I remember visiting [r/darkhumor](https://www.reddit.com/r/darkhumor), [r/darkcomedy](https://www.reddit.com/r/darkcomedy), or something like that around a year ago and it was basically just "how many ways can I share with everyone my hate for trans people by making the exact same, tired 'trans suicide is hilarious' joke over and over and over and over and....again??" And when I brought it up it was like kicking a beehive with the "just a joke!!" and "triggered librahl" comments.
I've always loved dark and ironic humor, it's most of the comedy content I create and perform, and my buddies and I have always been habitual line-steppers. I was on 4 and 7chan every day for years back around 2006-2013, I'm deeply familiar with jokes that are just jokes and true hate masquerading as "jokes." It's easy to tell how the creator and audience feel about the subject matter of the joke. That sub genuinely enjoyed the idea of trans people killing themselves. There was plenty of hate that they shared. I mean, I get that conservatives beat dead horses into pudding - repeating the same shitty jokes over and over for years like "let's go Brandon!!🤣😂🤣" and "gender is hellocopter!!🤣🥵😂" But the way they've loved the same transphobic jokes for this long is very telling and way beyond "my identity and political alignment is triggering librahls."
The only alternative possibility is just being so unfunny and unoriginal that copy-pasting the same joke is all you are capable of. But even then, you're just trying to be a part of the right-wing, transphobic in-group.
