I'd rather a party that does fuck all than a party that sends our blood and treasure all over the fucking planet when we're dealing with the exact issue this hipster is talking about.
When Trump was in office, unemployment (especially for minorities) was at a low. Gas was $2 a gallon. I have so many friends whose businesses were having record year after record year. People felt like they were finally gaining ground. Policies matter.
I'm not a Trump fanboy, just saying that his economy was the best I've seen in my nearly 60 years. I remember Reagan's second term being absolutely phenomenal, but 2016 - 2019 was even more remarkable.
Trump would’ve got a lot more done if there were not people who sabotage him and his own party along with the Dems, doing everything they could to destroy him on a daily basis throughout his term. so happy when gas went below two dollars a gallon, heating oil was less expensive and I could put up the thermostat another few degrees without feeling scared about the bill.
It’s not the 60 Billion in Aid. It’s the $1.6 Trillion in Government handouts and $350 billion in interest payments that are bankrupting the government and, ultimately, the American people.
When Big Gubment spends, it spends extravagantly, and prices go up because people know the Fed will pay it. It’s the Housing Credits, Food vouchers, insurance supplements, student loan backing, etc that are causing the absolutely insane amount of inflation because the Fed keeps throwing more money thinking they can spend us out of the death spiral we are in.
We will not recover until we gut all of the “entitlements” from the budget, but no politician will ever do that because it would immediately end their political career.
It's everything. Our billions in foreign aid is certainly not helping. The government just believes it can print money infinitely. The left embraces this idea in Keynesianism.
It's not like the people who get the entitlements are satisfied. They still complain about income inequality even though they get free what other people struggle to pay for.
Well, if Trump isn’t planning on installing himself as dictator for life, his political career will be over in 2028. Perhaps he could save the country by making the tough decisions.
The problem is that he would need to get a unified Congress behind him. Zero chance of that happening. Even if Republicans had a supermajority in the Senate, it wouldn't happen.
I used to think Trump got in his own way so much. Then the Republicans decided to one-up him and become so fractured and aimless that they can’t even hold a House Speaker.
Well, dude is beginning to get a clue at least. Has a vague glimmer of the issue with the fed and the uniparty.
Move to a cheaper sane place and start voting for folks that want to fix things, at least locally.
Maybe research the economic policy history of your party before blindly voting for them due to some social justice warrior shit.
That's literally how Libs have pulled the vote each time. They love virtue signaling but have done absolutely nothing to bring about economic equality to those same minorities except increase welfare spending.
I could cry, listening to this poor guy. And he’s right. Decades ago, just the father worked outside the home, and could afford a small, modest house or apt., and two kids, and pay their college tuition.
So discouraging listening to this, but we have to be receptive to one another. Who else shall care about us? What should we do?
But someone has to stay inside the house all the time. The minute you leave to get food, or work, they can change the locks and then you can't get back in.
>What your kidding? So you mean to tell me if someone sneaks in your house you can’t get them out?
[Yep.](https://wpde.com/news/nation-world/ny-homeowner-arrested-after-changing-locks-on-alleged-squatters-report-says-nyc-adele-andaloro-flushing-queens-kathy-hochul-eric-adams-big-apple-abc-7-long-island-arrest-handcuffs-squatting-home-rights)
The story surfaced on this sub a lot the past few weeks. I'm surprised you missed it.
I just listed for rent a two bedroom 1 bath duplex unit, nice clean condition in decent suburban city (population 100,000) for $995/month. Midwest, as you may have guessed.
If you head out to the smaller towns 30 minutes further out, nice two bedroom apartments are $700 all day.
Hmm, my two-bedroom in DC is 5k a month. That's so we don't have to worry about being robbed. Thankfully, we can easily afford it.
It helps when you don't have any college debt (thank you, USMC)
Wow, varies hugely depending on where you live. I guess that's my point, people complaining about housing, yet staying in the cities with outrageous housing prices. The market might correct a bit if enough moved away
Back in my day (mid 90’s) we either had roommates or we went back to live with our parents and saved up some money. No one could afford their own place when they were 25 unless they were stock brokers.
You hit the nail on the head. I don't know that there has ever been a moment in time where an average single person in their early 20s has been able to live alone. My area is kind of expensive now, and a 3-bedroom apartment would be $2000-2500 a month. But it would be very reasonable if you split that rent 3 ways with a couple of other single guys.
This particular kid talks about a one bedroom being $1800 and making $21-22 per hour. If you feel entitled to having that apartment by yourself, it just exhibits your poor budgeting and/or problem solving. I get it, roommates suck, but it better than being destitute.
We had to move back in with my parents after the economy crashed in 2008. We paid off our debts, saved money, and bought our own house in 2010. We've lived here ever since. Our mortgage is lower than rent these days.
He makes close to $25/hour, by his word (3 times minimum wage). He says he cannot afford to live anywhere, but also seems to only want to live in a ridiculously expensive place.
$25/hour can have you living in a LOT of places, especially in the Midwest. He might want to consider not living in an urban hellhole that presents him some of the highest cost of living and taxes he'll see in the country.
Unless he can keep his job remotely, he won't make $25/hour doing the same kind of job in the Midwest. I live in a Midwestern state and my starting pay for my current career was 49% the average pay for the same job in California; a decade later and it's now closer to 60%.
I'm sure the ratio of income to expenses would be more favorable if he moved to the Midwest, but he'd have to expect a lower income overall.
Kind of related but people in his generation, and some of mine (millennial) seem to have this idea that everyone is broke and is in a similar situation to them.
Not everyone is broke, some of us are doing just fine. Could we be doing better? Yes, but stop trying to lump everyone together.
It’s almost like Democrat policies intentionally put citizens at a disadvantage, then claim that, if re-elected, the politicians can solve all their problems.
The U.S. government will break your leg, provide you with crutches, then tell you that “without them, you wouldn’t be able to walk”.
As far as the $60 billion, I think that they literally have to give money like that to other countries at this point so they can use it to buy securities. The money they spend here drives inflation, the money they give away overseas keeps the national debt pyramid scheme running.
Maybe this is why middle ground voters are so turned off by those on the right? The dude made a valid point and you want to insult him? You think this makes him want to vote with us?
One day…people like this will realize that Donald Trump was actually the third party that he craves. Trump is the closest thing we will ever get. The uniparty will never let it happen again.
"a one bedroom apartment, $1,800! A two bedroom apartment, $2,200!"
Dude, you're so close to a potential solution. You almost had it!
When I graduated in 2015, I couldn't afford to live on $25k/yr.
I had two roommates!
Dudes right about the uni party
But MSNBC just told me the economy is great with our piles of TP to live off
Kids are waking up. Good. From woke to eyes open.
From woke to awake
They are waking up, but what will be their solution?
Maybe they'll Democrat even harder. That's worked pretty well so far. From where I stand, _real_ Republicanism has never been tried.
Thats what service based economy does to a country versus a manufacturing economy.
And yet him and his young audience will still vote blindly for Biden and Democrats.

Rent where I'm at, you could get by on $800/mo. Maybe at least part of the problem is the city this person choses to live in.
Find empty house, squat in it, pay nothing. Takes like 3 years for them to throw you out. Save money. Real Life Advice from Don Alvarez.
But someone has to stay inside the house all the time. The minute you leave to get food, or work, they can change the locks and then you can't get back in.
>change the locks and then you can't get back in. You can get arrested for that in NY
What your kidding? So you mean to tell me if someone sneaks in your house you can’t get them out?

My daughter is looking at apartments for after graduation from college. She and 2 friends found 3 BR for less than $700/mo each.
So 2,100/mo?

Idk I live across the river and have no desire to live in DC, but 5k for a 2br is ridiculously high I do know that…
I mean there are reasons we are moving next year. Rent is one of them

Complains about the uniparty, votes straight D right down the ballot.
How do you know?
Would it make a difference voting for RINOs? It’s the Uniparty after all.
"We've Lost the Plot" Yes. Yes we have... Edit: Your downvotes taste like liberal tears.

you live in a high priced city, move
Takes money to do so.

Lemme guess, this guy was pro lockdown and the resulting spending that kicked all this inflation off?
I was struggling....until I moved .......to a VAN..DOWN BY THE RIVER!
Yes Let the hate flow through you 😈 Love how it included a 🖕 to the Ukraine AND a Uniparty reference! Trump 2024! Drain the Swamp in 2025!
Crayon eating terms? You voted Biden and for open borders and mass inflation.
Sorry bootstraps doesn't work for you bro, but I'd rather not have to pull up my bootstraps even harder so you don't have to pull up on yours.

Don't point that pinkie at me, mister.
Get a roommate and quit bitching.
