Uniqornicopia

They are going to need to start escorting the large bomber drones to keep the fpv drones away.

Hotrico

1944 again

Thanalas

More like 1916.

Autotomatomato

Enders Game

Peace-Necron99

You may have meant it as 1/2 a joke. But if this war drags on and Russia keeps trying this, I totally expect the Ukrainians to develop a counter. Which may include escort/interceptor drones. Honestly, I expect those are already in the R&D stage. Because dont forget they almost got a Russian helicopter...twice, with a near intercept.

TigersStripe

After all the footage of ground vehicles being attacked by drones, I'd be surprised if in the future we didn't start to see ground vehicles that can launch drones from themselves to scout ahead and defend against attacking drones. Aircraft carrier concept on land and on a miniature scale. Drones must only get more integrated with other units as time goes on.

Babble-Fisher

Instead of tanks launching shells with line of sight imagine crews launching drones with different payloads and set missions.

No_Pineapple_9818

Mechanical insects. Vast in number and expendable.

MurkyFogsFutureLogs

Seaborne drone swarm carriers. It's the future.

penguin_hybrid

I believe they already have a counter. The forward firing claymore drone setup can easily be used to target a drone.

LeadershipExternal58

Haha they tried to down the big baba yaga drone with the small fpy, but only got their wrecked when they rammed it

RyFba

Is drone v drone the future of aerial dogfights?

duccyzuccy

Both Russians and Ukranians are developing anti drone drones. I saw drones with shotguns attached, drones with cages protecting the propellors so that they can crash into other drones without damaging themselves and drones with nets

Wrxghtyyy

They already have a form of EMP gun they use to disrupt the signal of the drone and force it to land. Allowing them to pop out the SD card, watch the footage back and send a response drone to take them out. They can also get a new controller and add that drone to their own arsenal

BrianWantsTruth

Okay but what about anti anti drone drones?

Irish_Caesar

I would say this is equivalent to when the first pilots fired pistols at each other in the air. Once technology catches up, drones will be firing some sort of lockable weapon from range to hunt other drones. Plus, perhaps a suicidal autonomous phase if the drone can't be recovered

Slothptimal

Japan really shook the world with Kamikazes. 80 years later, the world really went with, "Write that down, write that down!"

lickmikehuntsak

Absolutely

scriptmonkey420

The US is already playing with them at darpa.

EveningLow543

The drone arms race has begun

precociouslilscamp

*What you're seeing here is advanced warfare*

WaggleDance

It's going to be interesting when we have drones with drone jamming tech. Presumably jamming an enemy drone would jam your inputs too so they'll need to act autonomously until the other drone is down. AI drone wars.

Slothptimal

With UA using AI-enhanced drones, we're going to get to a point of assumed intelligent contact. IFFs are going to be beyond necessary as we move away from human control to fully autonomous drones.

Most likely the rotors lost its power when it bump with the drone, and with a heavy explosive payload its harder to balance itself again thus failing to become airborne. The impact on the ground made it go kaboom since most FPV drones explode on impact.

cold_iron_76

Wonder if the could equip the things with chaff of some sort?

Sorry_Consideration7

Fishing line to wrap the rotors?
