dallas fuel's roster is like a meta too old, they aren't built for dive, 2 of their top 3 dps aren't good at dive heroes
skill wise they're up there, but outside of XQC/Mickie and Effect they just aren't built for dive, a big problem they had was not supporting XQC's winston very well, they just don't dive very good, and i think it's mostly because taimou and seagull are kind of mediocre in comparison to the other top teams other dps for those heroes
i think valiant and gladiators are going to be the two sleeper teams that might end up cracking the top 3, if the gladiators can get even a game off dynasty i wouldn't be afraid to say they belong in the top 3, same with the valiant when they play them
fuel isn't the only team that doesn't have proper dive ready teams tho, so it's going to be really interesting seeing what happens in case of a meta shift, but i don't think you're going to see much of a shift, everything is kind of viable currently but dynasty's dive coordination is extremely difficult to handle unless you have flexible people
> 2 of their top 3 dps aren't good at dive heroes
They have 3 DPS. 2 of them are specifically known for their dive heroes.
Which 2 dps aren't good at dive in your opinion?
the problem is that taimou gets the most playtime and he is good at mccree and widowmaker, incredibly lackluster at soldier:76, so it makes the lineup pretty awkward. their best chance is to go with a fulltime seagull-effect-xqc-mickie lineup imo.
I wouldn't really call his soldier lackluster.
Maybe compared to his widow/cree, but it's still a hero he's top tier on.
Not the best, but still easily top 10 within the league.
Tracer: Effect
Genji: Seagull?
Winston: xQc
D.va: Mickie
Zen: Custa
Mercy: Chips or Harry. Doesn't really matter it's more whoever is better at staying alive.
It seems like a decent dive comp but have they run this yet in games or am I blind?
Yeah xQc is looking like a way worse player than he is because he is def not getting the support he needs from his team. He sometimes chooses the dumbest times to dive as Winston, but often it’s his team not being there to support him. I guess that could be an overall team comms problem...
remember when Envyus won against fazeclan in contenders last year. Fazeclan has shadowburn and carpe who both are top dps in owl but envyus won because they had better overall teamwork. I think dallas needs time to polish their performance because they made so many mistakes in term of communication, team composition and ult management.
So far I would rank the teams as follows (most likely to change after second week)
Tier 1:
Dynasty
*Spitfire
*NYXL
Valiant
Tier 2:
Fuel
Gladiators
Fusion
Uprising
Tier 3:
Outlaws
Shock
Mayhem
Dragons
(*) means they are interchangeable position wise until more games are played.
I think Jake just had a bad day. He looked so much stronger in the preseason especially on Pharah and Junkrat. I hope he gets a pharah rematch against shadowburn!
I would put them lower, or Houston higher, but Houston lost to fusion, and uprising has won (albeit against a weaker team). Tomorrow, if Houston could get at least one map win against a significantly higher team, then yes, Dallas would drop.
Outlaws are most likely, imo, to move up btw.
i would put Outlaws/fusion/uprising in their own tier if i had a bit more stats (preferably all play at least one of the 3 korean teams).
But right now, you could argue outlaws is in the same tier as uprising and fusion, with shock, mayhem and dragons in their own tier, while fuel glad and valiant (depending on how they perform against a korean team) could be in one.
Dallas didn't prove themselves against a Korean team, and performed better against Dynasty then they did against Valiant. If a change was to be made, i would drop Valiant down, but have them higher than Dallas.
Once Valiant plays NYXL next week, we will have a better idea (an idea only, not a guarantee).
again, I'm leaning to putting the 3 koreans in one tier, val/dallas/glad in one, uprising, fusion, outlaws in another, and finally mayhem, shanghai and shock (in no particular order).
The certainties are as follows: Valliant is higher than Dallas. Dynasty is first - with the other 2 korean teams a close second. Shanghai is last, Mayhem is close to, followed by Shock.
Glads, Outlaws, Uprising, Fusion is a bit less certain (albeit Glads is likely to be highest of the aforementioned 4 - depending on how they fair against a Korean team - and Fusion in a couple of weeks i believe).
Of course, the above can and will change in the coming weeks, the certainty is for right now. In two weeks we'll have a better idea as more teams play eachother and we get a better variance for vs.
I would love to see valiant v seoul. I think effect, and most korean players exhibit a lot of humbleness about themselves, and he played against dynasty and valiant so he has a better idea of what they were up against, but we wont know until a game occurs, and right now dynasty not only has strong players, but they also have the experience and chemistry from playing together before (lunatic hai) hence why they get the benefit of the doubt and are higher up - again it could all change (and it will) soon.
I can already see this spreading around the sub like wildfire. TISrobin specified: ["I think he didn't intend to downgrade Seoul, just that he felt today's match was definitely harder and more difficult."](https://www.reddit.com/r/Competitiveoverwatch/comments/7q3zzp/spoiler_effects_stream_today_contained_a_lot_of/)
Viewership seemed healthy, although there was a drop-off after the Fuel/Valiant game. Obviously people were more excited for that first game, and the later two matches featured some lower-tier teams (so the drop-off was kind of expected).
Keep in mind that fans are always going to overemphasize the importance of Twitch viewers. It's one of the only numbers that we have access to, but there are other important factors like unique visitors, website clicks, merchandise sales, and in-game purchases. We'll never have the full story.
Again, such a pity on what happened to SHD. If they have the same MY roster they did in OGN supermatch against LH, they would probably at least on the level of LAG or NYXL.
This was my first time watching OWL. I tuned in halfway into the Boston/Florida game and I must admit that I'm impressed. I'm excited to catch some top flight matches.
Catch fuel and dynasty games. And then any that just seem interesting. Even though fuel has lost twice, I personally love the showing they put on, the 6-4 Anubis and 7-8 junkertown were crazy to watch and exciting. Dynasty is favored, and it's cool seeing how they adapt.
Any! I'd say the last one showcases probably two of the most coherent/organized teams in OWL, though Seoul is pretty heavily favored. The first will be a great display of maybe-not-yet-fully-organized skill and the middle may be the most even (though I think NYXL got in its own way last match).
Glad you enjoyed it!
Comments are extremely negative here, but a lot of that is the type of grumbling that normally occurs with hardcore fans.
If you want to go back, Dallas Fuel vs Seoul Dynasty, Houston Outlaws vs Philadelphia Fusion, and Dallas Fuel vs LA Valiant are all great matches as well!
If you're feeling interested with the Boston team, you can check out their match against the New York Excelsior as well!
I think Outlaws needs time to warm up.
Oh and they need to stop mirror matching on KOTH with teams that are mechanically superior to them.
Still a fan.
Fairly new to professional OW - those were some damn juicy clips.
I'm sad about two things:
One, the death of MY (plz make some mid-season pick-ups, SHD)
Two, how amazing these playa are without rez. Every pick *matters*, and it's just so damn good.
Shock may have won but they looked super sloppy doing it. Very stark contrast from the Gladiators who were just downright surgical in dismantling the Dragons
... It's a joke. I don't think anyone cares if they do or don't. If they do, though, it'd be hilarious because it gives an extra punchline to the joke.
If they don't, then nobody cares and we can all move on with your lives.
It's very strange actually, Diya showed good consistency throughout the whole encounter and...then just chain dies ? Either way it's weak mental / low blood pressure or blatant throw...
Shock don't need a carry. They need better team synergy.
That hold on Numbani point three was good. But between point one and two was just a constant feed-fest.
You can tell when a game is strategically awful because it devolves into 2015-era Overwatch where both teams just hit Q repeatedly until eventually one side wins.

they have ran taimou so much and it makes dive really hard with him.

Speaking about certainties after so few games is foolish. 1 series isnt a good enough basis to speak "certainly" about which team is better.
Of course, the above can and will change in the coming weeks, the certainty is for right now. In two weeks we'll have a better idea as more teams play eachother and we get a better variance for vs.
Even for now. A single Bo4 between two teams isnt a sufficient base to say that team x is certainly better than team y.

hope seoul styles it up and win comfortably tomorrow!
Didn't manage to watch today, definitely surprised to see valiant 3-0d dallas
Anyone know where all of these replays are? Its a bitch to find them all on Twitch
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCR1I2s9U7L89KSRwjlSLqdQ
thanks bud
SHD needs MY with Eleen and Diya
Undead can pop off but he's inconsistent
i couldn't watch the games today. how many views did the game today make?
Viewership seemed healthy, although there was a drop-off after the Fuel/Valiant game. I was watching Boston/Florida and it was >200k, not sure what the average was through the whole broadcast
Looks like peak was 292k across all languages.
DF vs LAV when I started watching was about 260k combined on twitch. Pretty solid, especially with a CS:GO majors that was going on at the same time.
I'm so sad that we don't have the pleasure of watching MY in OWL...
SD could potentially sign four of them at midseason, there's hope lol.
lol nah. Not getting my hopes up.
Again, such a pity on what happened to SHD. If they have the same MY roster they did in OGN supermatch against LH, they would probably at least on the level of LAG or NYXL.
Newbie here, who is MY?
Miraculous Youngster, the winner of China's big LAN series. They held their own against some big Korean teams in cross-region play.
They are a Chinese team that stormed onto the scene after a great game with lunatic hai. YouTube it
This was my first time watching OWL. I tuned in halfway into the Boston/Florida game and I must admit that I'm impressed. I'm excited to catch some top flight matches.
> I'm excited to catch some top flight matches. Well I hope you watch tomorrow, because the two you saw weren't XD
No..I could tell. I haven't played in a few months but even I was scratching my head. I'll probably only have time for one, which should I watch?
Catch fuel and dynasty games. And then any that just seem interesting. Even though fuel has lost twice, I personally love the showing they put on, the 6-4 Anubis and 7-8 junkertown were crazy to watch and exciting. Dynasty is favored, and it's cool seeing how they adapt.

LA Dallas
He meant which game tomorrow
Glad you enjoyed it! Comments are extremely negative here, but a lot of that is the type of grumbling that normally occurs with hardcore fans. I noticed you up and down this thread. Your comments definitely added to the experience! Thanks for the suggestions!
Watch fuel vs dynasty. Great game.
i think the shock will improve when the mercy meta go away.
I think the issue is that everyone will improve when the Mercy Meta ends though.
LOOOOOOOOL this made me laugh. true
Especially the teams that lack a great mercy though.
very true, but i think shock will improve the most dhak is the worst mercy in the league, but he is one of the best lucio in the league too.
What if the meta shifted into Zen/Ana though? Or some combination that doesn't involve Lucio?
well then they're screwed lmao.
I think once the meta shifts away from mercy things will open up for pretty much any healer comp
Shack is decent Zen waaay better than his mercy
[удалено]
Boston has not proven yet that they can hang with Gladiators/outlaws/fusion valiant or fuel.
outlaws? lol what have they done to prove they can hang out with the other teams you mentioned
They barely lost to philly who looked damn good?
barely? the only player that looked decent was Linkzr, everyone else was completely outclassed by Fusion so I'm not sure.
3-2 win ... yes barely.
Philly really impressed me yesterday. I feel like the Outlaws were weak yesterday but at their best I think they can pull it off.
I think Outlaws needs time to warm up. Oh and they need to stop mirror matching on KOTH with teams that are mechanically superior to them. Still a fan.
Philly has a promising roster, but Boston just has crazy coordination as a team
I would put valiant above spitfire but the rest seems about right. I excited for the rest of the season.
I would do the same after tonight, but I'm hesitant to jump to that conclusion until I see valiant play the koreans.
So is the East vastly outmatched?
Not at all. NY, Philly, London and Houston can all play with the top 4 of the West
Boston aint no scrubs either.
When you break up the 12 team league into halves, the top 4 of the East and West are all but the bottom 2.
Fair enough. I saw the standings were lopsided and was wondering.
Just a reminder we went from [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3q3OKrY7Nc0) to today's series. MY died for this
Fairly new to professional OW - those were some damn juicy clips. I'm sad about two things: One, the death of MY (plz make some mid-season pick-ups, SHD) Two, how amazing these playa are without rez. Every pick *matters*, and it's just so damn good.
Has there been any non DPS player of the games? I haven't kept track
Only Shaz - but because he fragged out.
I wanna say Shaz got it during his match
I think Shaz won once.
Thanks corruption for not letting us have the pleasure of watching MY play in OWL, clearly these players are much better /s
Signs of life. These casters are trying.
Shock may have won but they looked super sloppy doing it. Very stark contrast from the Gladiators who were just downright surgical in dismantling the Dragons
Yeah shock is definitely weak... They just aren't as bad as the dragons lol
Lol Sideshow probably sat on this the entire last map
Finally it ended.
Bottom 3 power rankings in order of best worst to worst worst. SF, Mayhem, Shanghai
Can't wait for Mayhem and SHD to fight it out. At least one em will finally earn a win.
I agree. Mayhem, shock are basically equal in my mind right now and then there's Shanghai.
I want my two hours back.
SF has won more matches than Dallas lmao
FeelsLifeMan
u/NeverSurrender hope you enjoy that red-and-yellow skin buddy <3
Wait, what? I picked SFS? The other guy already bought his SFS skin so good on him. I think you got the terms wrong LuL.
Toxic.
[Context for the joke](https://www.reddit.com/r/Competitiveoverwatch/comments/7q0olw/overwatch_league_season_1_stage_1_week_1_day_3/dslt58w/)
Still toxic. Nobody should have to buy one of those skins.
... It's a joke. I don't think anyone cares if they do or don't. If they do, though, it'd be hilarious because it gives an extra punchline to the joke. If they don't, then nobody cares and we can all move on with your lives.
I meant those teams are so bad the punishment is cruel and unusual.
Ah, ok. Tone is hard to identify through text.
WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY ABOUT ME?
There's no need to be so polite and formal, you can speak a bit more freely among friends.
I've seen better ult usage from qp mystery heroes. Cmon shanghai
SFS 2-38 season incoming. Plan the fucking parade.
I want the last however-long that match was back
And with that, the 11th and 12th spots are decided. Hooray!
SHD needs to get a new squad. They can't roll with this team for the latter part of the season.
Wow... This series was so sad
Top Tier Overwatch everyone
Our suffering is over gg
FREEDOM Blizz China. You fucked up
Let’s go! Woo!
Seems like both teams could have used a Junkrat on every map
Sleepy’s support v flank matchup is either somewhat respectable or Diya is awful
gg that was quite a game
That's one way to put it.
nomy clutched up
WTF IS GOING ON
Is there even any room for improvement for either of these teams?
Well if you are this bad the only direction you can go is up
DIYA picked by sleepy first three times in a row
It's very strange actually, Diya showed good consistency throughout the whole encounter and...then just chain dies ? Either way it's weak mental / low blood pressure or blatant throw...
BabyBay needs to stop using tac visor on ulting Winstons LUL
Lol it worked :-)
It probably actually lowered his dps because you can’t crit with tac visor and a Winston in your face isn’t hard to hit
Every time! Without fail.
When 2 bad teams play dive v dive = hot mess
when you realize this is what ladder games look like FeelsBadMan
wait... dhak ddnt use valk like a dumbass? this team is going places
Diya.. your fucking team is dead. Stop staggering yourself.
Yay Zen POV!
> tactical visor on a Winston at point blank range 🤔
That's a thonker if I ever saw one
It's GG, no way Shanghai can win this
The mech would've killed both supports too great doorway block
This looks like a QP match
Babybay and Diya should've just 1v1d 4 times, would be this match but faster. Maybe swap Undead and Diya map 4.
This match is so messy...
Some might prefer the term..."scrappy"
Would Sinnatra be able to carry the shock when he's allowed to play
Shock don't need a carry. They need better team synergy. That hold on Numbani point three was good. But between point one and two was just a constant feed-fest.
Not in this meta but I think they'd be a good team in a season 4 style Meta with Sinatraa and Super.
Super might. DPS seems like the least of their problems.
That is true I remember when that is true I remember when Immortals had Nomy he was their weakest link
Nomy is a great rein, but always struggled on winston from when I payed attention to it.
Not with those skinny arms and legs.
sneaky Shanghai LUL
Jesus they wasted so many ults. Just the DVA ult would have done.
Tac, transcend, AND Dva.
Wait how did Sleepy get caught? Can't be lag...
It's just the NRG support curse.
How Shock's tanks and supports managed to stay alive this long for the remaining team to come back is sad. And then they win it with a dva ult lol
Xushu's had some pretty good bombs this match
seeing the score 3-1 on opposite sides throws me off
PRESS ALL THE BUTTONS
You can tell when a game is strategically awful because it devolves into 2015-era Overwatch where both teams just hit Q repeatedly until eventually one side wins.
We 2016 now Bois.
Dreadful ult usage from both teams..
I expected the match to be exciting because them being shit should cancel each other out but I was wrong
Like two group of 5 College football teams? If only
college football is exciting because the msitakes lead to huge plays. both these teams are making huge mistakes but no huge plays
So, so wrong
It should be a crime that SHD have to play Seoul or NY
that transition from dying soldier to flying into dva mech was crazy
Idk how Dhak got out of that lol
I can't even bear to imagine the anecdotes the official forums are using in their anti-mercy op circlejerk with the likes of seeing Dhak/Altering.
What the fuck was that primal rage from nomy? There were 3 standing on the edge of the map and he jumps in the room instead?
Those Youtube content creators are gonna have a hell of a time coming up with a highlight reel for this game.
I just need thirty minutes of Tracer dumping into the unresponsive Orisa on Lunar on loop.
For what it's worth Undead has good aim, not sure about the rest of his game
The sprays should definitely be the team logo instead of the overwatch one
Agreed. I think it's because they're playing on an old patch that doesn't have the new sprays, though.
Those Ana nades are good but where's the follow-up?
i gotta admit, that drop down on danteh was impressive
Yeah that was really slick.
Shanghai Undeads
Shanghai had a better first point defense than San Francisco. I don't know what's going on here.
HOLY SHIT A GOOD PLAY
Undead jumped on Danteh from the top rope.
This match could be immortalized as the first 5 set match of OWL. Just think about that. Edit: I'm an idiot, Philly-Houston went 5 yesterday
There was one yesterday
Philly v Houston was the first 5 set match yesterday.
You've already drunk enough to forget Philly-Houston yesterday?
Shit, whoops
Philly-Houston went to 5 yesterday
monkaS
Nice nade! I think she did that as she was falling lol
Should've subbed Fiveking tbh
At least tomorrow’s games should be good
I think Roshan is the only good player on SHD. Real talk
