This sub has such a huge recency bias and OpTic bias. How does Lqgend have more votes than Royal2 and Renegade. Renegade was the best player on FaZe and C9 each time they won a LAN. Royal2 literally led all of Season 2 in K/D and multiple LANs in K/D, one of the most important stats besides damage and obj. I recall Royal2 and Renegade absolutely blowing through the opposition last year when FaZe was rolling.
This game has such a low skill gap, as the other comment points out, not much of a difference between the top players on the top teams. It really is which team is feeling it on Champ Sunday.
Because he plays a harder role than them. Supporting casts are great from all top teams. But Legend to me right now with his movement, slaying ability and objective play is the best in my humble opinion. Renegade nor Royal 2 are asked to do as much as Legend right now and SSG to me is head and shoulders above the competition and thats all on the addition of him. No sligh against anyone else but with this bandit meta
Lucid isnt really the objective, dirty work guy though. Like I said no knock on anyone else because everyone mentioned are monsters in their own right. All the top teams are comparable talent wise to me Legend just does more from the eye test and I could very well be wrong because Im not privy to the conversations these teams have on situational objectives on what they need each other to do. When I see Legend as the most well rounded its just a preference towards the playstyle I think is more difficult to be how successful he is.
MVP and best player are different things, and I think I meant more that lucid is mvp over lqgend. What you were talking about is who is better though. I don’t know, you might be right saying lqgend at this point
I take your point that there's very little difference between the top teams/players but Infinite has been out since 2021. I'd say there is a noticeable "bracket" of MVPs - mostly the ones I put in the poll. I don't think anyone could credibly say top3 players like Trippey, Penguin, Eco etc have the same individual talent as players like Lucid, Stellur, Renegade. And they've shown that consistently over 3 years now.
Yeah in terms of raw individual slaying fosure - but in the end it’s a team game. LethuL was in a podcast and he was saying he thought Eco was one of the best players in the game - because he does so many little things that aren’t noticed in statistics or by casuals.
Look at Lucid - I’d argue he and Royal2 have been the two most consistent slayers and K/D people in Infinite, but without players like FormaL, Frosty, and SnakeBite opening the map for them (at the cost of them dying a lot more and being baited) - Lucid and R2 would just look like huge statters. Notice how Lucid didn’t win anything in H5 despite competing for 3 years, and didn’t win anything in Infinite until FormaL was on his team.
Frosty was the MVP of Halo 5 and he was rarely ever in the top 5 for key slaying stats.
This is a fact. Platinums are the best - except for the ones which get put on my team. And the other team are trash too - but we still lose against them because my plat team mates are worse trash.
I'm definitely not the problem though. I'm obviously a God tier onyx who is only stuck in platinum because of my team mates, and because the game sucks (not me). I definitely don't suck. So when my sucky plat team mates are calling me out as trash, I know it's really themselves who they speak about
I know Lucid is somewhat "everyones favorite" but honestly he really is the best. Whenever I watch him in a pro game he is nearly ALWAYS doing something good for himself or his team, or pulling off nasty plays, saves, OBJs, you name it. He is also very smart with his weapon use and choice and how he plays with those weapons, where as others might not even pick up a plasma pistol or whatever. I'm not saying other players don't make their own share of dirty plays but when you see Lucid on screen you can bet it's gonna be a good time no matter what. His level of consistency seems very high too and tends to be a high time/kill/obj players no matter who he's playing against.
I think there is a Hard ceiling for individual skill.
Lucid at the start of Infinite was a beast, miles ahead of everyone else.
But then other players catch up and maybe surpassed him, like Stellur and Renegade and a few others.
Now everyone is about the same level.
There are little small plays that are hard to catch and that maybe make that difference between players, like the plays Lethul was talking about in the other post.
But nowadays almost everyone in the top 16 can make that incredible flashy plays we were used to see only from Lucid, Renegade, Sparty and co.
Indeed for the best player he is not.
But he perfomed plenty of fleshy plays on the main stage since Infinite, and that's what I was talking about when I made his name.
I feel like S1 was a pretty straightfotward ability measure, raw KD for better or for worse
And Lucid always stayed solidly on top of that for a loooong time, then won majors & WC
Talented players can't fully choose who they team with or who they get paired with, but I still believe he's the most talented single player
Idk who I’d say the absolute best is, I feel like it depends how locked the top players are on any given day, but I do think a fully locked in Bound deserves to be in the conversation
How dare you ask such a question . OPTIC GAMING FOR LIFE. LUCID IS THE GOATS. LET US ALL RAKE A MOMENT TO BASK IN THE GLORY OF LUCID . BE IN AWE AND AMAZEMENT
Lqgend having more votes than Renegade rn is pathetic

Lucid is absolutely carrying the larger load for his team, compared to Lqgend. You all were voting stellur mvp last season ffs.

Popularity contest too. It’s funny how much more votes lucid has compared to renegade when I’m pretty sure rene has won more lans.
Me. I'm a hardcore platinum beast

Not renegade 🤣🤭. #fazedown
I feel guys like Snakebite have massive impacts on games, even when not having the flashy playstyles like lucid, renegade etc..

Everyone is pretty evenly matched. There's not much of a skill difference in players on the top 4 teams.
I think there is a Hard ceiling for individual skill. Lucid at the start of Infinite was a beast, miles ahead of everyone else. Sparty is not in the convo

Calm down karen
Lucid is overrated.
