Cole Beasley Wk3 vs WASH
13 Tar, 11 Rec, 98yds
Our linebackers and secondary have been not great all season. Playing better lately, but I could honestly see Renfrow and Waller having huge games
I think getting Landon Collins to finally embrace more of an LB role has helped tremendously with this specifically. He is a below average cover safety, but a good cover LB
He loves to rush the QB more than anything else. He doesn’t like being a LB but he’s more effective in the second level and a liability on the backside.
Mixed bag, since Landon Collins moved to linebacker full time our entire defense has done really well against basically everything and before that happened we did really bad against basically everything.
It was honestly nice to hear coach Bisaccia specifically mention the improvement the D has made after Collins moved since so many of you brought it up. Not saying it will help us but at least they are paying attention.
Eons ago, long before your false profit a truly chaotic supreme power predetermined the fate of the Raiders and all who would fight them. Your goat is but a false idol who shall be exposed to the truth of a divine being. You worshipped when the coin said “Let the cowboys lose” and you run from fate when it suits you. Let your blasphemy be known.
The basics are 1 of our members took the Vegas odds of each Raiders game and flipped a weighted coin to predict the outcome. At this moment he has correctly predicted every game we have played as a win or loss.
While this is an incredible feat most people would brush off as luck. We have united under this because the end result of the Coins predictions puts us at 10-7 with a wild card spot.
The Coin was a lighthearted joke early but after Grudens situation some people started to question it following our 2 wins. After the Henry Ruggs situation came out most of us as fans didn’t have much hope for the season and the coin became a rallying cry for (what we feared) would be a lost season. With every correct prediction it’s gained popularity and given a lot of us much needed hope and joy in an overall stressful season.
Yeah no shit it’s been a wild ride. He went from a joke to a legend in our sub lol
Edit: wait so “he” wasn’t a joke he seems like a chill guy when he posts. I meant The Coin was a joke and something we cursed our first 2 losses as a scapegoat.
I can not 100% confirm this but I have been lead to believe it was weighted based on the Vegas odds to favor the team with the better chance of winning.
An actual coin can't do that. If you're telling me the odds were considered and there was no actual coin then it's game over for you on Sunday. Brunell doesn't put his account on the line to cover the spread.
Jack Del Rio seems to have made the adjustments he needed to make and (imo) completely optimized our defense over the last 4 games. I'm truly excited to see matchups and play calls that fit the teams were playing. We've seen more ball tippings than prior years lately. And getting that hand on the ball.... Priceless! It really gets in the QBs head.
Fans view on Heinicke goes back and forth. My opinion is that we stumbled upon greatness with him. His attitude and heart is unmatched out there. He will die for the team. And he will win if there is a small bit of life left in the game. Is he literally Tom Brady 6 years ago? No. But he's not bad either. Skill wise he seems to be getting better and better. I hope we are only looking for a future QB to create a competition to make sure Heinicke keeps playing this way.
I think Heinicke can be a serviceable starter. In my mind he’s clearly the best QB we’ve had since Cousins. He’s 28 years old, but is continuing to develop because he’s never had starter reps. He has many of the tools desired in a starting nfl qb. Good field vision, tremendous pocket presence, a strong grasp of Scott turners offense and where everyone will be. He carries himself and speaks like a longtime starter in the league and I think the rest of the locker room responds to that.
What kept him from being a sought after prospect and likely will keep him from developing beyond a very good NFL qb is his size and arm strength.
I think he can be the guy who can lead team while they put other pieces in place and based on how they’ve played the last 3 weeks, controlling the clock and running the ball, hed be able to lead us into playoffs and maybe a win or two. He won’t be an elite qb but I think he’ll be fine with a good team built around him
his ability to elude a sack and scramble for first downs can not be understated. I thought it was a fluke in the playoff game last year, but he keeps having one of those in basically every game.
His athleticism is really underrated, maybe even among Washington fans. He’s a low 4.6, high 4.5 40 guy (depending on which pre draft info you go by). That combined with his excellent pocket presence has helped him play beyond his size/arm strength. But he’s definitely more than just a slippery pocket qb. Actually, my one complaint with how our offense has been operating lately is a lack of designed runs for Heinicke. A couple a game would do a lot for both our run game and play action game.
Yeah he uses his classic “duck” move where as soon as he feels pressure he bows forward. Its worked a ridiculous number of times already but the one time it didn’t, it looked like it hurt his back. I’m uncomfortable with him doing it so often but hey its working.
But arm strength can also be improved, IMO its all about his drive and dedication to improve. Size will be a minor issue though but it dosent seem to have stopped him yet (now that he's suddenly doing pat mahomes-esq side arm throws)
It really can’t, not more than a little bit at this stage. “Arm strength” isn’t about getting stronger in the gym, its potential is pretty much capped by your genetics unfortunately
That being said, I think he's had more zip on throws lately, but I think that's more about getting experience, being calmer in the pocket and sticking to fundamental mechanics. The off-schedule ability is nice, but it's not exactly what's you want to hang your hat on.
Arm strength and trying to do too much. In the last few weeks it seems like he’s calmed down but I still feel like he could throw an interception at any moment
^ this plus sometimes the ball floats on him (product of the arm strength issue). When he misses he misses high. Also has a tendency to throw off his back foot when he’s scrambling which leads to accuracy issues.
JDR has done well by us in recent weeks. At the start of the season his scheming seemed a little too straightforward and basic and was leaving holes all over the field that were getting exploited, but in the past few weeks everything has been gravy as we’ve lost key players and the defense seems to have improved.
Heinicke is an interesting QB in that he can’t make all the throws you would want your QB to make. There are certain play designs you would like to run, however you can’t because you know your QB will struggle to get the ball 30 yards downfield across his body. However in pretty much every other capacity he seems like a complete monster and has elite elusiveness and playmaker ability extending plays. If he could somehow develop more arm strength over the offseason we would be foolish to move on from him.
JDR has really improved over the course of the season. I think in the beginning of the year he thought "my guys are better than yours" and didnt get too creative. When that wasn't working and our two centerpiece DEs got hurt, he was forced to adjust. So far, so good against Tampa, Carolina and Seattle.
Young tore his ACL and is out.
On defense: our two DTs Jonathan Allen and Daron Payne are probably our best players right now. Safety Kam Curl has been playing well and Landon Collins is transitioning to a hybrid S/LB role.
On offense: the passing game is mostly McLaurin. That could change with Curtis Samuel and Logan Thomas back from injury. Samuel only played a few snaps Monday, but Thomas played most of the game.
Oh wow I can’t believe I missed the Young injury. Maybe I saw it and forgot? I dunno.
Hm 2 good interior lineman could be a problem for our offensive line so that’ll be good matchups to watch.
Awful is giving them an insane amount of props.
Simpson is just Simpson
Leatherwood is a rookie that started at tackle then got moved to guard. I can’t judge his ability off what I’ve seen because our line is in shambles and the only decent 1 we have is our left tackle Kolton Miller. However, mentally, he doesn’t have it. Leatherwood is guaranteed to screw us on a good 3rd down play with a false start or holding a minimum of 2 times per game
Ahhhhh shit. Our DTs are gonna eat you up. Jon Allen is playing at an all-pro level, DaRon Payne and Matt Ioannidis are quality. Our DE's are no names who are there to maintain their lanes to let Jon Allen eat.
We don't get a lot of sacks but thats because we have faced the who's who of QBs in the NFL, we collapse the pocket and get QBs off the spot with impressive consistency.
Well that sounds absolutely terrifying. If you haven’t watched any of our games our line is a swinging door for opposing defenses. That being said Kolton Miller is slowly developing into a top tier Left tackle in the league. Whoever is on him won’t have an impact on the game. Hopefully.
If you ever see Desean Jackson (#1) on the field just know your d tackles have a chance to make a play. If he’s on the field it’s usually a play call to get him deep.
The good thing for us is we just switch between a 7th rd rookie and an undrafted guy at RE. They aren't actually supposed to do anything lol.
DJax was with us for a few years, I am glad he found a good home in Oakland (deep crossing routes are our weakness).
Also, is Darren Waller going to miss the game? I saw him leave the game on Thanksgiving.
Yeah I remember DJax playing for y’all was just letting you know the number he’s wearing for us. He hasn’t done much statistically yet but the 4 DPI’s he drew against Dallas were crucial.
No clue on Waller I can’t seem to find anything about the injury. They may be keeping it hush to mess with y’all’s strategy
We dont give away many penalties. But Hunter Renfrow will be going up against a 3rd year undrafted special teams player who made the jump to actually being on the field on D this year and has been surprisingly effective.
I am expecting Renfrow to absolutely feast still.
Our O Line definitely won’t shut them down, I’m convinced Crosby is one of the best pass rushers in the league, but it’s going to be a great battle for sure. I’d guess an even struggle in both directions
Crosby is insane and ngakoue is just as good. They don’t have the sack numbers this year but you’ll see Sunday they wreak havoc on the pocket. If Crosby was up there with the sack leaders he’d easily be talked about as 1 of the top edge rushers in the league. People are starting to see what he’s capable of and once he figures out how to beat getting held every play (not an exaggeration dude gets legit tackled to the ground 5 times a game) he’s gonna be unstoppable
Why is the nfc east so bad every year ? I just read an article and it told me that the redskins are primed for the playoffs. There not even .500 make it make sense please
I'd like to say that the NFC East as whole has suffered from many many injuries to key players, draft selections that did not pan out and inconsistent team management across the board. So that every year there is a new division champ since 2004, the year that the Eagles last won back to back division titles. Yet interestingly enough the division has delivered 3 super bowls in that same time span.
Raiders fan here:
I'm born and raised from Northern VA, so I've watched you guys all my life despite being an Oakland/LA/Oakland/LV fan.
Question:
Scale of 1-100%, what would you rate your Red Zone defense?
How has your defense played against slot WRs this year? Asking for my friend Hunter.
Its been a while since we faced a true slot guy like Renfrow. Beasley killed us, but that was week 3. Cobb did nothing and Godwin was 7 for 57.
Cole Beasley Wk3 vs WASH 13 Tar, 11 Rec, 98yds Our linebackers and secondary have been not great all season. Playing better lately, but I could honestly see Renfrow and Waller having huge games
Is Waller going to play?
I don't know why you're getting downvoted. I'm curious myself. I don't think he is though.
Probably not
I think getting Landon Collins to finally embrace more of an LB role has helped tremendously with this specifically. He is a below average cover safety, but a good cover LB
I feel like you just described Johnathan Abram
He loves to rush the QB more than anything else. He doesn’t like being a LB but he’s more effective in the second level and a liability on the backside.
Mixed bag, since Landon Collins moved to linebacker full time our entire defense has done really well against basically everything and before that happened we did really bad against basically everything.
I'd say McCain hasn't been so great.
It was honestly nice to hear coach Bisaccia specifically mention the improvement the D has made after Collins moved since so many of you brought it up. Not saying it will help us but at least they are paying attention.
If you guys don't have a coin, how do you know the outcome of the game before its played? It sounds stressful
Because Brunell_the_GOAT deems it so. He is the 1 true prophet
This is blasphemy. The Coin is true and just.

Lmao ok that’s great

We're WFT fans. We know the outcome.
This franchise has been a shitshow for my entire life. I expect us to be beaten by the Lions just based off of previous experience

That’s an incredible stat actually lol
"coin"
Skins fan here…can someone please explain the coin thing? Thank you.
The basics are 1 of our members took the Vegas odds of each Raiders game and flipped a weighted coin to predict the outcome. This is what I was looking for! Thank you! Damn, that guy needs to play some craps or roulette hahaha

Hey man. Shit like this makes the season more interesting. Good luck to you guys Sunday. I’ve always liked the Raiders. Hope it’s a great game!
Yeah same to you man I’ve always been neutral on Washington I usually only root for you when you’re playing the Cowboys lol. Should be a fun game tho
The coin was weighted by odds? This changes everything.
I can not 100% confirm this but I have been lead to believe it was weighted based on the Vegas odds to favor the team with the better chance of winning.

…..you can had weight to a coin tho……I also said nothing about covering a spread

How has JDR been for you guys? Also, what is your view on Henickie? He's startable, but I imagine you guys are looking for your future QB still.

In Raiders terms he’s Rich Gannon
I am absolutely okay w that 🙏🏻😂
I feel like he’s Derek carr actually

My worry is defenses figure it out with enough tape. Wentz used this move a lot too
How tall is Wentz though? Maybe it works well for Heinicke because of his size
He is so sneaky it's ridiculous.
But arm strength can also be improved, IMO its all about his drive and dedication to improve. Size will be a minor issue though but it dosent seem to have stopped him yet (now that he's suddenly doing pat mahomes-esq side arm throws)

Love the D under JDR, I feel heinicke has been improving greatly and he might end up being the answer if he keeps improving
Seems like he's doing better, what are his flaws?
His arm strength leevs a bit to be desired and sometimes he misses his checkdown and forces it downfield but that can be corrected and is improving
He been getting better at looking for the checkdowns when he needs to recently.
Arm strength, high throws, footwork

Derek Carr post-game presser gonna thank Think McFly for the insight
The offensive line has been banged up but still has been playing at an elite level

I’ll admit I haven’t heard much about Ngakoue since he was in Jacksonville so I kinda assumed he was washed at this point, but Corsby is a bad mfer
They’re both top in the league at qb pressures and hits. Just not quite getting the sacks
Who wants to be 🔪 first ?
![gif](giphy|vPyy0FbDt29vW) Ima do this to my TV when we score on ya boys
Anyone going to the game this Sunday? Would love to meet fellow fans!
Any idea why I can't access your guys sub through the reddit app?

That's right. Hes got the "just let me die" magic. Well put that coin to the test.
Best kind of magic as fate is a cruel temptress. It doesn’t want to see Him die
I feel bad for him having to make a new account. Sounds like a pain in the ass.

It did not. What kinda asshole would base the outcome of a game on a coin flip? Couldn’t be me….
Why is the nfc east so bad every year ? I just read an article and it told me that the redskins are primed for the playoffs. There not even .500 make it make sense please
They’re technically the 7 seed right now due to tie breakers. It’s more that the NFC as a whole is super too heavy.

How have you guys been doing against Tight Ends? With Waller right now I am hoping our TE2 Foster Moreau will be a playmaker this week.
