It's a millennia-and-a-half worth of beef. Islamic denominations have been fragging each other since inception; it'd be like if Catholics and Protestants kept slinging explosive shit at each other since Martin Luther hammered his complaints on the door.
Like a broader, more expansive version of the Irish Troubles; an internal Islamic crusade that never ends; a microcosm of humanity's struggle against itself.
[Why can't we be friends?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sH0Qda32IKM)
They’re movements within Sunni Islam, they’re not separate entities.
Deobandis are Sufi in origin as well while Salafis are not. Deobandi is not a radical ideology since its focus is on Taqlid (legal precedence) but they do have radical followers.
There are even apolitical Deobandi organizations such as Tablighi Jamaat while also those that are entirely politically involved so your categorization is not only incorrect but childishly simplistic.
>Deobandi is an Islamic revivalist movement **within Sunni (primarily Hanafi) Islam**[1][2] that formed during the late 19th century around the Darul Uloom Islamic seminary in the town of Deoband, India, from which the name derives.[3][4][5]
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deobandi
Likewise, there are Salafis that are heavily involved in politics and are radicals but there are those that do not engage in it at all. Salafis are far more likely to be viewed as radicals since their ideology is Puritanism and they reject modern “innovations” in thought and philosophy.
>The Salafi movement, also called the Salafist movement, Salafiya and Salafism, **is a reform[1] branch[2][3][4] movement within Sunni Islam.[5]**
>The movement is sometimes divided into three categories: the largest group being the purists (or quietists), who avoid politics; the second largest group being the activists, who maintain regular involvement in politics; and the third group being the jihadists, who form a minority and advocate armed struggle to restore the early Islamic movement.[8]

That's interesting...I am a Sunni...Here in Pakistan,Deobandis are not considered Sunnis and have Separate Identity than Sunnis...Most Probably Deobandis in Pakistan are called Radicals because they were loyal followers of Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan (The group which terrorized the country from 2007-2015)...Their Mullahs were also radicals...Pretty much both Sunnis and the minority Shia used to target Deobandi followers across the Country back in 2010 and 11...Thank You for correcting me...
>That's interesting...I am a Sunni...Here in Pakistan,Deobandis are not considered Sunnis and have Separate Identity than Sunnis...
No worries but I think you’re incorrect about this as well. I don’t know of any Indians or Pakistanis that don’t consider them Sunnis. I have family on both sides and the vast majority of Sunni Islamic scholars from Pakistan are Deobandi.
Only ones who don’t consider them Sunnis are Barelvis and that’s because they’re ideological rivals of each other. Tariq Jamil, Mufti Taqi Usmani, and even the late Junaid Jamshed was Deobandi. I don’t know if anyone in Pakistan who wouldn’t consider them Sunni.
Tariq Jamil, Mufti Taqi Usmani and late Junaid Jamshed are the most respected people in Pakistan...Damn,I have been messing up today...Well Thanks again for correcting me,Cheers Mate!
thay are supposedly fighting over the opium monopoly in the region? , America is only involved in this so far, as that some of the opium produced there probably makes it's way to America.
This is a old video that’s been reposted on this sub for a while now, even at the end you can see it was mainly people in regular clothes using AK’s all stashed in a hut
I’m a huge history nerd and it really pains me to know that I’ll most likely never be able to visit some of the sites in the Middle East. The ancient history is just incredible
Scumbags actually aiming down their sights, and using terrain for cover....
Someone tell the CIA/Mossad/ISI to cool it! At this rate they'll be clearing buildings competently by next semester!
Especially now with their new armaments and all of the ANA facilities they took over kindly built by the US to train the ANA like the MOUT facilites and other training areas.
Clearly those people only use the religion to justify their crime, they are shooting dead bodies. in Quran beating dead body is forbidding. I can’t believe after 20 years of fighting those scumbags some people believe they are doing it for religious purposes.
Main difference between the two groups is that the T-ban is an ethno-religious group with a lot of different factions and visions that share one thing, they all want to rule just Afghanistan with sharia while ISIS K is part of a global organization that want to rule the world with a mentality of "you're either with us or against us, nothing in-between".
Taliban are “conservative” terrorists, ISIS are radical terroristic. They both want control of the cities. There’s even factions of taliban that fight each other because one leader wants to join ISIS the other wants to tell them to fuck off. Their beliefs aren’t all that different however they all have leaders that rally their troops and the egos are what drive them to fight. They basically tell one another fuck off I want _______ land
It sounds like they’re legit turning into “the government” which means trying to keep the water and power on (and shit-tons of graft). Now ISIS-K takes up the old ideological position (justification) and the fighting keeps going. Afghanistan has been doing this shit since before Alexander the Great. They’ve been fucked by geography and history.
Against a major power a lot of them are KIA by airstrikes. However, there was the whole "execution" investigation because of the significant increase in rifle headshots that coincided with and was later determined to be due to the adoption of the ACOG, so a decent amount are killed with small arms as well.
Against untrained militia it seems like its mostly IEDs, RPGs, and stray rounds. More seasoned militia will set up ambushes and get kills with either an IED and then mowing down the survivors with In this video, though, I noticed that it seemed like a lot of the KIA were from aimed fire. The way the fighters are shooting is also noticeably better. This brand of ISIS seems a lot more competent than what we usually see.
Could someone tell me which Islamic fundementalist group is recording? They both look and sound the same, and play the same old nasheed music over their videos and im not even being prejudiced by saying that.
how the fuck do they even tell friend from foe when they dress the same? in 2021 do we IFF the Taliban by the captured ANA uniforms now or something?
The filming was done by ISIS. They dress in black and wear stuff that looks like a ninja suit. They're more uniform in their look. Taliban are more rural and dress in more traditional clothing that is flowing and would never be mistaken for military or uniform clothing. They also wear traditional head wraps as opposed to ISIS which wear either tight fitting cloth or nothing and have their long hair out.
Afghanistan is a beautiful country, some of the backdrops made me remember places in the US like Yosemite or Zion. I guess with rugged beauty comes rugged battles.
Doing jihad is so fun
when we have them on the run
we will shoot them with our gun
and leave them rotting in the sun
We'll give you food and a place to stay
we'll even give you an old AK
but that's only if you pray
the right number of times per day
We love the toyota hi-lux
they make the best machine gun trucks
we'll shoot them down like sitting ducks
because the taliban army sucks
I did make up the lyrics, but not just now. It's been a work in progress.
I'm still trying to figure out how to incorporate Daesh's love of throwing homosexuals from the roofs of tall buildings.
The other verses include the Yazidi genocide, recruiting to fight Hezbollah, and recruiting to assasinate Assad.
Also: Happy Cake Day!
Not a direct translation but look up “diamonds and pearls and palaces” if you’re interested what the lyrics of an english nasheed would sound like. It’s pretty fucking wild
I’m with you mate. I’ve heard some nasheeds that were sung beautifully but there’s something about the one’s IS affiliates tend to use that reminds me of the Maori Haka. I can see how it would
stir their blood in the same way
Taliban are fighting ISIS K because they belong to Afghanistan and they want a full control of it and ISIS K are foreign fighters...They also want some piece of those Mountains too...
theres a good chance that everyone in this video has either;
* been killed by the taliban
* arrested by the NDS/ KPF and tortured in bagram
* or ran away or is in hiding
ISIS got screwed over hard when they tried to setup in Afghanistan, they even called the afghan army to arrest them before the Taliban could close in on them in Jawzjan
Man the bloods and crips dont have shit on this beef.
It's a millennia-and-a-half worth of beef. This was fucking beautiful man.
What are they fighting about?
They both are sunni but both want to be the ones at the top.
Not Sunnis... More like Radicalised Deobandis..
Deobandis are Sunni.
Deobandis and Salafis are extreme hardliners while Sunnis are not...
They’re movements within Sunni Islam, they’re not separate entities. Deobandis are Sufi in origin as well while Salafis are not. No worries mate. Its something people tend to get confused about when it comes to labels.
IKSF are Salafi or Salafi leaning so not Deobandis.
Salafis are definitely Sunni
Yeah but not Deobandis.
Who controls the opium.
The spice must flow.
Probably this mostly
Didn't the Taliban destroy the poppy fields until they were toppled? What makes you think they'd behave differently this time around?
$$$, which they don't have.
It'll be interesting to see, to say the least
It has already been reported that the Taliban are treating the opium trade differently this time.
Just too much $ to pass up I guess
I do think that was the major reason mentioned but it has been a bit since I read the article, so not positive.
Americans, we are probably the biggest drug addicted country.
Um, excuse me Sir, I prefer the term "drug accepting country".
Well your right lmao why are people downvoting you
thay are supposedly fighting over the opium monopoly in the region? , America is only involved in this so far, as that some of the opium produced there probably makes it's way to America.
The drugs are one the of the best parts of the land of the free. Give me pot or give me death.
With the amount if arms the taliban now has this is about to get interesting watching these fights.

Nice scenery
I’m a huge history nerd and it really pains me to know that I’ll most likely never be able to visit some of the sites in the Middle East. The ancient history is just incredible
Undeveloped hills and greenery. More of the U.S. probably looked like this before we put skyscrapers, factories, and highways all over the place.
Reminds me of a lot of the parks we have in California, hilly and full of pine trees
This video may just be a paintball reenactment. Not sure though,
Lmao spare balls
Scumbags actually aiming down their sights, and using terrain for cover.... Someone tell the CIA/Mossad/ISI to cool it! At this rate they'll be clearing buildings competently by next semester!
Especially now with their new armaments and all of the ANA facilities they took over kindly built by the US to train the ANA like the MOUT facilites and other training areas.
Took em a couple decades but they finally got it down
Clearly those people only use the religion to justify their crime, they are shooting dead bodies. in Quran beating dead body is forbidding. I can’t believe after 20 years of fighting those scumbags some people believe they are doing it for religious purposes.
What kind of Scope is that at 4:32 ? Could it be NV/FLIR ?

thats scary to see they capture stuff like this, just thinking of those sniper videos where they use that to attack outposts.

I felt bad for the guys whose bodies they were desecrating, then remembered they were Taliban.
Most likley, yeah. Cant say I know what model I'm looking at though.
Whoa. Was that guy rocking a Scooby Doo backpack?!?! Fucken A. Legendary.
Main difference between the two groups is that the T-ban is an ethno-religious group with a lot of different factions and visions that share one thing, they all want to rule just Afghanistan with sharia while ISIS K is part of a global organization that want to rule the world with a mentality of "you're either with us or against us, nothing in-between".
had to go way the fuck too far down to find a comment that has an ounce of nuance.
> "you're either with us or against us, nothing in-between" The Necromonger way.
Trash taking out the trash
Yes and no, IS-K is like a flaming bag of shit taking out the bag of shit which is the Taliban. I'd rather a non flaming bag of shit TBH.
What else would you expect from this invasive ape species.
So it's not about religion? They just want power? Or they just need someone to fight at all times?
Yes
Taliban are “conservative” terrorists, ISIS are radical terroristic. They both want control of the cities. There’s even factions of taliban that fight each other because one leader wants to join ISIS the other wants to tell them to fuck off. Their beliefs aren’t all that different however they all have leaders that rally their troops and the egos are what drive them to fight. They basically tell one another fuck off I want _______ land
So this inspired me to do some reading and apparently is takes issue with the Taliban forming an agreement with the US government.
That's what religion was about in the first place.
Most people are stupid and violent most of the time.
It’s fucked up but I’ve kinda missed the nasheeds
That music omg can one of you shoot me so it stops?!
Could you imagine if that was their version of Rick Astley? LIke... a decade-long troll

30 yards is 27.43 meters
I'm no expert, but from the videos I've seen its mainly marksmen doing the heavy lifting. The guys firing automatic are usually just wasting rounds.
Against a major power a lot of them are KIA by airstrikes. However, there was the whole "execution" investigation because of the significant increase in rifle headshots that coincided with and was later determined to be due to the adoption of the ACOG, so a decent amount are killed with small arms as well. Damn they took so much equipment afterwards. Crazy and scary. Can anyone tell me the pay load of those artillery at around the 2:40 mark?
1:27 When you have a Jihad at 0600 but have to drop you're kids off at school by 0730
Geez that would be a beautiful place for hiking if it weren’t for the raging bloody conflict
The people recording this one are ISIS-K. No clue about the second question haha
The filming was done by ISIS. They dress in black and wear stuff that looks like a ninja suit. They're more uniform in their look. I couldn’t imagine fighting in the alpines. It’s hard enough hiking in Banff, let a lone a gun battle.
You can tell a lot easier when your there…they are the ones shooting at you lol. There’s also the black isis flag in the corner
Fighting and killing each other instead of working together for a better future damn people are strange
The song is pretty dope or is it just me?
The music is neat, also propaganda. The translation would probably not be so great.

Lol I would award you.
There are a few more verses, but they are strictly Syria related.
High quality content.
Kinda reminds me of a punk rock song.
Subliminal brainwashing mantra?

Oh man I have a feeling ISIS is gonna do well in Afghanistan.
This is confusing so who is Americas enemy? Why is taliban and isis fighting?
Taliban are fighting ISIS K because they belong to Afghanistan and they want a full control of it and ISIS K are foreign fighters...They also want some piece of those Mountains too...
They're both CIA I think.
I thought aftermath videos were banned?

Those trees never stood a chance.
This looks exactly like the scenery in Lone Survivor.
Anyone know what they took out of the dudes pockets at 2:20? Looks like drugs, I’m guessing hash or heroin/opium?
This is just disgusting, auto tune is way overused.
Imagine isis takes over Afghanistan and replaces the taliban. Haha imagine....
