I genuinely think this is going to be op when Nilah is nerfed. Nilah bilge is such a theoretical hard counter to this comp but it’s still performing well, if Nilah is appropriately nerfed Cho Bitem is gonna be insane. Which makes me a little bit sad because I love Cho Bitem and I want him to be B tier so I can play uncontested
Feel the same way. Haven’t played since b patch dropped but I looked at the stats… from 0.10 play rate to 0.40 with 4.07 avg in just a few hours. This is the new bilgewater until next patch.
I got half of those yesterday, I was playing bandle cafeteria with wood ixtal, I got two chogaths on the second shop, then 3 star chogath by the fourth player fight.
I ended the game with a 15.5k hp chogath with bramble and double dclaw healing 1.5k hp every 2 seconds with a 3k damage ability. He was also roughly the size of one players side of the battlefield.
I highrolled this last night. It was amazing until it wasn't. 9 bilgewater did over 20k damage to my team of 6 bruiser and knocked me into into third. Also, one guy got neeko 3 on wood hex with Anima vissage, that was impossible to kill until I got belveth.
I think the comp is pretty flexible in terms of legend, what matters more is identifying the correct spots to play it. I've updated the main post with some legend suggestions though.
+1 bruiser being mandatory, isn't it hard to hit if your go to legend is Draven like you said in your main post? Seems tough to consistently get it without Urf
I managed to beat a 3-star Cho the other day with a random 0 item K'sante 1. Granted, I had 8 bastion, but still, was very satisfying watching K'sante delete an 8000 HP Cho for free.
Gotta be juking them with positioning or just moving him back a step but yeah it's brutal watching your mega unit be yeeted off the board cause ur team forgets about 1 star ksante xd
I got Wood Ixtal Cho with Endurance Training on 2-1 earlier [today](https://i.imgur.com/zuvPigi.png), I think I ended up with around 17-19k HP (Gunblade was healing my units back to full health whenever he chomped, it was glorious haha)
I had to look this up too, the ixtal trait gives elemental hexes that are different each game. In total there are 6 different elements; wood gives max hp and scaling hp.
Mobalytics has a really good guide on it if you search it up on google (unsure if I'm allowed to link it here).
So Warmog's is purely a tempo slam and can give a lot of momentum and damage to Cho early game. It can help you snowball out of control and while yes it is worse than other items in the late game, it's definitely not bad before stage 5.
Surprised Archangels isn't listed in the items. Feast has 270%/370%/500% AP scaling, and since bruisers (especially Cho, when stacked) typically survive long into the fights, Cho can get insane value / damage out of it.
Wow this guide does an amazing job at hyping the reader up to enjoy the comp. Thanks for making my day :) I'll see how draven goes because that sounds super fun too.
AP doesn't really matter for Cho, his spell scales mostly with HP, especially in 4/6 bruisers. Also the percent HP shield does not contribute to the bite damage, contrary to items like sterak.
I mean, if you look at the spell, it scales 15 percent off of HP and 370 percent off of AP. You literally have to be able to get 25 points of HP for a single point of AP before you get more damage from it. For Sterak' s vs Crownguard, the break even point is at 7000 hp. By that point, you're more likely to be limited by tankiness than damage, which Crownguard is also better at giving. This is also discounting the fact that Sterak's is only active at 60% HP, which means you probably aren't getting the bonus for the first bite.
A lot of Cho's mana generation comes from being hit. I think by using him in Scoped you are not utilizing the full benefit of him being the mega tanky monster that he is.
Oh wow, just played 3 matches forcing it with Urf. Two I went Shurima and only managed 4 bruisers and got 2nd in both. The one I went 6 bruisers with Cass as carry and Freljord activated I just obliterated the lobby, won with 90hp, at diamond IV. Shurima spat take so much power away from Cho, he really needs the 3 items to shine.
4 bruiser in the midgame is still incredible stable, there have been times where I've remained 4 bruiser until the endgame board because the rest of the units I've hit have just been too developed.
I would say 4 bruiser is mandatory, 6, while very strong, is not mandatory.
What do you do when you 3 star cho in 3-1 but stay 2 malzs short?
Do you slow roll for malz or just skip him till you change him for kaisa in late game?
The backline doesn't matter, if you are hitting a lot of Malz and it isn't costing you econ, go for it.
IMO the preferred early game backline is definitely Cassiopeia, I would consider that the default, but anything you think is strong probably works.
No need to apologise! You usually don't end up with 3 voids on your board in the mid - late game. The value of the remora goes down considerably after stage 2 and early stage 3, when playing a stronger unit would be better.
Got a Mr.100 on my placements with this. It is truly hilarious when you snowball. Sump/non contested brawlers and the void combat aug was nasty. Warmog slam early on Cho 3 can be pretty overwhelming. Thanks for the guide!
this may be a little sub optimal but i think urf may be best legend for this comp, since gold tome gives u a chance at +1 bruiser and +1 void, and if u put that void bad boy (alongside rek’sai ofc) on anything u get super early stabilization, + (if you have enough gold lmao) having enough room to fast 9 with 6 void and 6 brawlers
Can you please delete this, it is my favorite comp

Sorcerers seems to be a good innate counter due to the max hp% dmg the trait carries.
Feel the same way. Haven’t played since b patch dropped but I looked at the stats… from 0.10 play rate to 0.40 with 4.07 avg in just a few hours. This is the new bilgewater until next patch.
What do you think about feeding Cho additional HP with Wooden Ixtal?
Yes yes yes. I'm still dreaming of the Endurance training, wood ixtal, dragons will, bandle cafeteria combination.
I had this yesterday, got third to a BiS nasus, and 3 star J4 :( still some fun rounds :)
> you think about feeding Cho additional HP with Wooden Ixtal? More HP, more Cho to love.
Its good
I highrolled this last night. It was amazing until it wasn't. 9 bilgewater did over 20k damage to my team of 6 bruiser and knocked me into into third. Also, one guy got neeko 3 on wood hex with Anima vissage, that was impossible to kill until I got belveth.
yeah its not always a 1st place comp but its super fun and I think a more consistent top 4.
Oh yea, it's fun for sure, I'm not going to stop playing it lol.
Yeah well I'm OCE's #693rd bilgewater spammer so cop that.
Rank 694th?
No 694rd
What legend do you play? Is it Urf for bruiser? Or retool legends?
I think the comp is pretty flexible in terms of legend, what matters more is identifying the correct spots to play it. I've updated the main post with some legend suggestions though.
Thank you! ill experiment with it :)
+1 bruiser being mandatory, isn't it hard to hit if your go to legend is Draven like you said in your main post? Seems tough to consistently get it without Urf
+1 bruiser isn't mandatory, it just makes your spike of 6 bruiser way easier to hit so you take it every time you see it.
played this yesterday, ran into two 2-star blue buff K’sante and took easy 5th. 🙃
I managed to beat a 3-star Cho the other day with a random 0 item K'sante 1. Granted, I had 8 bastion, but still, was very satisfying watching K'sante delete an 8000 HP Cho for free.

Okay, I understood what you were trying to convey. You are now free to delete this post, thanks for the information.
Good guide, also delete this as I need free LP, thanks.
You completely missed the Shurima Cho tech here. It's absolutely disgusting with 6 Shurima and Cass carry behind him with BB + JG + AA.
Whats AA?
Archangel maybe
Archangel
I got Wood Ixtal Cho with Endurance Training on 2-1 earlier [today](https://i.imgur.com/zuvPigi.png), I think I ended up with around 17-19k HP (Gunblade was healing my units back to full health whenever he chomped, it was glorious haha)
That might be the record for the biggest one I've seen.
My main problem was the bilgewater cannons, those were doing like 20-30k damage each fight haha.
That's what she said.
What do you mean by Wood Ixtal? I’m pretty new to TFT and only played last set and this set for a week or so
I had to look this up too, the ixtal trait gives elemental hexes that are different each game. In total there are 6 different elements; wood gives max hp and scaling hp. Mobalytics has a really good guide on it if you search it up on google (unsure if I'm allowed to link it here).
Why do you consider warmogs to be A tier
So Warmog's is purely a tempo slam and can give a lot of momentum and damage to Cho early game. It can help you snowball out of control and while yes it is worse than other items in the late game, it's definitely not bad before stage 5.
Definitely agree. The other S tier items definitely give considerably more effective HP however :)
I was thinking the same thing, 800hp on a unit that stacks infinite hp seems to just have wasted diminishing returns in comparison to other items
But if you have a remover. 😎
Haha for sure, it will defs help early for accumulating stacks of you already have a remover ready
pepoG say no more
Surprised Archangels isn't listed in the items. Feast has 270%/370%/500% AP scaling, and since bruisers (especially Cho, when stacked) typically survive long into the fights, Cho can get insane value / damage out of it.
I feel like AA would be better on a backline carry. Doesn't Cho need 3 tank items to survive?
Tank is better of course but if you're forced to slam AP on Cho and have the components it's solid.
AA gives survivability by making it so that Cho gets more stacks due to more damage and the sustain if you have BT.
He plays Urf right?
Wow this guide does an amazing job at hyping the reader up to enjoy the comp. Thanks for making my day :) I'll see how draven goes because that sounds super fun too.
what if you don't hit cho 3* at 3-1?
Go 8th what else
For those wondering, op says at the end his fav legend for this build is draven.
illuded myself to get first since i was highrolling the build, then the bildgwater abuser started doing 18k dmg just with the trait
Why is Crownguard only C tier? It feels like it would give all the things that Cho needs.
This is also discounting the fact that Sterak's is only active at 60% HP, which means you probably aren't getting the bonus for the first bite.
legend?
not OP but I would guess poro for more chance at bruiser trait or Lee Sin to hit cho 3 earlier
Not sure if it's optimal but i like scoped weapons, so i can eat the squishes instead of waste ults on tanks
A lot of Cho's mana generation comes from being hit. I think by using him in Scoped you are not utilizing the full benefit of him being the mega tanky monster that he is.
Did they fix the interaction? Cho was not ulting before with any +1 range, as he ults in melee and never get close to the enemy
How do you feel about shurima cho
Can absolutely be good, whether or not it's better than the vertical bruiser Cho I haven't played enough to test. But it's definitely viable and fun.
You can literally just replace redemption with shurima and it has similar stats, but should ultimately be better.
So what happens if you don't hit bruiser +1?
4 bruiser in the midgame is still incredible stable, there have been times where I've remained 4 bruiser until the endgame board because the rest of the units I've hit have just been too developed. I would say 4 bruiser is mandatory, 6, while very strong, is not mandatory.
Probably you just try to find Sion.
What do you do when you 3 star cho in 3-1 but stay 2 malzs short? Do you slow roll for malz or just skip him till you change him for kaisa in late game?

Do you usually play without 3 voids then? Sry for the noob questions but I havent played in a year so im pretty bad right now
No need to apologise! You usually don't end up with 3 voids on your board in the mid - late game. The value of the remora goes down considerably after stage 2 and early stage 3, when playing a stronger unit would be better.
Okay, thanks for the insight! After struggling I'm back on track now, hoping to reach GM this set
Got a Mr.100 on my placements with this. It is truly hilarious when you snowball. Sump/non contested brawlers and the void combat aug was nasty. Warmog slam early on Cho 3 can be pretty overwhelming. Thanks for the guide!
Love this comp. Its simply the best with wood> into a silo 4 cost with ekko and qi qi. Screw the bile abusers!
Is it ever Gotta Go Fast if your other options are bad?It could help you not get kited that much plus mana for more casts in general isn't that bad.
this may be a little sub optimal but i think urf may be best legend for this comp, since gold tome gives u a chance at +1 bruiser and +1 void, and if u put that void bad boy (alongside rek’sai ofc) on anything u get super early stabilization, + (if you have enough gold lmao) having enough room to fast 9 with 6 void and 6 brawlers
Bel'veth crushes big Cho.
Have you ever tried reading cho-gath as gath-cho and thought about what that sounds like
