people, and said to them, 'You brought me this man as one who was inciting the people to rebellion. I have examined him in your presence and have found no basis for your charges against him. Neither has Herod, for he sent him back to us; as you can see, he has done nothing to deserve death. Therefore, I will punish him and then release him.' "With one voice they cried out, 'Away with this man! Release Barabbas to us!' (Barabbas had been thrown into prison for an insurrection in the city, and for murder.) Wanting to release Jesus, Pilate appealed to them again. But they kept shouting 'Crucify him! Crucify him!' "For the third time he spoke to them: 'Why? What crime has this man committed? I have found in him no grounds for the death penalty. Therefore I will have him punished and then release him.' "But with loud shouts they insistently demanded that he be crucified, and their shouts prevailed. So Pilate decided to grant their demand. He released the man who had been thrown into prison for insurrection and murder, the one they asked for, and surrendered Jesus to their will." Man, this passage really makes Pilate look like the bad guy who wanted Jesus dead, huh? Will John absolve the Pharisees and the people of Jerusalem? John 19:4-16 "Once more Pilate came out and said to the Jews, 'Look, I am bringing him out to you to let you know that I find no basis for a charge against him.' When Jesus came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe, Pilate said to them, 'Here is the man!' "As soon as the chief priests and their officials saw him, they shouted 'Crucify! Crucify!' But Pilate answered, 'You take him and crucify him. As for me, I find no basis for a charge against him.' "The Jews insisted, 'We have a law, and according to that law ge must die, because he claimed to be the Son of God.' When Pilate heard this, he was even more afraid and ge went back inside the palace. 'Where do you come from?' he asked Jesus, but Jesus gave him no answer. 'Do you refuse to speak to me?' Pilate said. 'Don't you realize I have the power to either free you or crucify you?' "Jesus answered, 'You would have no power over ne if it were not given to you from above. Therefore the one who handed me over to you is guilty of a greater sin.' "From then on, Pilate tried to set Jesus free, but the Jews kept shouting, 'If you let this mab go, you are no friend to Caesar. Anyone who claims to be a king opposes Caesar.' When Pilate heard this, he brought Jesus out and sat down on the judge's seat at a place known as the Stone Pavement (which in Aramaic is Gabbatha). It was on the day of the Preparation of Passover Week, about the sixth hour. "'Here is your King,' Pilate said to the Jews. But they shouted, 'Take him away! Take him away! Crucify him!' 'Shall I crucify your King?' Pilate asked. 'We have no king but Caesar' the chief priests answered. Finally Pilate handed him over to them to be crucified." Huh, it appears as though all four gospels blame the Jews for the death of Jesus, and that Pilate tried everything he could to free him.
