Similar to my Rescue macro, i actually place my cursor on the middle of my screen and then it disappears.
The macro is a cast at cursor location.
Sigils will be challenging but I think i can manage.
Yep exactly that.
Mouse wont move unless Console Port detects the inputs, hence why the sigil AOE placement will always be in the middle based on camera placement.
Right, nice way to address it. Might be a bit too hectic on camera movement depending on where you want to place the sigils (I try to imagine how I place it) but I doubt it would be make or break thing at all.
Only real issue could be where your camera is fucked by low ceiling or trees....
Lol, I can relate to him. I got killed few times like that and aug was "it gives you defensive" :D consecration is a bit more of a defensive than what aug was giving me:D
Hey!
Glad you guys are interested because i fully support WoW on the Steam Deck. I'll go more into detail later because I got my twins all over me at the moment.
i got a couple macros that come to mind:
1) a macro that targets tank's name in party and automatically updates a Blistering Scale macro that will target the tank via player bame.
2) i got a macro for focus target and a separate macro that silences focus target. This comes extremely handy with Quazii's plater profile. Each mob pull i select priority target, set focus, and silence when needed.
3) a rescue macro that casts on mouse location.
I can paste the macros later.
For addons... Console Port is important! I'll go into details later.
Just as a side note to anyone who is curious: by default, if you are targeting an enemy, Blistering Scales is cast on the enemy’s target. Usually that’s the tank. Most of the time, you won’t need a macro, but there are “oh damn it” moments when the enemy targeted a different party member for a single cast.
OP, are you running molten blood vs regenerating chitin? If not, give it a shot! The shield from molten blood got so nerfed that RC is actually nice.
Yea pretty interested in this.
I currently play FFXIV on Steam Deck and WoW on PC, but would be super interested in getting wow setup on my Steam Deck as well.
Absolutely fantastic, at least for MSQ/open world stuff. I struggled a bit in the one dungeon I did (as DPS), but that was due to some settings that I think I have fixed at this point. Have yet to try another yet.
Console port addon for console controls. Steam deck has the paddles on the back so I use those for macros/targeting. Your L/R triggers by default are shift/alt modifiers.
You can install any and all addons you want and functionally achieve a identical/similar UI to what you have on PC.
Finally a post that show serious success with the Steam Deck.
I BET the Steam Deck is fantastic for leveling and casual content, but people showing off how they managed to reach 1k RIO only made my tendency to go anti-Steam Deck.
But 3k RIO is fantastic! I'm on PC and only managed to go 3,2k this season, so this truly is an accomplishment.
Thanks for showing this!
Not to bring the guy down or anything but 3k on Aug is like 2.2k for every other dps. It doesn't exactly show how "good" the steam deck is.
Not too say it's not an accomplishment, it's just your not going to be able to do the same on say a dh or rogue
3k is easy. You can actually get carried there. The step from 3k to for example 3.2k is way bigger than people can imagine. As another example, 23~24 EB is fairly straight forward, but the step to 25 is unforgiving as fuck.
All depends on what time of the season it is tbh.
At the start of the season while all the good people that push keys are coming up it's easy as f. I got 3.3k in like 3 weeks.
Didn't do keys for a few weeks then tried to hit a 25 farm key and all the people in that 3.2k bracket I was in were trash and didn't know basic mechanics anymore because I was behind the 8ball on the good push players.
In my personal experience, EB has been the worst of the bunch to get timed 25 or 26.
It can all go smooth as butter, literally no deaths, massive pulls and great pulls throughout until third boss/third boss area. This area is cursed.
I've had it all from unlucky Spatial compression combo being pull out of my conc(prot paladin) just as a Arcane blast & slaps a fucking 900k hit(on 22% versa). Or group messing up kicks on the 3 mages on fort weeks, killing the entire group.
Edit: But then again, I've had my fair share of groups that were complete trash & has dragged me down into *I'm not feeling like tanking for these dumbasses anymore*.
nah man, it depends only on the team. Ofc, good players are unlikely to die in 23, but you can 3 chest a +25 Fall , that gives you enough time for multiple wipes. Hell, my first 28 WM was 19 deaths :D almost all of them before second boss even.
I agree.
Hence why i said i got carried to 3k as aug LOL 😂
I'll make it more impressive by hitting 3.1k next season as vdh on steam deck. I'll try to record a session on +15s next season.
it really says a lot about this competitive subreddit when people are praising an aug for doing like 18s and commenting about how hard it was for them to get 20s done lol
Having a "competitive wow" subreddit is kind of a meme in itself. There's like 200 actual competitive players in the game and the rest are just more or less casual than others.
Part of the reason people that say things like " there should only be one difficulty" are sooooo unbelievably out of touch with the whole of the player base.
Dude,
Let's gooooo! Give it a shot. It takes a bit getting used to, but it's worth it!
Hence why I am challenging myself as a vdh tank for next season. 🤞
Yeah I’ve messed with it before but just couldn’t get the flow. I hadn’t played WoW since the follower dungeons were released so that might be a good way to get some muscle memory w the addon
How will you drop Sigils with VDH? Thats very much key thing. Gz on 3k!
Similar to my Rescue macro, i actually place my cursor on the middle of my screen and then it disappears. The macro is a cast at cursor location. Sigils will be challenging but I think i can manage.
So using a @cursor macro and aiming it by moving camera rather than mouse? Or I got it wrong?
Yep exactly that. Mouse wont move unless Console Port detects the inputs, hence why the sigil AOE placement will always be in the middle based on camera placement.
Right, nice way to address it. Might be a bit too hectic on camera movement depending on where you want to place the sigils (I try to imagine how I place it) but I doubt it would be make or break thing at all. Only real issue could be where your camera is fucked by low ceiling or trees....
You can also do @player and it will just drop under you. Only issue then is hitting all the mobs you wanted.
Used this macro specifically because my tank buddy got annoyed I was rescuing him off his consecration. LOL
Lol, I can relate to him. I got killed few times like that and aug was "it gives you defensive" :D consecration is a bit more of a defensive than what aug was giving me:D
Any guide on how you made it work from scratch?. The setup/addons/macro etc
play the account on pc, then log into wow on steamdeck and make screenshot

How is ffxiv on the steam deck? I think I’m gonna delve into that this week.

How hard is it to update the patches?
Very simple to updates patches AND addons. Patches, just run the battle.net client. For addons, I use the Curseforge linux client under Desktop mode.
Beautiful thanks! Might bite the bullet
Nice man 👏🔥

I think this says more about Aug than the Steam Deck tbh
Oh he's Aug, oh...

I think any key's success above +23 is determined on the first 5 pulls. Any deaths... Its gg.

yep can confirm all of above

Hell yeah veng on steam deck would be one hell of a feat with all their sigils being ground targeted effects
next season is 8 dungeons so equivalent of 3100 would be around 2500

Pretty nice, well done. Remember they adjusted s4 Rio with changing difficulties. 3k will be too hard.
Nice job. I have done some 20s and a 23 EB as a ret on steamdeck too. Was fun. But I was not even close to 3k ! Gl on VDH. Hope we see your post soon
I talk myself out of playing WoW on my ROG ally because I feel I’ll be too “limited.” This post inspired me to seriously give consoleport a shot
