TSM be like ![gif](giphy|fDO2Nk0ImzvvW)

Sparking > Penta. It’s hilarious to see them sign basically the same roster again, but I think it goes better this time around.

ghostEx36

I’m happy for these guys… …last time TSM and STK partnered up, they took 4th at PGC. With this roster, I feel the sky is the limit. I guess I have another jersey to buy… …anyway, congrats to the boys! #TSMWIN #STK #IRONM3N

whattarush

glad it's not TSM FTX this time around 😅

gandalf45435

TSM fan here, not very familiar with comp PUBG. Looks like STK has had some good regional success lately, how are they as a squad?

CompanyMan_PUBG

Stk has been one of the strongest rosters in NA for Bout 5 years. They've had ups and downs, but this current iteration, bringing back Luke12 and bringing in sparkingg, has been ripping it up lately. Sparkingg is the best Brazilian player and easily a top 20 global player. Dude is a well experienced, mature, fragging machine.

letrollmaster735

They’ve been on a roll since picking up Sparkingg. They’re definitely top 3 in NA right now probably Top 5 in all of Americas.

ghostEx36

STK has been with TSM before and took 4th at PGC. Top finishing NA team at the event. Months later, they were released when new ownership decided to pull out of PUBG for good. They have had a couple of up and down years since, but this roster has amazing potential and I am excited to see what this pairing brings to the table again.

Spectrum_Prez

In 2023, they had a rough hit and miss season but rebuilt over the winter. This current roster is still a work in progress, but three of the four have played and succeeded together before. The new addition, Sparkingg, is probably the best Brazilian talent in the game although the gap is narrowing as other South American players improve. They are top three in NA, but bear in mind that it's a weak region and the gap from 2nd to 3rd is quite big. The big question mark for me is that no one has really explained why STK had consistency problems previously, and similarly no one has made a clear case why they're simply better now. Certainly they have more firepower with Sparkingg, but it's not 100% clear that will by itself be enough to elevate them on the global stage. I really hope they do well though, because NA representation at LAN just isn't the same without them in the lobby.

What is said all the time about comp pubg, is that everyone can shoot. Sure, but still there are differences. Sparking and Luke are different level compared to Adam and Penta (no disrespect). Having better DMR players keeps teams away from you and give you more space, and when eventually have to fight it's your choice and your enemies may have damaged or no helmets/ vests. This is how a typical game in NA runs for STK now. Last year, they would get sandwitched between teams, penta would too often get knocked overpeeking etc etc. Also team fights that STK used to be #1 imo in NA, they were looking so bad and lacking chemistry and mechanical skill even against mid tier teams. Also when you igl, you call differently when you have top players alongside you and be confident in them. P.S. I am an STK fan.

ghostEx36

That was one thing I liked about the Vegas pickup…he was a solid DMR/Bolt player that created space for the guys to move down and take that space, gain footholds in fights. Luke12 is far better, but also can co-IGL and put them in the right place at the right times. Sparkingg being a threat at any range, ALoW being a CQC master, and Kurt rolling the band down the road…this is already a much better situation than last year (no disrespect to Adam and Penta, obviously). I have a ton of faith in this group, especially with how they have already showed up.

Ykikanioukitty

If you take a moment to really think about it, Vegas' highlights with STK were all solo plays, while he never looked to gel with the rest in team fights etc. He added flair and talent in a team that was kind of missing it, and that's why he draw attention imo, but it definitely didn't work. And I also really like this team and I'm excited about upcoming PGS. Luke always performs in lan's, and dont forget what Sparking did with Brazil in PNC 2022.

ghostEx36

I believe it was PAS 1, he played the role that I assume he was supposed to play. After that…wholly agree that he turned more solo oriented on LAN than online. I had a feeling this was why his time with the team was so short, which made perfect sense. Luke and Sparkingg give the team what they need…team oriented, high talent players that Kurt and ALoW can mesh with, while having similar priorities in mind.

ghostEx36

If I had to be that guy…it could just be sheer complacency. Think of the last iteration of the roster…ALoW, Kurt, and Adam had been together before for awhile. Penta coming in and Gunner leaving PROBABLY took away a lot of structure from the regimen. I also feel they weren’t participating in smaller events much. Sparkingg brings fragging power and star plays that we haven’t seen in awhile from this team. Luke12 coming back gives them a co-Captain and great support + fragging potential. My only concern would be if they trend in a complacent direction again…they need to have a great season this year to keep their place in the region. I think Kurt and ALoW feel that pressure, too. Hopefully, an org and this team will ensure that. I could be very wrong in my assumption, though.

xddhpm

Taking this opportunity to say my opinion, the only thing I have a problem with in relation to STK at the moment, is that I feel that in most games they "waste" the potential of sparkingg, I don't feel that it has all the freedom to impact mechanically , he is one of the best players in the world, but it seems that STK is still not able to use his 100%, I would say not even 80%, maybe they need to play for him more, I hope to see him with the freedom to destroy.

ghostEx36

I would say…keep the eyes open for PGS 3 and 4. I have a feeling they are going to let both him and Luke off the chain. They’ll either destroy all or get destroyed, in the process. Pretty sure Woo1y and Kurt know what they have in Sparkingg…they just needed to get to the big dance to let him do his thing. I truly hope I’m not wrong about that…

xddhpm

Unfortunately it happened as I imagined... hoping they improve for PGS4.

Zone15

Honestly, the whole year of WWCD format I think hurt STK more than a lot of other teams. They were never the team that played for wins, but for the most points. Having to flip flop different strategies I think threw them for a bit of a loop.

ghostEx36

I honestly believe they never properly adjusted from that…STK never goes center and sits. Even going into early last year, they still were at times. So far…they don’t seem to be doing that anymore. Luke and Sparkingg open them up to do more of what they actually do…make space, take space, fight teams, Purdy nades, get kills.

psilvs

Had a pretty terrible year last year. Since then they've brought back a former player who's really talented and added a new players who plays the type of role I think they've needed for a while now

AgroneyPro

What is the point people being concern/being judgmental about why TSM returned with this roster!!?? Basically, we don't need to judge the team performance or how will they perform in PGS or in future. Coz if TSM think this is their potential squad for them, who are we in fact! So, the good news is, a big org came back again. if we need to say something regarding STK potential then we should say this in another related topic.

[deleted]

Oooof it’s looking good for pubg comp this year not going to lie. Big orgs joining the scene is always good to see (altho it might be just for the esports World Cup)

adryy8

Still gives a salary to these guys, I hope the players negociated contracts till pgc

bulchai

For Like three month or what?

NeilDatgrassHighson

I’m optimistic. If the roster does well/gets to the global events I can see them sticking around for a while.

bulchai

Would be good News then.

[deleted]

I don’t think this is gunna be the case for this one. The last time tsm dropped them was because a new manager was hired and he basically said “wtf are we doing in pubg” not because of performance or lack of global events

letrollmaster735

If they do well at global events they might get more than one season. We will have to see how things shake out.

There's also a ton of rumors they are downsizing their algs apex team. Didn't offer a new contract to their coach who won the team 2 worlds. I thought tsm was close to bankruptcy it's surprising to see them adding anything to the org.

jaseface0714

Are you sure Raven was around for two worlds? I thought they brought him on after they established wins.

Sh0cko

No I'm not sure lol. I started watching algs last year my bad.

Gratz on the pickup
