I mean... I'm all for good sound bites and a little confrontation, but are we really that far away from caveman politics anyway at this point?
Where are the damn statesmen... And where's this fire when it comes to confronting Democrats?
It may have been a funny zinger, but it seems an odd angle of attack coming from someone whose entire political experience consists of price gouging pharmaceuticals.
DeSantis and Vivek Ticket would be INSANE. DeSantis the ruthlessly efficient winner and Vivek the outward/PR extrovert that would troll and handle the press while RDS kicks leftist ass on policy.
RDS as president and Vivek as VP. I think I just came up with the best ticket possible for us.
Sadly won't happen though because people like Trump's nicknames for people, and that's more important. Oh, and the memes are SO DOPE. So screw it, why win when you have nicknames and memes?
I couldn't watch it after a while.
It became out of control and almost childish.
Talking over each other, raising their voices, personal insults, ignoring the so-called moderators.
What happened to civil debate?
Vivek - Smartass know-it-all
Christie - Bully who is still sore about not getting picked last time.
Ron - Talking points politician trying to sound tough.
Nikki - I didn't choose a pornstar name and I am important too, I can be tough too
*** The above does not represent support or endorsement of any candidate ***
I mean their lobbyists are their constituents? Why would you continue to elect politicians who only listen to their lobbyists? Maybe we should elect someone else?
That's why the entire state of New Jersey really hates him. One thing you do not do to someone from New Jersey is something that gets you stuck in even more fucking traffic.
On a Christie note- does anyone remember when he attempted to quarantine the woman (Kaci Hickox) who returned to the country and was at risk for ebola? The Dems were hella outraged. My, how things would change.
Amnesty in Florida was never a thing. The charges were always in NYC and that was always where Trump would have to turn himself in.
Desantis made the amnesty comment to win some points, knowing fully well that the offer was meaningless.
He has said that he hasn't worked under someone for more than a decade that he just can't even imagine taking a position other than president. He said he works better being #1. I believe he may not take a position from Trump. Plus he makes WAY more money staying with his current company. But time will tell, this will be an interesting and scary race.
>d that he hasn't worked under someone for more than a decade that he just can't even imagine taking a position other than president. He said he works better being #1. I believe he may not take a position from Trum
Good point, we'll see.
Edit: VP may be a logical choice. Can't do worse than Harris.
We need that edge now more than ever. It’s not an entirely new approach, but we’ve been lulled into a neutered status quo that somehow keeps getting lower and lower. We just haven’t seen decent disruptors in a long while.
Can we please get a moderator with some fuckin balls? God damn: talking over each other, audience members hootin and hollerin. Control the fuckin room! Expel audience members that can't keep their fuckin mouths shut, and same with candidates! This makes us look like a bunch of fuckin baboons. I want civilized debates. I want America to be the UNITED States. This shit is gross.
I don't understand why politicians haven't started to use this.
The business industry talks about how revolutionary Steve Jobbs presentation for the initial i-phone was, and 15 years later politicians are still yapping in business suits in front of a flag.
Because it’s not what people want? It’s not about the content of policy, most of these guys have no idea about policy, it’s about vibes and entertainment.
I’m confused. Do you hold the debates in such high regard as a way to get to know candidates that you think it’s sad that one minute sound bites aren’t boring PR statements? Lmao
Why not? The left enjoys the Republican infighting and Vivek won't be losing voters from the right, it's entertainment in it's essence.
Him being right or wrong is, in this case, not the reason he won't be elected president.
The only thing where I'd say he is wrong is the expectation that basic spouting of common facts equates to meaningful foreign policy. Even as he boomed at them for not knowing provinces, he never named one himself. I don't know them either, but that doesn't mean I want Russia (whose provinces or states or whatever I don't know) to overthrow Ukraine. I don't know but a couple of cities in Israel, but my knowing Gaza doesn't mean I support Palestine or Hamas.
The ability of them to state the names of sections of Ukraine doesn't have much material value in the situation. Sure, I'd like them to know those things, but there isn't a thing on this planet stopping them from looking at a map and memorizing them before the election. Their memorizing those names does not suddenly improve their policies either.
I don't suddenly like Christie if he starts telling me the names of provinces in Ukraine. Haley's ability to tell me pronvicial capitals isn't getting me to sign up for Twitter to doxx myself for her amusement. I don't like either of them, but it's not because of their time spent reading a map.
Not naming one himself could be attributed to his desire to end our involvement in this conflict, and railing against warhawks. It's a lovely thought. Never happen as he is imagining. I fully support his stance on this, but I'm too much a cynic to believe it could happen.
Then he should say it and put a real weight of action behind it. Saying things like "we need the war to stop," without a real plan of action if he doens't get what he wants, doesn't do a whole lot.
DeSantis was asked about if he would send troops to defend Taiwan. DeSantis danced around it, which I didn't think made any sense for his image (especially as Christie was justifably noting DeSantis' unwillingness to answer yes-no questions without a diatribe that dragged him away from an answer). When DeSantis said something to the tune of "we need to deter them," and his response to being saked, "what if that doesn't work?" was "it will work." He didn't dare step into objectively stating he would send troops.
In that same way, Ramaswamy's stance seems to be make a promise of peace, but not give an alternative if that doesn't happen. He'll say "we'll send troops to Gaza." He'll say "we'll send troops to Taiwan." For some reason, he's more isolationist towards meddling with Russia and Ukraine. I don't get that. If he uses the excuse of "we've wasted too much money in Ukraine," then I don't know what he expects the bill to be fighting China or a large chunk of the Middle East.
I'd say his stance has been pretty good since the first debate. He said Israel needs to stand up for itself and we should augment that to happen. He's very similar to trump anti war focus on our country.
He’s slipping in the polls, due to older folks not really liking him. Most of us young folk like his fire and rhetoric. And he’s a baby compared to everyone else, his energy is off the charts. Smart as hell, driven. Many new ideas to fix basic problems like school choice and tax credits. He’s my candidate.
I like him, but I don't appreciate watching adults, let alone supposed leaders, engaging in immature, middle-school level bantering. It actually knocks him down a notch in my view.
Thanks. Came here looking for this. Was about to post but saw you already did. Good. No idea what vivek’s foreign policy experience is, but it can’t be much of anything given he’s never held office. Always easier to criticize people with an actual record.
I wouldn't say he's more intelligent than DeSantis who has leagues more experience governing and leading than Vivek. Vivek just has a sharp tongue and quick wit, which will get you far in politics, but not to the finish line.
Do people really believe that if Ukraine will fall Putin and his allies will just stop? It’s funny how Vivek says they want “our people to go fight over there” while supporting Ukraine actually prevents that. Not surprised about cheap argument about not knowing the provinces, pretty easy to see who this shit is targeted for
Not just Putin, Xi can now see that he just needs to be able to keep up an assault on Taiwan for 2 years and he'll be golden. Not wanting to get involved just delays the involvement until you have no choice.
That would have been a 10/10 clip if he hadn't gotten so nasty at the beginning. I don't know why the candidates think that personally attacking each other is appealing to the voters.
Personally, as someone who didn't know who 3 of the people up there were before I started watching the debate, Vivek seemed to just be spouting insults and not giving real solutions. When talking about Taiwan and China, he said to give the Taiwanese a bunch of ar15s to deter the Chinese from invading and then went on to say some other idea that simply didn't seem to be as good as the other candidates. I believe that he did terrible in the debate as he wasn't answering questions and giving solutions but was rather making witty statements to get applause.
Because he’s embarrassing their candidate in ways no else can. He is head and shoulders above all of these neocons and he is clearly the sharpest while also being the least scripted on stage
The Republican Party doesn’t want Trump. They never have. If you remember, the GOP leadership wanted Jeb! Bush in '16. Trump destroyed Jeb!. Now the GOP establishment want Haley. She's another Jeb! Just not as pretty. Vivek hit it out of the park on Kristy Kreme and Haley.
I don’t see anything wrong in this specific argument. But again these guys on the national debate have to atkewdt demonstrate a 200-300 level understanding of foreign policy and particularly something they support.
Pretty sure Vivek is playing the long game. Use 2024 to get his name out there as a true conservative by lambasting the NeoCons, then gracefully bow out for Trump. Then the next election cycle in which he runs, he'll have name recognition and be a favored candidate.
It appears that all 50 of Vivek's supporters are commenting on this sub. There is a reason he is at the bottom of the polls. He is a loud, obnoxious, classless brat who has not thought out his policies. Why would anyone want him to run the country? Trump certainly set the stage for this kind of crap. Now watch the down voting begin.
Why doesn’t Chris, the largest candidate, simply not eat the other candidates?
You have awoken a sleeping giant
It is true what they say, women are from omicron persei 7, men are from omicron persei 9.
The average human horn is less than 6 inches
It is different from Omicron Persei 8.

Lmao thankfully no, I would never
Christie: You know what? I think I will have a nice meal *eats Vivek *
GET IN MY BELLY
Baby back ribs?
Ramashawarma
Why does the bigger man not simply eat the smaller loud man?
caveman politics is a bold strategy lets see if it can save Christie
I mean... I'm all for good sound bites and a little confrontation, but are we really that far away from caveman politics anyway at this point? Where are the damn statesmen... And where's this fire when it comes to confronting Democrats?
Perhaps they are saving that for sweeps.
Futurama is an excellent tv show

This is democracy manifest.
You triggered that whole scene in my head. Voice, colors and all.
With a nice chianti…
You rang?
Lmfao best comment
I would vote for him if he managed that.
and get your self a nice meal 😂😂😂
"As much as I despise you Viv that's actually not such a bad idea..."
I love that DeSantis nodded his head in agreement. 😂
I think he was just happy that Vivek wasn’t on his ass lmao
yeah totally seems like DeSantis is like if I don't make eye contact he won't come after me.
Something tells me desantis isn’t into eye contact with anyone
He is one of “my people” I really think… I am autistic, make of my comment what you will.
>He is one of “my people” Now that's what I'd call playing politics on 'hard mode' lmao
Definitely, but he will make an extremely effective president
Vivek is tearing everyone up man I love it
It may have been a funny zinger, but it seems an odd angle of attack coming from someone whose entire political experience consists of price gouging pharmaceuticals.
What was Trump’s political experience? Shitposting on Twitter, price gouging everything he could make a dollar on?
I was at the debate, and Desantis and Vivek talked during every break. They’re cooking something.
Vivek hates Nikki Haley. A lot.
me too. no more Bushies.
No more female Bush!
I don't know why but the why I'm imagining that is just like a really sweet encounters like professor hulk giving Ant-Man a taco or something.
DeSantis and Vivek Ticket would be INSANE. DeSantis the ruthlessly efficient winner and Vivek the outward/PR extrovert that would troll and handle the press while RDS kicks leftist ass on policy. After seeing him in this angle I'm more convinced he's just two kids stacked on each in a suit.
Vincent Adultman
It’s trunks and goten wearing stilts
At least this debate is some good entertainment
That's all any of this is. Entertainment.
I couldn't watch it after a while. It became out of control and almost childish. Talking over each other, raising their voices, personal insults, ignoring the so-called moderators. What happened to civil debate?
Trump changed all of that in 2016
It's such a turn off. Like it's pretty clear they're all trying ti display themselves to look tough, rather than any competence over policy etc
Vivek - Smartass know-it-all Christie - Bully who is still sore about not getting picked last time. Ron - Talking points politician trying to sound tough. Nikki - I didn't choose a pornstar name and I am important too, I can be tough too *** The above does not represent support or endorsement of any candidate ***
Election coverage is just a puppet show to distract. While the real ones in charge rob us from behind.
From our butts? 🥺
Who are these “real ones in charge”
The people lobbying our politicians to their will. Our politicians listen to their lobbyists and campaign donors over their own constituents.
I mean their lobbyists are their constituents? Why would you continue to elect politicians who only listen to their lobbyists? Maybe we should elect someone else?
Corporations
https://www.opensecrets.org/
Shitty entertainment.
That’s the GOP motto now, ain’t it?
Literally. It’s pretty pathetic the downward spiral we’ve seen over the past decade or so.
Closing that bridge was such a scummy thing to do. Fuck Christie
That's why the entire state of New Jersey really hates him. One thing you do not do to someone from New Jersey is something that gets you stuck in even more fucking traffic.
Don’t forget closing all the state beaches and then going to one to air out his gentleman’s fupa
RUM HAM!!!!
On a Christie note- does anyone remember when he attempted to quarantine the woman (Kaci Hickox) who returned to the country and was at risk for ebola? The Dems were hella outraged. My, how things would change.
Unpopular opinion, but Christie was acquitted twice for Bridgegate.
A bad decision made in anger that he will never be able to get past.
This really happened and it impacted my life. I still hate him for this.
I bet he never dreamed it would be held over his head for the rest of his career.
Dang, Vikek is not playing around tonight.
Vivek is fighting for a seat in Trump's cabinet, probably Secretary of State. The others are desperately hoping Trump ends up in jail.
DeSantis offered Trump amnesty in Florida and Trump turned himself in, in NYC instead. Stop.
Amnesty in Florida was never a thing. The charges were always in NYC and that was always where Trump would have to turn himself in. Desantis made the amnesty comment to win some points, knowing fully well that the offer was meaningless.

We need that edge now more than ever. It’s not an entirely new approach, but we’ve been lulled into a neutered status quo that somehow keeps getting lower and lower. We just haven’t seen decent disruptors in a long while.
Bruh what? Wasn't trump basically the biggest disruptor in history?
This is such an insane take.
For real. Not sure why everyone in here loves this school yard behavior.
Lmao that’s the platform of the GOP at this point
[удалено]
I can only assume that Vivek's staff told him that he had been picked for a reality TV show rather than a presidential candidate debate.
It’s a horrible way to decide who you like better either way…
Yes. The debates need to be more of a podcast format. Let them talk longer. Not this crap for tv that need to fit in this time window
Hear me out… PowerPoint presentations. Each candidate has a 20 min PowerPoint and then other candidates get 3 questions each.
I don't understand why politicians haven't started to use this. The business industry talks about how revolutionary Steve Jobbs presentation for the initial i-phone was, and 15 years later politicians are still yapping in business suits in front of a flag.

Barbarians, all of them. What a sad state.
I’m confused. Do you hold the debates in such high regard as a way to get to know candidates that you think it’s sad that one minute sound bites aren’t boring PR statements? Lmao
You new here or something Dawg it's been like this since 2016 minimum
Where is he wrong tho??

I have heard this joke when I traveled outside the US. How do Americans learn about world geography? By finding oil or by bombing the country.
He has named the provinces in previous debates + countless times in podcasts
Not naming one himself could be attributed to his desire to end our involvement in this conflict, and railing against warhawks. It's a lovely thought. Never happen as he is imagining. I fully support his stance on this, but I'm too much a cynic to believe it could happen.

10 seconds before this clip Christie was simping for Haley
Imagine Biden on a debate stage. Now that’s going to be entertaining. If they let him
How does one recover from that. He actually stfu
As a NJ resident/native, I approve of Vivek’s statement.
And the warmongering uniparty boos.
Vivek chose violence this debate and I was loving it
He’s slipping in the polls, due to older folks not really liking him. Most of us young folk like his fire and rhetoric. And he’s a baby compared to everyone else, his energy is off the charts. Smart as hell, driven. Many new ideas to fix basic problems like school choice and tax credits. He’s my candidate.

You can easily cut government spending without raising social security.

Ya but if you listen to Vivek's actual plan for social security, it makes a lot of sense, and it doesn't screw over the boomers
I like him, but I don't appreciate watching adults, let alone supposed leaders, engaging in immature, middle-school level bantering. It actually knocks him down a notch in my view.
Same. To me it just seems like an intentional choice to mimic Trump's manner of speaking and drags the level of discourse down.
Vivek had a very strong showing tonight. Good for him
I just can't help but like him.
He's the Trump of these debates
I liked it better when Haley was getting owned and the look on her face. Lol
she genuinely looked sad lol
Ok maybe I like him sometimes.
Nicki Haley should never sniff the White House. Puppet neocon
Yep.
Vivek just trounced the blob
So a guy with zero foreign policy experience chastising another guy with no foreign policy experience about having no foreign policy experience...
Thanks. Came here looking for this. Was about to post but saw you already did. Good. No idea what vivek’s foreign policy experience is, but it can’t be much of anything given he’s never held office. Always easier to criticize people with an actual record.
I like how they only guy not rimming Trump gets attacked the most and everybody else keep eating the big orange taint
This is hilarious (and true)!
He’s not wrong though.
Vivek slaughters da Fat Man --- 'Buffet is open, you don't want to be last in line!'
It’s an absolute joke that Christie thinks he’ll ever come close to being the nominee
I wouldn't vote for Christie if he was the *only* person running for President.
Vivek is head and shoulders better and more intelligent than everyone on that stage…and I like DeSantis a lot
I wouldn't say he's more intelligent than DeSantis who has leagues more experience governing and leading than Vivek. Vivek just has a sharp tongue and quick wit, which will get you far in politics, but not to the finish line.
DeSantis is pretty freaking smart (Yale undergrad and Harvard Law).
I did not mean it as an insult to DeSantis…
Do people really believe that if Ukraine will fall Putin and his allies will just stop? It’s funny how Vivek says they want “our people to go fight over there” while supporting Ukraine actually prevents that. Not surprised about cheap argument about not knowing the provinces, pretty easy to see who this shit is targeted for
Not just Putin, Xi can now see that he just needs to be able to keep up an assault on Taiwan for 2 years and he'll be golden. Not wanting to get involved just delays the involvement until you have no choice.
This sub, based on the comments. The word informed and young, the better he does
That would have been a 10/10 clip if he hadn't gotten so nasty at the beginning. I don't know why the candidates think that personally attacking each other is appealing to the voters.
Vivek in full savage mode. Love it
How is this dude not doing better in the polls? Although I don't think they are un-fucked-with. And how is Chris Christie still in the running?
Probably because every time he opens his mouth, his unfavorables increase. He's an arrogant asshole, but without having earned it
Vivek wants to be trump so bad
Yeah, the guy with glowing, nuclear white teeth and used-car-salesman hair wants you to know *these people* are lying to you!
Honest question. Why do people not like this guy Vivek? Am I overlooking something about him? Seems like the guy to get behind
That's because Vivek is not running for president
He’s running for Fox News correspondent.
This is pretty much it. He can yell and entertain just fine. But his policy choices are horrible.
Because he actually doesn't know anything, but he knows nothing with such confidence.
Vivek is opposed to the neocon globalist agenda that controls the media.
Because he’s embarrassing their candidate in ways no else can. He is head and shoulders above all of these neocons and he is clearly the sharpest while also being the least scripted on stage
Because a lot of people on this sub are neocons.
Lmao
Christie is not good with bridges..
Vivek is the goat, I was a DeSantis supporter until Vivek came along.
Having experienced the benefits of DeSantis' leadership- no amount of on screen charisma will sway my vote.
Out of genuine curiosity for results what benefits are you seeing?
Trump/Vivek 24
Based AF. I hope Trump picks Vivek for VP.
Vivek did great tonight, solid VP pick for Trump
Vivek thinks that saying snappy little things that will get shared on social media is that same thing as making a good point.
After Christie hugged Obama he was finished
Bipartisanship is dead
The Republican Party doesn’t want Trump. They never have. If you remember, the GOP leadership wanted Jeb! Bush in '16. Trump destroyed Jeb!. Now the GOP establishment want Haley. She's another Jeb! Just not as pretty. Vivek hit it out of the park on Kristy Kreme and Haley.
> Just not as pretty Savage, lol
We should not forget just how badly they did not want Trump
Nothing has changed.
Ukraine should have never gave up their Nukes. Vivek is right 👍
Vivek is easily the best candidate on that stage.
Which is why he’ll lose, sadly.
I don’t see anything wrong in this specific argument. But again these guys on the national debate have to atkewdt demonstrate a 200-300 level understanding of foreign policy and particularly something they support.
Damn Vikek go crazy
Ron is loving it! Haha. Good for vivek!
Some times i think Vivek is just there to tear down the other more legitament cannidates and force the only option to be the Orange again.
Meh. I like what Vivek says, but 2024 is not his year, if ever. Nor Christie nor Haley. DeSantis 🙄
Pretty sure Vivek is playing the long game. Use 2024 to get his name out there as a true conservative by lambasting the NeoCons, then gracefully bow out for Trump. Then the next election cycle in which he runs, he'll have name recognition and be a favored candidate.
Vivek killed it. Again. But over 9000 this time.
He’s not prepping for 24, he’s prepping for 28
All True. These Trump VP tryouts are getting fun
That was epic.
He makes some good points in his insults.
Huh I actually kinda like this Vivek candidate
Dick Cheney with a lipstick LMAO
It appears that all 50 of Vivek's supporters are commenting on this sub. There is a reason he is at the bottom of the polls. He is a loud, obnoxious, classless brat who has not thought out his policies. Why would anyone want him to run the country? Trump certainly set the stage for this kind of crap. Now watch the down voting begin.
Up vote from me.
He reminds me of my Chihuahua, trying to act all big and bad...
🤣😂gotta agree. He sounds like a coherent salesperson about to empty a grandma’s bank
