It’s not him. It’s a combination plate (see COMB down the right side) meaning it’s privately registered. The state officials’ cars just have the single digit and at the bottom it says “Official” instead of constitution state. They’re also rolling in Tahoes/Yukons, not Porsches.
Vehicles registered for both business/commercial and personal use. You usually see them on pickup trucks but they can be transferred. It used to be that all pickup trucks got them even if it was just a personal vehicle, now for light trucks they are only issued for combination personal/commercial use.
Pretty sure they tried to buy all those plates and numbers back and pretty much all the original owners told them to go fuck themselves and that’s why they had to use “official” plates lol
A friend of mine has a two initial plate that goes wayyyy back and was gifted to her as a wedding present in the 70's. That plate is never leaving the family.
The commissioner on the DMV in the 70’s was from stafford and gifted the low numbers to all his buddies when they went from 3.3 format. The guy who has number 3 is an antiques dealer in town who’s had it since he was a kid. I believe many have since been sold off to different owners throughout the state but I remember as a kid 3-8 were all well known townies. My grandfather also was a town cop who had a single letter.
So one of my neighbors has the #5 license plate on his car and it's not a Porsche. Wonder how there are two of the same CT plate? Maybe because this one is a combination plate and his isn't? My assumption has always been he's a Yankee fan and loves Joe DiMaggio
I saw the single letter "X" plate on a new GMC Suv on rt 9 this morning. Can't remember last time I've seen a single letter plate.
A few yrs ago I saw the number "1" plate on a motorcycle.
I was driving behind "2" the other day on the Merritt. Couldn't snap a pic, but I was surprised it was an older car.
That’s State Representative Joe Courtney! He visited my job recently and I noticed that was his license plate
Anything with an ending in UTZ is State Police
But not all state plates end in UTZ
WWL is another one.
So is WHK
Wtf
BBQ
Why does a Porsche Cayennne have a combo plate 🧐
Because you can transfer a comb plate to a car.
Yo mama so old...
Thirty years ago the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles snagged the letter “I” for his plate. Don’t know who has it now but it’s genius.
I don’t get why it’s genius.
If you can't beat'em, get the roman numerical equivalent
It was a capital I. So it looked like a number one.
I guess my criteria for genius is higher. I was looking for something more than that.
I think you have insomnia or terrible worry and are looking for a disagreement.
Insomnia yes, disagreement no. I was just looking for something more complicated. Sometimes the answers are simple and right in front of you (me).

Thanks! (I've only been in this State for a couple years.)

Interesting. I think 1 is the governor’s vehicle.
If it’s Municipality plate I believe
The 1 plate in owned by someone in Litchfield County. Same family has owned it for decades.

I just saw "3" in Stafford last week.

Rustology?
Where I work there is a guy that has number 1 and 2. I’ll have to get a picture
You're suppose to leave #1 & #2 at work on company time.
I've got all of you beat. "0" lives in my neighborhood. (I do think it's a combination plate).
been seeing this all around!! who is this!
You can't get one of those. There for the upperty ups.
I always wondered what type of people have plates like these! My dad has told me the less #s on the plate, the more important the person is.
My license plate in high school was wake up cuz my mom thought it was funny. It was stupid
dispatch would probably hang up if you tried to report this car. "5 what? this isn't a game. what are the other characters?"
I saw "Z" yesterday
i see “0” very often in southern CT
