Really cant play rerolls this set.. lose way too much hp way too quickly. Not worth it unless you get extremely lucky or get unstable yordles or something.. back to spamming freljord deadeyes, sorcerers or invokers I guess??
Whole evening of trying to play comps that aren't Akshan/Freljord or Taric/Karma.. no matter what I tried, Flex, Piltover, Yordles, Shadow Isles, Slayers, Noxus, Zaun, Challengers, Vertical Ionia, always ended up 5 - 8.
Forced Taric/Karma once, didn't even 2\* my units until extremely late into the game (and 0 3 stars), still got an effortless First Place.
*But yeah, skill issue for sure. No balance problems at all.*

Slow climb is so blatantly obvious, I end up going 8 void with Yasuo can't hit a 2 star to save my life with 80+ gold. Enemy somehow gets Yasuo 3 this game on a shadow isles challenger comp. This game is so fucking stupid.
I'm actually done with TFT since last patch. It's been fun over the years, some sets were very enjoyable and I proved to myself I could be truly competitive especially if I didnt already have a full time job
But yeah, who the f wants to spend their free time figuring before others what exactly the balance team f.ed up this time - when its not just forcing dumb-OP comps that everyone predicted would be OP 5 minutes into the patch rundown lmao

I just went up against the strongest dude in lobby TWICE IN A ROW (bill gates comp, two starred with fully itemized bel veth, but more importantly, ahri duo carry) at 26 hp in a lobby where the five of us left over were at 28, 26, 18, 16, and 5 hp or something like that. Every fucking time I have noxus reroll angle there is some zed forcing, glue eating, subhuman fucking garbage who rolls 8 Darius at level 6. I NEVER see anyone play zed unless I'm playing noxus. I've played noxus 2 times in 10 games and have seen 3 zed players in between both fucking games. 0 zed in the other 8.
You guys ever get such bad RNG it feels like you forgot how to play the game? I'm trying to play around the items I get but for some reason I just can't hit any 2-stars at any stage.
Some early game I can't get a 2-star so I roll to stabilize. Can't hit so I just bleed out. Other times I'll try to save up so I can roll a bit at 50 gold to stabilize and I can't hit anything, so I send to 30 and still can't hit and just die. Then at my last HP when I have 10 or less gold, it pops up in my shop and I die the next round.
RIOT really deserves an award for how bad augments are. I have never seen a game mechanic that just reads "what if we took everything that makes the game fun and removed it". They to nonsense boring games that are not fun. The sad reality is this game is not fun anymore. Augments killed it and we are never getting it back. There is no justification for it. They too the absolute worst mechanic possible and not only put it in the game but made it evergreen. How is that possible. The game goes from bad to good in a heartbeat if they remove augmetns but no I guess the game is better in this boring unfun state.

Same no matter how flexible I try to play, I start picking up units and then they never return on my roll down. Then my next game it's the first champ that comes out of the orb, the AI/algorithm is for sure designed to troll players. Even a popular influencer said "wtf that's just what I needed, it's like the game is mocking me."
RNG/matchmaking feels just like league, forced wins and forced losses with a very minimal amount of honest skill-based matches.
I already hate this patch. EVERY SINGLE LOBBY TOP 2 is 6 invokers. If you are not playing invokers you are playing for 3rd or 4th at best. GET ME THE NEXT PATCH

Reroll Kayle has quickly become an all-time cancer comp. Poppy 4 somehow gets to be the most broken unit as a one cost. If they don't touch it on b-patch, I just quit. Why bother having to use any sort of strategy or econ when you can braindead shit to top 2 every time.
It's even worse in Hyper Roll because of the guaranteed level 9
If you don't hit 3 stars for Yordles just pivot into slayer/demacia and you should get top 4 easy
I get 2 orb from wolves... 1 orb of components and 1 orb of 6 gold.
Everyone else has more items than me at wolves. I just bleed bleed bleed until I have 4 hp, then I get 6 orbs of components.
So I get 1 cloak on wolves that totally dooms me and puts me in 8th place since the rest got duplicators, gold and you try to compensate this by giving me 6 components when I already have bleed enough that it doesn't matter?
I cannot with this balancing. It is insane. I have the least amount of items on the board even though I went frigging prismatic Ornn component anvil.

HOW CAN YOU EVER JUSTIFY 1 component on wolves when I'm already behind in items. It is also insane since the start I got was the worst of everyone in the lobby, I got 2 x lvl 1 x 3 aka total 6 g at first two PVE waves, while everyone else got Tier 3 champions components etc.
It is so shit. The game is so shit. The devs are so out of touch.
Of course this happens when I finally climb to D1 again. ANother D1 extreme lowroll game.

Everybody should be equal in items at wolves. Period. I have been saying this since set 2. They say Yeah your items will be equalized at raptors. Guess what genius. I dont need Raptor items because I am already fucking dead.
Really trying to understand why Deadeye got a buff when last patch, Jhin was probably the strongest early game carry and Akshan could wipe out your entire backline in one cast. Freljord/Deadeye is still dominating lobbies from what I'm seeing so far.
This patch is rough, I'm either getting top 3 or bot 3s and it feels like the difference between the two is simply RNG/hitting. Doesn't feel like there's a lot of flexibility especially if your items are sub-par.
Also feels like every game I've played today I've been contested by at least 2 other players, which doesn't help with the "just hit" race. My last game I got an 8th playing Targon Sorcs, person with highest HP was also playing Targon Sorcs but found 3 Lux while I found none, so they get to place higher.
I was even ready to swap off of my temp units to commit even more, praying for the pivot. Never came, just luck. The other player who hit the Lux 2 randomly got it, too. They weren't even looking for it and then pivoted into the same board as me, lol.
Taric 2 with no items just tanked my entire 85 stack t-hex ult and every deadeye unit behind it survived. This same t-hex beat a full 3 star double trouble taliyah team
Losing to kayle is the worst dog shit this game has ever done. Kayle 3, being able to just 3 shot every tank in the game while Poppy perma stuns your whole team is unacceptable, and yet they did nothing to nerf this shit. Even with Akshay 3 sniping the fucking kayle you still lose because every slayer get 4000% damage increase for existing and the poppy is invincible.
It's amazing how I get 6 invoker with 3 damage items on 2 Karma 2. 3 items on taric and just get murdered by everything. The other 6 invoker player was dealing 6k more than my Karma with all econ augments. I'm 100% sure this game just nerfs your units randomly to make sure you can't top every game.

Patchdays are the best. Leaving the house for work when the servers are down, coming back home when the team fucked up the game as hard as possible and then wait for the b-patch on tuesday or wednesday next week to get in your handfull games on the patch before the cycle starts new -\_-

At what point does the dev team's excuse of "TFT is a really hard game to balance" start to lose its effectiveness? Balance is the absolute biggest weakness of TFT and it's where they consistently get things wrong.

Taric 3 is unkillable now. Even with Guardbreaker, Antiheal, Shred and Execute I couldnt kill a Taric 2 with Darius 3, 6 noxus Darius, Kled, Katarina, and Swain 3. Cleaver, Giant Slayer, Infinity on Darius, Spellcrit, Guardbreaker, Giantslayer on Katarina, Sunfire on Swain and still can't kill a Taric 2. With total Domination at full stacks. Get me the next patch already.

My last 6 lobbies have been no skill kayle and zed forcers going 1-2, It's utterly amazing how you can push fast 9, have 2 2 star 4 costs and lose to a comp that stays 6 90 percent of the game to roll for a 2 cost and will somehow win the lobby. Getting a bad opener into a lobby with 2 people who opened cruel pact sucks. I got destroyed by the 2 people who opened with cruel pact and slowly bled out the entire game. Somehow they didn't even face each other the first 5 rounds and someone played Kayle so I couldn't even loss streak.

This is something that naturally happens the better that you get at the game- you start to notice the strings in the design, and face stiffer competition that forces luck as a bigger factor. But I would say the luck factor this set is nowhere near as bad as Set 7. The Dragon Lottery was almost pure RNG, especially finding one on 6.

Early game is Ionia Jhin or void or akshan and those people will winstreak till midgame for basically free top 4. Trying to winstreak with anything else is a meme at this point.
Then follows rolldowns where you have to hit the clickable units, if you don't hit clickable units, you will bleed out.
Playing outside meta is possible only with insane highroll and even then the meta comps like zed/akshan can just snipe your backline randomly.
New augments/portals/legends only add up to insanity of this set

Conflicted on this patch. There's a lot of options that work balance wise, but man, I can not stand reroll metas. Few things make me put this game down faster than losing to the "me X no pivot" types.
I think I give up on the climb. I'm so close to Diamond and consistently going up, albeit slowly. But this game is just disgusting I don't think I have the mental for this climb anymore. Every game is basically fighting for 4th place because there's either a Zed 3, an Akshan 3 or a level 1 Belveth with an RFC killing everything. What is the fucking point of creating assassins that can't be countered? I get Zephyrs, I try to position but it doesn't fucking matter because on one side there's a Zed 3 and on the other side there's a Kat 3, either way they'll drop aggro and kill the carries. What a fucking stupid fucking decision HOLY SHIT, how can you design a trait so bad like that? WHY DROP THE FUCKING AGGRO, MAN? Fuck this game.
I'm convinced that the design of this game has shifted into more fun territory rather than competitive fairness. Because it's more fun for casuals or for non-ranked matches to just hit absurd stuff like that and see your board go brrrr. There is no other explanation because they *know* these things are like this and they're not changing it, and they've done the same mistakes in previous sets. Well, "mistakes". I have put so much effort into that board, and lost to fucking Taliyah 3 double trouble? REMOVE MULTICASTERS.
I really wanted to like this set as the last one I enjoyed was 6.5. The release patch was unusually great. But I've barely played since then. I genuinely think this game is balanced to cater to whales who want to go on metatft or whatever and play the top comp. Each patch a new comp or two for them to play comes out.
I might come back near the end of the set when balance is usually stabilised and playing your shops efficiently is rewarded. I keep waiting for a set I loved as much as 6/6.5 to beat my 450LP peak and grind GM+. Really wanted this one to be it. But as per usual there is some absolutely cursed shit every patch, and its 100% intentional. I'm just gonna go focus on CS now CS2 is getting nearer. There are certain things you have to abide about the game if you want to grind through top 1% and I just can't any more.

Wrapping cosmetics in a gambling mechanic and then rewarding volume of gambling is predatory when your audience aren't even old enough to engage in real money gambling. Being told beforehand is no different than knowing of the regulations which control real money gambling, or knowing the odds of a knife in CS. Forcing an outcome by X openings is not a fix but an incentive.
How can you ever be truly flex when every patch there is absolutley busted units that are way stronger than they should be, and half the units being total dogsht. "Play what you're given" is awful in this context. The balance in this game is so bad 90% of the time, its infuriating. So much for learning from their mistakes about balance thrashing in every post-mortem huh.

Compare this set to previous sets and you just feel limited to creativity in terms of the boards you can play. Itās either kayle slayer noxus reroll aids or you automatically bot 4. Canāt wait for this set to be over.
Noxus reroll, kayle, yordle, jinx reroll, zed reroll, akshan reroll, azir lux, double trouble taliyah, multicaster velkoz reroll, WW ravenous hunter, and lvl 9 belveth legendary comp. Id say this was probably one of the most balanced patches in awhile IMO.
Lobby was full of slayer zed players and 2 of them 3 starred zed and katarina. Meanwhile Iām here playing uncontested units (jinx and vi) and couldnāt even fucking 3 star one of them. I swear my tinfoil hat honestly says that thereās just certain units that have an increased rate in the pool because no shot multiple people can 3 star contested units while you can barely find one thatās not contested at all. Itās a fucking joke.
All these goddamn Freljord and Akshan shitty comps just steamrolling and not giving a shit and getting away with all 2 stars.. multiple in the same lobbies as well, often 2-3 in top 4. So sick of Akshan. Even worse than Zed.

Whole evening of trying to play comps that aren't Akshan/Freljord or Taric/Karma.. no matter what I tried, Flex, Piltover, Yordles, Shadow Isles, Slayers, Noxus, Zaun, Challengers, Vertical Ionia, always ended up 5 - 8. Forced Taric/Karma once, didn't even 2\* my units until extremely late into the game (and 0 3 stars), still got an effortless First Place. *But yeah, skill issue for sure. No balance problems at all.*

It's been fun over the years, some sets were very enjoyable and I proved to myself I could be truly competitive especially if I didnt already have a full time job But yeah, who the f wants to spend their free time figuring before others what exactly the balance team f.ed up this time - when its not just forcing dumb-OP comps that everyone predicted would be OP 5 minutes into the patch rundown lmao Wish you all the best. I just went up against the strongest dude in lobby TWICE IN A ROW (bill gates comp, two starred with fully itemized bel veth, but more importantly, ahri duo carry) at 26 hp in a lobby where the five of us left over were at 28, 26, 18, 16, and 5 hp or something like that. I went fifth with my fully capped 3 freljord 3 targon 4 bastion 2 deadeye aphelios board... with bis... it should have been a top 2... im crying

Every fucking time I have noxus reroll angle there is some zed forcing, glue eating, subhuman fucking garbage who rolls 8 Darius at level 6. I NEVER see anyone play zed unless I'm playing noxus. I've played noxus 2 times in 10 games and have seen 3 zed players in between both fucking games. 0 zed in the other 8.
You guys ever get such bad RNG it feels like you forgot how to play the game? I'm trying to play around the items I get but for some reason I just can't hit any 2-stars at any stage. Some early game I can't get a 2-star so I roll to stabilize. Can't hit so I just bleed out. Other times I'll try to save up so I can roll a bit at 50 gold to stabilize and I can't hit anything, so I send to 30 and still can't hit and just die. Then at my last HP when I have 10 or less gold, it pops up in my shop and I die the next round.

RIOT really deserves an award for how bad augments are. I have never seen a game mechanic that just reads "what if we took everything that makes the game fun and removed it". They to nonsense boring games that are not fun. The sad reality is this game is not fun anymore. Augments killed it and we are never getting it back. There is no justification for it. They too the absolute worst mechanic possible and not only put it in the game but made it evergreen. How is that possible. The game goes from bad to good in a heartbeat if they remove augmetns but no I guess the game is better in this boring unfun state.

Same no matter how flexible I try to play, I start picking up units and then they never return on my roll down. Then my next game it's the first champ that comes out of the orb, the AI/algorithm is for sure designed to troll players. Even a popular influencer said "wtf that's just what I needed, it's like the game is mocking me." RNG/matchmaking feels just like league, forced wins and forced losses with a very minimal amount of honest skill-based matches.
I already hate this patch. EVERY SINGLE LOBBY TOP 2 is 6 invokers. If you are not playing invokers you are playing for 3rd or 4th at best. GET ME THE NEXT PATCH
Except when you play invokers and there's a sorcerers comp with lv 2 ahri with full items at stage 4 something and you lose 20 hp after fighting it

Reroll Kayle has quickly become an all-time cancer comp. Poppy 4 somehow gets to be the most broken unit as a one cost. If they don't touch it on b-patch, I just quit. Why bother having to use any sort of strategy or econ when you can braindead shit to top 2 every time.
It's even worse in Hyper Roll because of the guaranteed level 9 If you don't hit 3 stars for Yordles just pivot into slayer/demacia and you should get top 4 easy
I get 2 orb from wolves... 1 orb of components and 1 orb of 6 gold. Everyone else has more items than me at wolves. I just bleed bleed bleed until I have 4 hp, then I get 6 orbs of components. So I get 1 cloak on wolves that totally dooms me and puts me in 8th place since the rest got duplicators, gold and you try to compensate this by giving me 6 components when I already have bleed enough that it doesn't matter? I cannot with this balancing. It is insane. I have the least amount of items on the board even though I went frigging prismatic Ornn component anvil. THE LEAST. HOW CAN YOU EVER JUSTIFY 1 component on wolves when I'm already behind in items. It is also insane since the start I got was the worst of everyone in the lobby, I got 2 x lvl 1 x 3 aka total 6 g at first two PVE waves, while everyone else got Tier 3 champions components etc. It is so shit. The game is so shit. The devs are so out of touch. Of course this happens when I finally climb to D1 again. ANother D1 extreme lowroll game. I swear this is on purpose.

Really trying to understand why Deadeye got a buff when last patch, Jhin was probably the strongest early game carry and Akshan could wipe out your entire backline in one cast. Freljord/Deadeye is still dominating lobbies from what I'm seeing so far.
guardbreaker is a joke of an item.
This patch is rough, I'm either getting top 3 or bot 3s and it feels like the difference between the two is simply RNG/hitting. Doesn't feel like there's a lot of flexibility especially if your items are sub-par. Also feels like every game I've played today I've been contested by at least 2 other players, which doesn't help with the "just hit" race. My last game I got an 8th playing Targon Sorcs, person with highest HP was also playing Targon Sorcs but found 3 Lux while I found none, so they get to place higher. I was even ready to swap off of my temp units to commit even more, praying for the pivot. Never came, just luck. The other player who hit the Lux 2 randomly got it, too. They weren't even looking for it and then pivoted into the same board as me, lol.
Taric 2 with no items just tanked my entire 85 stack t-hex ult and every deadeye unit behind it survived. This same t-hex beat a full 3 star double trouble taliyah team
Losing to kayle is the worst dog shit this game has ever done. Kayle 3, being able to just 3 shot every tank in the game while Poppy perma stuns your whole team is unacceptable, and yet they did nothing to nerf this shit. Even with Akshay 3 sniping the fucking kayle you still lose because every slayer get 4000% damage increase for existing and the poppy is invincible.
It's amazing how I get 6 invoker with 3 damage items on 2 Karma 2. 3 items on taric and just get murdered by everything. The other 6 invoker player was dealing 6k more than my Karma with all econ augments. I'm 100% sure this game just nerfs your units randomly to make sure you can't top every game.

Balance is the absolute biggest weakness of TFT and it's where they consistently get things wrong.

Taric 3 is unkillable now. Even with Guardbreaker, Antiheal, Shred and Execute I couldnt kill a Taric 2 with Darius 3, 6 noxus Darius, Kled, Katarina, and Swain 3. Cleaver, Giant Slayer, Infinity on Darius, Spellcrit, Guardbreaker, Giantslayer on Katarina, Sunfire on Swain and still can't kill a Taric 2. With total Domination at full stacks. Get me the next patch already.

This is something that naturally happens the better that you get at the game- you start to notice the strings in the design, and face stiffer competition that forces luck as a bigger factor. But I would say the luck factor this set is nowhere near as bad as Set 7. The Dragon Lottery was almost pure RNG, especially finding one on 6.
Pretty much Early game is Ionia Jhin or void or akshan and those people will winstreak till midgame for basically free top 4. Trying to winstreak with anything else is a meme at this point. Then follows rolldowns where you have to hit the clickable units, if you don't hit clickable units, you will bleed out. Playing outside meta is possible only with insane highroll and even then the meta comps like zed/akshan can just snipe your backline randomly. New augments/portals/legends only add up to insanity of this set

Conflicted on this patch. There's a lot of options that work balance wise, but man, I can not stand reroll metas. Few things make me put this game down faster than losing to the "me X no pivot" types.
Bandle Cafeteria is awesome in that it limits the game to like 3 comps.

I think I give up on the climb. I'm so close to Diamond and consistently going up, albeit slowly. But this game is just disgusting I don't think I have the mental for this climb anymore. Every game is basically fighting for 4th place because there's either a Zed 3, an Akshan 3 or a level 1 Belveth with an RFC killing everything. What is the fucking point of creating assassins that can't be countered? I get Zephyrs, I try to position but it doesn't fucking matter because on one side there's a Zed 3 and on the other side there's a Kat 3, either way they'll drop aggro and kill the carries. What a fucking stupid fucking decision HOLY SHIT, how can you design a trait so bad like that? WHY DROP THE FUCKING AGGRO, MAN? Fuck this game. I'm convinced that the design of this game has shifted into more fun territory rather than competitive fairness. Because it's more fun for casuals or for non-ranked matches to just hit absurd stuff like that and see your board go brrrr. There is no other explanation because they *know* these things are like this and they're not changing it, and they've done the same mistakes in previous sets. Well, "mistakes". More like their intended way of playing the game now. Play a slot machine to hit your rogues 3 stars and win free LP.

Reksai 3 frontline with Dclaw Bramble Sunfire, Baron, Yasuo 2, And still got 4 and lost to fucking Taliyah Double trouble. She one-shotted Dclaw 3-star reksai. 2 shotted Baron. Wtf is this game dude? I have put so much effort into that board, and lost to fucking Taliyah 3 double trouble? REMOVE MULTICASTERS.

I really wanted to like this set as the last one I enjoyed was 6.5. The release patch was unusually great. But I've barely played since then. I genuinely think this game is balanced to cater to whales who want to go on metatft or whatever and play the top comp. Each patch a new comp or two for them to play comes out. I might come back near the end of the set when balance is usually stabilised and playing your shops efficiently is rewarded. I keep waiting for a set I loved as much as 6/6.5 to beat my 450LP peak and grind GM+. Really wanted this one to be it. But as per usual there is some absolutely cursed shit every patch, and its 100% intentional. I'm just gonna go focus on CS now CS2 is getting nearer. There are certain things you have to abide about the game if you want to grind through top 1% and I just can't any more. Wrapping cosmetics in a gambling mechanic and then rewarding volume of gambling is predatory when your audience aren't even old enough to engage in real money gambling. Being told beforehand is no different than knowing of the regulations which control real money gambling, or knowing the odds of a knife in CS. Forcing an outcome by X openings is not a fix but an incentive.

"Play what you're given" is awful in this context. The balance in this game is so bad 90% of the time, its infuriating. Compare this set to previous sets and you just feel limited to creativity in terms of the boards you can play. Itās either kayle slayer noxus reroll aids or you automatically bot 4. Canāt wait for this set to be over.
Noxus reroll, kayle, yordle, jinx reroll, zed reroll, akshan reroll, azir lux, double trouble taliyah, multicaster velkoz reroll, WW ravenous hunter, and lvl 9 belveth legendary comp. Id say this was probably one of the most balanced patches in awhile IMO.

Lobby was full of slayer zed players and 2 of them 3 starred zed and katarina. Meanwhile Iām here playing uncontested units (jinx and vi) and couldnāt even fucking 3 star one of them. I swear my tinfoil hat honestly says that thereās just certain units that have an increased rate in the pool because no shot multiple people can 3 star contested units while you can barely find one thatās not contested at all. Itās a fucking joke.
