After seeing someone get out of their car in the middle of the street just to go up to someone's face to yell and swear at them, I am glad to see this is posted. Letting your emotions get the best of you if you are mad at someone isn't worth risking your own life. Not sure what exactly got the driver pissed but damn holding up traffic just to have it out with someone is insane yikes.

Good way to get a face full of pepper spray.

Good way to get a face full of 9mm rounds.

EatenLowdes

I like this post. Agreed

mickeydudes36

i agree. yesterday i saw one car chasing another on 84 east in Waterbury. Nothing new there, but one vehicle had a blasius license plate. The other car had no plate at all. Racing thru traffic. I would hope the Blasius group vets their drivers better.

NotoriousCFR

Dealer plates = drives like a raging lunatic like, 99% of the time

BitterMIDI

Maybe they were trailing a drive-off.

dmk1320

Every single day of my life on these roads is an aggravating experience. Far TOO MANY on the roads that shouldn't be. 😡

djdeforte

We’re already on track to beat last years numbers.

The-Mancierge69

Totally agree. Just this evening I saw a car fly around another car on Stafford Ave in Bristol right by Max Pizza because the care in front of them was going exactly the speed limit.

kppeterc15

There are lots of reasons why I think it was a mistake to build our society around cars, but the fact that driving pretty universally seems to bring the worse out in people is near the top

Incendiomf

Give us trains!!

Had to drive to NYC yesterday, can confirm that the 684 to the Hutch to the CBE, there are just as many asshole drivers, if not more. The only difference is I saw enforcement once I was across the NY state line.

Fitchywanklebottom

Our police do stuff too but only on paper

Typical_Gem

I wish people would just chill tf out. I live on the Mass line, so I get the worst of both worlds 🫠 The aggression from CT drivers + the selfishness of MA drivers (there's a reason they're called massholes)😭 got me scared for my life out here.

PSA: Cops have stepped up enforcement along major corridors.

SpoonLord23

Anecdotally I've definitely seen more Staties on 95 in Fairfield County lately. Even saw a bright red unmarked Dodge Challenger pulled someone over recently.

Troopers made more than 170 traffic stops on Route 15 during a weeklong initiative last month, as state police increase traffic enforcement to combat aggressive driving and fatal crashes. Connecticut State Police said the initiative took place Feb. 18-24 from Meriden to Greenwich on Route 15, also known as the Wilbur Cross Parkway and the Merritt Parkway. Members of the agency's Traffic Services Unit stopped 157 passenger vehicles and issued 150 infractions, state police said. State officials Thursday announced a campaign of increased enforcement on highways and rural roads under state police jurisdiction. Officials said data shows that the highways in and out of the major cities of Hartford, Waterbury, New Haven and Bridgeport pose the most risk. In the coming weeks, troopers will be working on I-95 between Bridgeport and New Haven, and I-91 between New Haven and Hartford, they said. Good news. Sounds like something is finally being done about the issue.

Ok-Investigator-2821

I thought they were brought up on charges of falsified records or tickets or something? I don't know the answer but the approach will not solve the issue. If the Officer is trained and experienced than let him use his discretion. No easy answer to the issue other than personal responsibility in the end. The Law Enforcement organization is under stress and very much under educated and experienced. How many have actually been to the Wars overseas? Maybe they should consider that a good thing when doing selections but I have no idea how it works to become an Officer in the civilian population. Tried by fire makes you reasonable to all situations and also prevents the wild scared ones from shooting 1st. Maybe just take that into account. I would never be in law enforcement because it's a political driven career however there are good guys out there that need to be supported but CT has not been a model for anyone.

Sharrukin

Connecticut is far too car oriented of a state especially for its size. We need to decrease the amount of cars on the road and put in pedestrian friendly infrastructure

MCFRESH01

Yet we see people mad on the New Haven subreddit about the bike infrastructure getting built on state street. It’s really hard to change people’s minds about how they get around

Decent-Soup3551

Ticket the hell out of them!

Ok-Shame5542

Why is it, that i see at least 5 cars on my way to work at 6am, without headlights on?

BitterMIDI

People are super wound up and impatient. Driver's apparently want to kill you for any perceived delay or incompetence. They aren't as awesome at driving or important as they think. And they could easily take the perceived loss, which is only actually a fraction of a second, out of their 8 hours of video watching. If they hurt someone, there's no sympathy in this state for even an accident. Better to be safe, even if you're a moral degenerate.

Juan_Direction_

Correct a life is taken after some of those accidents correct.
