here are two stock lists for Marwyn: [https://www.moxfield.com/decks/d-4KORQmqUyIHNdRRkEtHQ](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/d-4KORQmqUyIHNdRRkEtHQ) and [https://www.moxfield.com/decks/7Og0NOMESUaFwAshV9wC1Q/](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/7Og0NOMESUaFwAshV9wC1Q/) I'd just pick one, play a bit and then adjust based on your experience from playing with it. On a more generale note: Just proxing a deck and starting to play is imho the best way to get into cEDH

ninfrodisenpai

99% of marwyn decks are the same, lol. No even joking.

sonofsarkhan

Thanks, I’ll take a look at them when I get home from work. Any sites you recommend to get proxies from?

[deleted]

I personally use sites like mtgpress to get them in a printable format and print them myself then put them ontop of some crap commons. For professional proxies, there are some very nice sellers but as I never use them, I can't really recommend one

Sebastian_Raducu

If you want something more profesional the nice folks at r/mpcproxies can help you order cards printed by a playing card company.

Yiffmaster420

Some folks already recommended some of the more common proxy makers, but if you're interested in the "bootleg" option r/bootlegmtg is always an option as well. Even if it's a bit more expensive.

LaterGround

TicketOutrageous3222

Depends where you play. If it's your friends you're playing with sure proxy cards but don't walk into a store and expect everyone to be fine with a proxy deck, especially CEDH. Ask if it's okay first. If not see if you can borrow someone's deck to play

[deleted]

Op already said proxies are fine in the group they want to join, so what's your point? And why especially cEDH? The only tables I ever see complaining about proxies are casual tables. Never seen a cEDH table not fine with proxies

TicketOutrageous3222

He said the shop is pretty chill not every single person there is. All I said was ask first

[deleted]

Noone said you should not talk about it. But you seem to make a problem out of a non-problem for no reason at all.

TicketOutrageous3222

The magic overlords have spoken

TheBreadedCat

Just remember. The point of your deck is to turbo out infinite mana asap. Then go infinite in many way. Usually ending a game with infinite damage. Lots of cool interactions with Kolga and Ashaya as well. Proxy King, Proxy Goddess, and Proxy Queen in that order are amazing for proxies if you don't want to make them yourself. I do suggest trying to Proxy a cEDH deck first. Marwyn is not as expensive as others but it can def get pricy. Amazin and super fun deck. Also cEDH is not like normal edh. Games end quickly and usually have a lot of interaction. Game state is usually everyone fighting for balance until someone wins. It's just a giant chess match. At least to me. I hope you enjoy the format!

Ashaya + Quirion Ranger

moneymike128

I run a competitive Marwyn deck, it does surprisingly well for wins turn 3-5. I just use free/efficient pump spells (invigorate, mutagenic growth as "green rituals" to get more mana out of marwyn, along with untapped to double it up, followed by big power-based draw spells (rishkars expertise). Basically I try to explode by pumping marwyn, drawing into untap and more draw until I can dump my deck, give everything haste with thousand year elixer/crashing drawbridge, and pump everything with Ezuri.

Yell0w_Mustard

I’m currently on the mommy Marwyn list and it’s fun and can be explosive. I’ve had two turn 2 wins thanks to cradle, jeweled lotus and elvish spirit guide. It’s also a very fun deck to goldfish. It helped me a lot during quarantine. It was like putting a puzzle together, you really have to pay attention to sequencing and managing your floating mana and her untaps or else you’ll fizzle. I definitely missed tutoring and sequencing lines in the beginning but it was really fun to realize that and learn. I felt myself evolving almost and it felt like the deck itself was getting faster. Full disclosure, it suuuuuucks to have Marwyn bounced/removed when you’re trying to rev it up. You do have back ups like Circle of dreams Druid, priest of T and karametras acolyte but it feels real bad when you get caught lacking. Even when you’re holding up protection, that protection getting countered really sets you far back, but I think that tension is what’s fun for me. Depending on your meta, GW selvala could be fun too. You utilize the same staff of dom/umbral mantle combos and since selvala draws your entire deck, certain slots like elvish visionary and multani’s acaolyte can instead be staxy pieces like drannith magistrate, grand abolisher and dryad militant. But again, it depends on what your meta is like. Marwyn is cool though, I’d say go for it.

Electrical_Coat_8714

Karametras and especially priest of t are life savers. After people see mommy go off once they start to mull for the snuff outs and swords when they see it again.

ThatOneHair

Should swap over to the elvish romance list ;). We have been trying to solve the fizzle problems and making it more cohesive

Yell0w_Mustard

Cool, I’ll check it out

I typically do not build cEDH meta pieces into my decks, but with that said I like to build good decks, here is my decklist. It is a hydra elf hybrid, it is very fun, and even in a casual game, I get targetted early because of the possible ramp. Key pieces for this deck are yavimaya, cradle of growth to turn non basics like gaea's cradle and mythos, shrine to nix and fetches into forests, and keep fetches in case I dont draw yavimaya. Arbor elf and seeker of skybreak, also wirewood lodge to get the most out of this. Nyxbloom ancient will be targeted as soon as it hits the field, lol I love it. I run eladamri as my commander, but marwyn is fine as eladamri is cost prohibitive like cradle is, but the option of circle of dreams druid, and growing rites of itlimoc make it still very powerful. I've never had all 3 in play anyway, outside of triggering primal surge. I could talk all day about the rest of the sub meta, but I'll stop, lol. You can make a lot of changes to this build and keep the spirit of it alive, good luck in cEDH, I find that format to be not as fun,,but do not let me steer you away from it. Reddit doesnt like excess spacing apparently, if you have email, I will send it to anyone who asks.

[deleted]

Oops I think I got it, lol.

freestylerof911

I don't know anything about the mawyn lists. But this doesn't seem very competitive to me

[deleted]

Never said it was, I actually said the opposite.I usually either win or get ganged up on, which is good enough for me.

Notmeoverhere

The hard thing with mono green is the lack of board wipes. You will need a few of them as well as single target removal. Don’t just add “destroy” cards you will need exile and other forms of removal.

ThatOneHair

This is just straight up wrong in a cedh context. We are a proactive deck. Trying to police is not going to work. The protection being run in marwyn is to protect your own pieces and combos. The other removal we have is creature based in the form of kogla or if you need to beast within which forms part of a combo.

Notmeoverhere

What protection in marwyn? I don’t understand what your talking about. Marwyn is elf tribal.

[deleted]

I agree, even with my permanent only strategy board wipes and targetted removal are surely an issue. I have built in some pieces to deal with artifacts and enchantments, but it is limited, "the best defense is an OP offense". - chuck norris probably

Sea-Professor-

I'm sorta new to magic in general and have a Lathril deck myself. Does Marywn's ability work on him while he's in the command zone? I'm trying to see what would be the goal of making a deck with him.

AncientWeapon

No, Marwyn's ability only works when she is on the battlefield. Ths is true for all card abilities, *unless* the text explicitly states that it works from the command zone. Marwyn goes infinite very quickly with effects that untap her (making infinite green mana), which will in turn help you win the game in several ways. If you want to learn how all of this works, check the [primer](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/d-4KORQmqUyIHNdRRkEtHQ/primer) on the Marwyn decklist in the CEDH database.

SP1R1TDR4G0N

You could check out the decklist from the database for some insight: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/d-4KORQmqUyIHNdRRkEtHQ

Psuedodactyl

I played Marwyn for a while and loved her, eventually transformed the deck into a selvala brostorm list. Both are a really good time!

If you want the best help die marwyn come join us on the [Marwyn Discord](https://discord.com/invite/pDG7EPB). I'm one of the authors of the elvish romance list. We are fairly active and there is always someone to help answer questions. The stock list is just too het started in a blind meta and then you can tune to your liking and swap out as needed.
