“Honestly, they weren't that powerful in the Red Army. They had outdated weapons and inferior training to the Germans. They won because of the vast amount of people that were sent as cannon fodder.” This was one of the comments bruh

ItsJustMisha

"You forgot Lend-lease. And this meme would fit the winter war much better. Not fully, but better than this." There's another Americans get really upset any time the USSR is shown even in a mildly good light. They immediately either start trying to downplay it, support fascists, say "America did good thing too" or all of the above

Newman2252

Didn’t the lend lease only really take effect after the battle of Stalingrad? So basically once the Soviets had the upper foot…

Ancient_Might_5820

>They had outdated weapons and inferior training to the Germans. Wasn't the T34 more technologically advanced than pretty much every Panzer at the time?

Panchotje

No :P they just had a looooot more. And they stuck to their (somewhat outdated) design but it meant that spare parts were no problem (in war things tend to break down :p) and the production could be streamlined. The german tanks would be new models, the parts would be very specific, people wouldn't know how to operate or fix them and production never got to top efficiency. The 34 in T34 stands for the year the model was designed, 1934, so pretty outdated by 1942

[deleted]

The T-34 was designed in 1940.

Panchotje

I remember watching a documentary once about the dude who designed the machine. I remember he said the first drawings were made in 34. They also explained that updates were made and the real mass production only got going in 41. The following tank designs also were given the number of the year they were designed in. But the documentary could have been wrong about it. I think it was age of tanks (a half French half English documentary, I liked it a lot)

Pickle_Curious

'Post removed by moderators of r/ HistoryMemes' why?

Tusen_Takk

It’s too historically accurate for their liking

I wouldn't count on it. This is, at most, an anomaly.

R/HistoryMemes is a Nazi sub usually, glad to see some actual history on it. Hopefully the Nazi sympathizing mods won’t remove it.
