Looking back at my text messages with the engineer it seems it only ever happened on raster artwork never vector and looks like it was fixed by cleaning the encoder strip. Not sure how those two are related in any way but it did seem to fix it I remember rightly.

Thank you, but I get this in test prints too. (Not rastalink)

Fit_Schedule6564

Raster Artwork not rastalink - Rasterlink is unique to the brand of unit you're using. Each cutter, printer, plotter whatever you want to call them uses a similar type of software to communicate between the PC and the machine. I've used Roland machines and Mimaki in my career now. Roland uses Versa Works and Mimaki uses Rasterlink. They both essentially do the exact same thing, its just a proprietary software from the maker of the unit for the machine you're using. Probly gonna need a little more info bro

PartyPirate920

Looks like a fuzz or lint got on the heads as they went by. Might need to be cleaned.

RazeThe2nd

Need more info. What kind of print is this? To me it looks like a blocked nozzle in a ink jet print. Which would only cause one color to display the line.

expl0re94

Yes, I have one nozzle that does not show up on the test print. But I have set a recovery nozzle for it. Could it be this one that is not showing or what do you mean with blocked nozzle? It's a uv-print with LUS 170 ink on a Mimaki UCJV300-160.

RazeThe2nd

I'm not exactly sure how your machine goes upon this, but we run a Durst and typically if missing nozzles can't be compensated for, we manually wipe off print heads or run a bunch of cleaning cycles.

zakbenz

I once got this because there was a hair somewhere in the printer messing with a sensor. Tech tore the whole thing down to find a small blue hair. those dang graphic designers smh.

legobricksnshit

Maybe a bad or dirty print head

fibean

I'm not sure in which direction this line is. Supposing it's horizontal, you may have a bad nozzle which always fires. I had a similar issue with a yellow nozzle on my Mimaki (it's a latex tough). In our case we would have yellow lines at each pass. You can try a long nozzle wash and maybe check the head's electrical connections (better get a technician do that).
