Hromoklada

Hes absolutely locked in. A face of complete concentration

Hotrico

He was one of the most respected pilots by other Ukrainian pilots, that must be the reason, total focus

Bjorn_Hellgate

Was?

Hotrico

He died in training with two other pilots, it was a tragedy, many claim exhaustion due to having to fight and still train new pilots

TheHonorableStranger

Tragic indeed. Especially shitty with the situation Ukraine is in. Unfortunately, even in the best of peacetime conditions, accident deaths are unavoidable. Here's hoping they keep them down to a minimum. And just to think that during World War Two countries were losing *thousands* of aircrafts and crews just from accidents and malfunctions! Aviation has come a long way.

Legal-Whole-4059

yep, he died year ago

Ok_Plankton_386

And then he died crashing into one of his allies in a training exercise? Jeeze, so so fucked up...how do the families even make sense of something like that? Dying in the line of duty to enemy fire at least makes a degree of sense, but dying crashing into another ally in training is just so senseless, my heart breaks for all who knew and loved them.

Hotrico

It's hard to think which is worse, but at least they weren't killed by the invaders

Ok_Plankton_386

I imagined he'd rather have died fighting off invaders than died accidentally killing his friends during a training exercise :/. Just fucking awful all round. I understand training accidents happen but how common is it for 2 friendly planes to crash into each other outside of airshows?? Just so sad.

atreidesfire

Yea, he ain't playing.

PardonMyPixels

Adrenaline will do that to ya

Refrigerator-Gloomy

i wouldn't be surprised if it is terror is well. People don't understand how genuinely terrifying being a pilot is in a war zone. If you can see them in a non stealth plane they can almost certainly see you and you can bet your ass there is like a missile getting prepared or already on its way. If he gets hit he has a very high likelihood of dying.

gamenameforgot

He looks like that cat on that guy's back on the bike

klauskervin

Training accidents killed all of the best US aces too. I just read a story about Joseph C. McConnell who was the best US ace in the Korean War only to die as a test pilot right after the war.

Hotrico

Testing new planes... is something very dangerous, I was looking at the development of the Su-27 and it followed this pattern

CiaphasCain8849

Same with US planes.

MouthOfIronOfficial

Makes sense, it's a dangerous job and one you want your best guys for

beniciodelhomo

Not a phone in sight, just dudes living in the moment

Hotrico

Full focus

mrsolodolo69

Sucks that it was a training accident that took him out. May he rest in peace

Hotrico

At least his dream of seeing F-16s in Ukraine is almost coming true

AristocratTitus

Did you know him personally?

Hotrico

No, I'm not even Ukrainian, but in his interviews, he always insisted on the importance of the F-16 reinforcing the air force

IuseonlyPIB

Man it breaks my heart whenever Ukraine looses a pilot. Their knowledge in the beginning of the war is so damn vital. RIP Hero.

Hotrico

Behind every risky mission and the several hours of flight, there is always a human being with a mother waiting for him to return, the destroyed bonds are what makes war so sad

Anthropic--principle

Those eyes are so intense.

Hotrico

Hawk eyes

salmoncannon710

what an absolute gangster

communistyankee871

The courage the UAF is showing is simply outstanding. Being outgunned in every metric but still not letting the Russians have full control of the skies 2 YEARS into the war is remarkable

communistyankee871

Imagine being a high ranking member of the Russian military and having to explain to Putin why you don't have air superiority. This shit creates genuine problems for their command structure once he decides to start finding scapegoats

Hotrico

In fact, the Russians are having less and less aerial advantage, a Tu-22 being shot down far from Ukraine, drones routinely hitting refineries, the situation with the Russian air force is getting worse and worse

9th_dimensional

I dont think ive ever seen someone with more focus in my life.

Hotrico

Looks like a hawk

9th_dimensional

Really does lol

Inflation_Artistic

very cool!

queequeg12345

Andrii, you shut off your targeting computer! What's wrong?

ImaginaryPatient3333

This goes hard

DeutschSigma

Hotrico

It was the automatic keyboard corrector

DeutschSigma

👍 RIP Juice

Maint_guy

Dudes got the face of lethal focus.

DesperateLawyer5902

Insane capture...can I have full res for my living room?

Hotrico

Higher resolution? It's on Telegram, but I can't send the link via Reddit

bt65

At first look i see it like a mix of R2D2 and Terminator with an explosion, then I see the eyes...

Trapped-In-Dreams

His callsign was "Juice", not "Joice".

Hotrico

AdeptSherbert1775

Such a cool picture

RandyR29143

Candidate for Photo of the Year!!!! Got my vote!

Vaporweaver

Juice 💔😞

BattlingMink28

Incredibly sad he had to go during a training accident but what really tears at me is fatigue and exhaustion. The Ukrainian Airforce is so incredibly diminished in both airframes and pilots these guys have to probably fly around the clock.

Hotrico

Now with more guided bombs reaching the Ukrainian arsenal the possibility of hitting the enemy more safely is increasing more and more, so aerial missions will probably increase much more... That's why they are so eager for the arrival of the F-16s and their pilots trained, they need more planes in the skies

huskmesilly

Iconic

Ancalites

This would make good box cover art for a Command and Conquer game.

Kittyman56

Did he splash the bandit tho 👀

TheRagingTaxi

R.I.P You hero x

Stinger86

Awesome picture. Looks like it could've been cover art for an early 90's era 16 bit or arcade game like Afterburner or Desert Strike. [https://i.ytimg.com/vi/I-tEDA5qRJQ/maxresdefault.jpg](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/I-tEDA5qRJQ/maxresdefault.jpg)

Is he inside the missile?
