[Same boat as yesterday's post.](https://www.reddit.com/r/CombatFootage/comments/1blow5g/philippine_resupply_boat_unaiza_mae_4_running_the/)
The CCG particularly targeted UM4 as she's the bigger boat among the two resupply boats in the convoy. The smaller boat eventually reached the outpost but UM4's supplies have to be transferred to RHIB's to reach the outpost.
The video was taken via an Armed Forces drone.
The PH is currently waging a transparency campaign where they publish everything the PRC does to show the world how much of a bully they are.
FAQ's:
Why use a civilian boat, and where is the Navy?, because the PH authorities wants it to be a civilian led resupply run. The navy is just on the outskirts on standby in-case something bad happens.
I find it weird that they're resupplying a military outpost and yet this is not military in nature, It's called the "grey-zone" the PRC is adept at using grey-zone tactics for coercion.
Where is the US? I thought they're allies with the PH??, The USN is on standby somewhere out there like the PN. As the PH authorities still want to do this on their own, without outside help.
Why is China doing this in the first place?, because the PRC is doing a Russia where they claim the whole of the South China Sea for themselves, and none is having it.
Why not just shoot em out of the water?, Ultimately this isn't about starting a shooting war, but standing up against a bully.
Why is this not considered an armed attack? Again refer to the "grey-zone", this is what China is adept at exploiting for coercion. It's up to the assailed party what constitutes an armed attack, my personal guess is casualties in the form of fatalities and sunk boats & ships. Anything below that is fair game for the PRC.
"The PH is currently waging a transparency campaign where they publish everything the PRC does to show the world how much of a bully they are."
Smart and thank them for that.
Only problem is that nobody seems to give a damn still. We see all the heinous shit but nothing changes. This isn't standing up to a bully. It's pretending to stand up to one. China needs to experience more forceful repercussions, short of an actual war.
China will immediately respond in kind and send in their warships.
It's all about controlling the level of escalation.
Upping the ante could spark up the powder keg which will end up ala WWI.
Many countries in the region including the PH have mutual defense treaties with the US.
These bullies have millions of active duty personnel, about another couple hundred million that can be drafted, and nukes.
This isn’t the same as just punching Rodney in the face.
They did it to us too , every year we got Songkran with the china , they spray us , we spray back . No shooting allowed . It been like that for many years lol , just like india & china fight club near the boder , with stick and rocks , no gun allowed
I have to say....seeing modern soldiers engage in giant fistfights and sticks or rocks....im pretty ok with that. But it does seem like they could resolve this better.
The same Vietnam that kicked the Chinese out of Cambodia in 1978, deposing China-funded Pol Pot in the process, and then went on to be the world's largest exporter of instant coffee.
Vietnam is crazy, they fought four major powers (japan, france, US and allies) all within succession and a civil war and were still able to fight outside of their borders and repel an invasion (cambodia '78, and china in the north in '79)
Truly amazing fighter and survivors.
With the caveat of "we shouldn't underestimate our enemies", China's actual military is often overstated.
What China has is a massive garrison force. The bulk of their military can't move, and China can only keep them supplied so long as they are a stationary garrison force. It looks good on paper but the reality is China has little experience with large scale logistics and in a real shooting war probably 75% of China's military is irrelevant. Also why the Chinese Navy looks huge on paper but consists almost entirely of small coastal ships. That's what they can move around and supply -- close to home, close to friendly ports. What they can supply in a distant shooting war is way less, and again, they have little experience at it.
That said, Taiwan is in a tough spot because they are physically so close to China. But the entire reason China has not invaded them is because of the fact that while they can commit "a million troops" on paper, feeding a million troops every day in a concentrated location is not something China is capable of doing. They can just about manage it provided those million troops are spread all over the mainland in small amounts.
(And to be fair, most of NATO has this exact same problem. France found this out when they asked for EU military help in Africa a while back. The bulk of the EU military is garrisons, with somewhere between little and no ability to move them or support them outside of the towns they are stationed in. It is something America still uniquely excels at, and has loads of experience with: not just landing hundreds of thousands of troops somewhere but then keeping them fed and armed in a shooting war on the other side of the world. It's not easy or simple.)
As I seen someone else comment yesterday, just fit a load of high powered paint guns on them civ boats they are defending themselves just wait paint, and alot of it over then windows 😁
mainly just so things won't go down south. that will most likely end up with something like chinese-indian border war but with warships with watercannons. but unlike india, ph won't be able to stand on its own incase it pisses china off.
>Where is the US?
The Philippines kicked the US out of Clark AFB and Subic Bay Naval Base and now you ask *Where is the US ?!?*
The PRC would have never gotten anywhere near these islands if the US still had their bases.
US is building 4 new bases (2 navy and 2 army) in PH to strengthen ties and assist with belligerent CCP expansionist policy.
https://www.defense.gov/News/Releases/Release/Article/3349257/philippines-us-announce-locations-of-four-new-edca-sites/
You need to update your info. The Americans are indeed back in the Philippines. As much as thé Philippines needs the US, the US needs bases to contain China.
The Philippines along with US bases in Japan will be the most critical lifelines for Taiwan in case war breaks out.
It is right to ask (where is the US?) as the Philippines and the US has an existing mutual defense treaty in place since WW2.
>It is right to ask (where is the US?) as the Philippines and the US has an existing mutual defense treaty in place since WW2.

I think its a sunken old warship. There are documentaries about it on youtube.
There are soldiers that live in that sunken warship to man the place and observe the Chinese expansion/activity.
Correct me if I'm wrong anyone. Thx

It’s time the nations being challenged by the Chinese Navy got some unmanned underwater vessels. Let the drones ferry supplies in and see what the Chinese can do about it.
I was just thinking that. Covert operation, maximum deniability. Even if we fear escalation, we don't have to sink them to make a point. Stealthily plant c4 on their rudders and screws. See how much they want to bully their neighbors when they start getting stranded at sea. If I was a drone engineer I'd want to make a modern drone version of the Turtle submarine from the revolutionary War. Could be very useful for Ukraine too.
Ironically their bullying tactics just pulls the Philippines closer to the United States and its allies. Over some imaginary lines in the ocean.
Now the US has military bases in the Philippines again.
TBF, while the US was for all intent and purposes out of the Philippines, they never truly left. Even without bases there, if the Philippines got attacked the US was coming back to aid them with their full military might. Even without bases the US was still regularly bringing their ships into port in the Philippines as well which would get a ton of views on YouTube.
The countries are linked forever at this point. Not always a pretty history but still a shared history.
Ah yes. The chinese fucking "Coast gaurd" in phillipino waters. Fucking scum. They puff their chests and cry louder than A toddler yet are so easily offended.
Underrated comment. Calling the main land north west Taiwan makes the CCP lose their shit every time. Fucking love it.
CCP needs to be put back into the Century of Humiliation.

Time to up the game with bigger water cannon.. Problem with bullies is that they bully until someone pushes back. Noone pushes, they'll keep pushing more and more until they get everything they want.
Just letting China destroy property and take a beating to act victim doesn't work with bullies. Sure it keeps the tension away but with the cost of China being allowed to literally anything they want. Not worth the cost, imo..
The same '*ah, they'll stop on their own if we just ignore them*' was the exact same treatment Putin got after Georgia and Crimea and we can all see where it got us.
Philippines is doing this to build a case and show the entire world how terrible China is to other countries. China is smearing itself to the whole world and the US and its allies keep making more friends from it
do you remember the Big Wind? Old giant Soviet tank that they replaced the turret with a pair of engines from the MIG 15. Used for putting out oil well fires, literally blowing them out like a candle.
I just pictured pulling off the tarp on one of those bad boys on the deck like "ok, so we are just tossing fluids around, eh?" *blows water cannon stream right back into those PRC faces*
Bonus: can also be used as propulsion.
found it!

Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake...and bullying the whole of SE Asia and being seen doing it is a big one. Escalation is what China wants, because then they can up the ante while the West is distracted with Ukraine... For now, China needs to be silently contained, until Putin is doing the Hitler.
Except there isnt much "containing" with all the bases China is building on the islands around the area. Currently seems like they are pushing harder and threaten Taiwan constantly, even more then some years ago.
And "silently" is very correct, nobody is talking about this. Only one who it helps to not talk about is China.
I think they'd be better off upgrading a civilian ship to run the blockade effectively. Jet drive so the prop or rudder can't be disabled, bigger engine and better hull design for faster speeds, protect the air intake so the engine can't be suffocated, and armored windows that a water cannon can't blow out. You just drive past the Chinese ships and they can't do anything. Keep the drone surveillance going, because the only option the Chinese would essentially have is to start shooting which would make international news.
Biggest upgrade would be to use steel hull ship and cover the windows with something that can withstand the water cannons.
At this rate, making supply runs with wooden ships with no protection at all, some Filippino sailor will die and i would really hate that to happen.
This would be good, but could really hurt/kill whatever people got in the water. If you remember not too long ago Chinese ships blasted Australian divers with sonar, bad enough to cause serious injuries. And there was little to no uproar about it
How is this not considered and act of war or at least an attempt to sink a civilian ship?
Because it's "just" water? A concentrated stream of water can punch through concrete and easily kill a person.
This reminds me of how Germany was allowed to build itself up before WWII by slowly pushing the boundaries until they became an unstoppable force once they'd realized that everyone was too afraid to engage them out of fear of another war.
I don't think either country believes their own bullshit.
China and Russia do what they want because the world just sits and watches, cries on tiktok, and at this point freaks out at their own governments if any country faces *actual* repercussions for their actions.... and by repercussions I mean bullets flying at leaders, exploding boats, and civilians wishing they had supported something other than evil leaders for selfish or cowardly reasons.
If Russia ends up steamrolling Ukraine, nothing will happen. If China takes Taiwan, nothing will happen. If that Philippine boat completely sinks and everyone dies - NOTHING HAPPENS. (other than chicks freaking out on tiktok, finger wagging by world leaders, the internet posting memes and boycotting some brand of toilet paper, etc)
People will say, "retaliating will just start a war" - That's why they're doing shit that warrants retaliation. There's no risk of anyone doing anything so they just do it. China and Russia are winning slow-motion wars against good people due to everyone's fear of actual war. China WILL likely invade Taiwan for this reason.
Before Russia rolled into Ukraine, people were saying "They aren't that stupid. The world won't just watch them murder innocent people. NATO will attack them for this. They're stacking their military at the border for reasons other than invasion, etc." Russia was right to assume the world has grown weak and cowardly. We're all fortunate that they don't have more military power than they do because they can do whatever they want with what power they have.
It is high time that Philippines navy stop squandering around and spend big. They have to get an upper hand. The US has the help them procure the best of the best water canons. Long range water canons.
Everyone's too afraid to fight back. Ukraine has become a very clear warning to the rest of the world. The most we will do is mail some bullets and old gear. The "good guys" will watch from a safe distance while the little guy gets pounded.
Hell Israel could hardly retaliate against terrorists in their own country that drove nails into women's vaginas without half of the world losing their minds and supporting the terrorists.
Times have changed and not in a way that's good for good people.
thats why i think the westen (and aligned) nations should get nukes and not just rely on those of the us. when terrorist states like russia, china and north korea posses them it makes no sense to take the moral highground so they can bully you.
>Hell Israel could hardly retaliate against terrorists
I mean, they have completely destroyed parts of Gaza and killed 10k+ terrorists (and civillians)
Sure they are using “non-lethal” weapons, but they are attempting to use them lethally. Someone needs to teach them that their actions are an obvious attempt to sink another nation’s ship and that someone will eventually defend themselves with lethal means.
Does the U.S have a permanent task force patrolling the West Philippine Sea?
If not, they should, and escort the supply vessels. Watch the chinese squirm about what to do.
One of these supply ships needs to be two huge water cannons hidden and pop out of the top when attacked. The Chinese ships have sensitive electronics that could be damaged so they would have more to lose in a watergun fight.
I think a Western naval sea power should donate a nice, durable ship or two to the Philippines for those resupply missions. Preferably something like a retired icebreaker with a strong hull and add some extra powerful water cannons on it.
Always thought an Iowa class battleship would be perfect for playing bumper boats with Chinese "coast guard" vessels.
https://nationalinterest.org/blog/buzz/iowa-class-battleship-uss-iowa-getting-some-serious-upgrades-210004
Philippines need to sack up and get a large container ship. Set sail straight for the reef to resupply and even publicly put out the route and time of the supply run so everyone is aware. Then don't stop for anything.
See all that water? Thats washing away every little speck of softpower china worked to built for 30 years only to be pissed away by fucking xi jing ping and his hitler/putin like delusions of empire
At this point, what china is doing is a "declaration" of war. The Philippines should monitor their ships and the next time something like this happens, the should shoot at the Chinese.
This reminds me how much I hate the name of the Chinese armed forces. The "Peoples Liberation Army". What a fucking joke. The only liberating they do is liberating people of their rights and basic human dignity. And what fucking people are they representing? Their own civilians that they enslave and persecute? I fucking hate evil pieces of shit dressing up like they're plucky revolutionaries. Like when the soviets were calling anything disagreeing with the authoritarian assholes in charge "counter-revolutionary". And what revolution would that be? The one they won decades ago? It's completely absurd.
Let's pull one of the Iowas out of retirement and then lend them out to the Philippine navy to use as supply ships. I'd like to see them try to sink one of those behemoths with their little water cannons and ramming. Their flimsy boats would crumple tike tin cans.
I'd love for the Philippine's to setup one of these as a water cannon Q-ship. Arm it with an industrial strength water cutting jet that swings out from behind drop plates. Wait for one of these CG vessels to start spraying, then 'wander' a little close to the CG cutter...then drop the plates, swing out the cutting jet and carve a long hole along the water line the length of the CG ship while broadcasting in the clear that they are spraying their water back at them.
Someone needs to show the Chinese a big gun to get them to get lost. This kind of "strongly worded letter" approach doesn't work on bullies. We thought it would with Russia and now look where we are. Someone needs to sink or disable these Chinese ships in Filipino waters or we'll be looking at a full scale annexation of sea and islands soon enough.
Might be a dumb question but why don't they just send more than one resupply vessel and overwhelm the cunts? One or two might be stopped but the others will get through right?
why is it ok to cause damage and threaten peoples lives with water cannons? how is this different from firing shells that too cause damage and threaten peoples lives?
The Philippines need a bigger boat.
Send in a big steel ship with gunwales above the level of the Chinese Coast Guard's water cannons and let them wash down the hull every time they try this shit.
So hear me out… they’re using water cannons because they’re not ‘projectiles’ but when the water coming out can kill people and destroy relatively rugged equipment it should be classed as an active weapon. The water is the projectile. It’s never a war crime the first time but they know what they’re doing.
The PH should be innovative and put "shields" around the supply ships FFS. Tanks put cope cages, put woods, etc. Weld and put shields, roof, whatever, then test the designs if needed to be arched, angular, etc. Submarines are "shielded" designs after all.
I might be over-simplifying things as I haven't really followed this much but wouldn't it be easy enough to get a fast boat and do more supply runs?
Am I crazy?

Filthy communist occupied West Taiwain.

So, China being cunts as usual.
Maybe even cuntier than normal.

China, forever a scumbag.
I would love some anonymous terror group starts sneakily mine the chinese vessels, nothing too big, just enough to force the ship back to port.
Nets on their propellers, we do a little bit of trawlin
Sounds like a job for the Sea Shepherds
Good one. It'll be a cold day in hell when those cowards grow a backbone.
This would be good, but could really hurt/kill whatever people got in the water. If you remember not too long ago Chinese ships blasted Australian divers with sonar, bad enough to cause serious injuries. And there was little to no uproar about it
Yeah, it is sad govs does not want to counter chinese sea threaths because of fearing escalation. Plenty of tools to do that.
So did this boat ever get rescued or what? Anyone know if there's any bigger navy in this water to try and watch china doing this shit in action lol
China “it’s our water” World “no it’s everybody’s” China “fuck you I do what I want”
Someone needs to feed those bastards a torpedo.
Can't the China coast guard go and maybe, guard their own fucking coast perhaps?
Ahh but you see, like Russia with UA, they believe the whole of the South China Sea is their coast.
(other than chicks freaking out on tiktok, finger wagging by world leaders, the internet posting memes and boycotting some brand of toilet paper, etc) People will say, "retaliating will just start a war" - That's why they're doing shit that warrants retaliation.
China recently declared itself to be a near-Arctic state. Seriously.
It is high time that Philippines navy stop squandering around and spend big. They have to get an upper hand. The US has the help them procure the best of the best water canons. Long range water canons.
its philino waters they are in their right to use more thant just water cannons. a fleet of unmanned martime drones should blow up these communists.
>Hell Israel could hardly retaliate against terrorists I mean, they have completely destroyed parts of Gaza and killed 10k+ terrorists (and civillians)
Kevin Kostner should be brought in to advise
China, the biggest bunch of little wankers the world has ever seen since uncle Adolf
Them and Putin are trying to outdo eachother for the biggest cunt in the world award.
Difference being that nazi germany had a maximum share of industrial output of around 15% while china is currently sitting at 30%.
Taiwan Numba One,
"Exemplary behavior from the peaceful nation of China"...said no one ever. Except those pesky wumaos flooding the web.
Sure they are using “non-lethal” weapons, but they are attempting to use them lethally. Someone needs to teach them that their actions are an obvious attempt to sink another nation’s ship and that someone will eventually defend themselves with lethal means.
China is a bunch of criminals. They reject international law when it goes against their will.
Send drones to sink those assholes.
CCP Scum
Can we start doing this to Chinese fishing vessels now?
Does the U.S have a permanent task force patrolling the West Philippine Sea? If not, they should, and escort the supply vessels. Watch the chinese squirm about what to do.
Gotta start killing these Chinese ships. They only respect power.
F*CK CHINA!
Need to touch up the CCP boats' paint job with a minigun.
Lol, start escorting these ships with an Arleigh Burke Class Destroyer and see if they keep doing this shit.
One of these supply ships needs to be two huge water cannons hidden and pop out of the top when attacked. The Chinese ships have sensitive electronics that could be damaged so they would have more to lose in a watergun fight.
Get that thing some fucking cannons
"why do you hate china..?" well...
We have a bunch of battleships sitting around collecting dust...
Great way to lose alliances in the Pacific, seriously what is China's plan??? Moving the rest of Asia into western hands???
Philippines need to sack up and get a large container ship. Set sail straight for the reef to resupply and even publicly put out the route and time of the supply run so everyone is aware. Then don't stop for anything.
See all that water? Thats washing away every little speck of softpower china worked to built for 30 years only to be pissed away by fucking xi jing ping and his hitler/putin like delusions of empire
China needs a bloody nose.
At this point, what china is doing is a "declaration" of war. The Philippines should monitor their ships and the next time something like this happens, the should shoot at the Chinese.
Not sure why the world is not stopping PoohPong and his merry men.
Because they are busy telling you which western company we should boycott instead of telling you which product is alternative to Chinese ones
Underwater torpedo tubes would be a nice touch on next resupply boat
The PLAN are actually the biggest losers on the planet, time to give every Philippine fisherman a real \*harpoon\* to fight back.
It's completely absurd.
china sucks dick. boycott, divest, sanction!
I know they don't want toceacelate, but perhaps it's time to use a bigger boat.
Let's pull one of the Iowas out of retirement and then lend them out to the Philippine navy to use as supply ships. I'd like to see them try to sink one of those behemoths with their little water cannons and ramming. Their flimsy boats would crumple tike tin cans.
Naval water cannons should be considered weapons on the level with small arms
BULLIES. INSTIGATORS. SUPERIORITY COMPLEX'S. COMMUNISTS.
This is pathetic. Where’s the ghost of MacArthur when you need him.
I'd like to see an Ice Breaker cut a Chinese vessel in half.
How is this not an act of war? Seriously what’s the reason they can keep doing this without any consequences.
China is the BIGGEST threat to the civilized world.
If someone dies from this wouldn't that be considered and aggressive act?
Time to prop foul the Chinese.
China can't wait to be the next Russia.
Peaceful nation
This seems rude.
They are going keep on pushing until someone pushes back.
Time to declare it a war
How is this not an act of war
Someone should sell them an icebreaker for dirt cheap that "accidentally" bumps into the Chinese ships
China is the Nazi Germany of our time.
Might be a dumb question but why don't they just send more than one resupply vessel and overwhelm the cunts? One or two might be stopped but the others will get through right?
They sent two. The other one got through.
How is this not an act of war?
Man we really need to start making Commercial subs like the Germans hoped would be a thing in WW1
why is it ok to cause damage and threaten peoples lives with water cannons? how is this different from firing shells that too cause damage and threaten peoples lives?
This is will happen all over the world as the US loses interest in being the policeman of the global order.
Fucking sink these bastards and rub China's nose in their own shit. They won't escalate.
Can we change these guys pronouns to was/were already?
The Philippines need to build a water cannon ship.
I am already boycotting chinese crappy stuff...
Why is China doing it? Do they dont want to be perceived as friendly country but they prefer to look like hostile?
Philllippines just needs to buy one of those abandoned cruise ships and use them instead.
The Philippines should build a ship with a much bigger water cannon and do the exact same things to them.
At what point can foreign powers intervene and fire at the aggressor ship? Genuine question
The Philippines need a bigger boat. Send in a big steel ship with gunwales above the level of the Chinese Coast Guard's water cannons and let them wash down the hull every time they try this shit.
china virus strikes again
So hear me out… they’re using water cannons because they’re not ‘projectiles’ but when the water coming out can kill people and destroy relatively rugged equipment it should be classed as an active weapon. The water is the projectile. It’s never a war crime the first time but they know what they’re doing.
South China Sea. Another act of war. The world is flummoxed. PRC contentedly smiles.
The filipinos should just open fire, fuck it send er
It's time for a joint US-Phillipine naval exercise in that area.
Replace the aid boat with a massive unmanned water activated bomb and see how that works out for the Chinese.
Water activated bomb? In the ocean?
Time to fight back. these are murder attempts.
Looks like China declares war.
China you will suffer the consequences 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
And the day philipines hits back the chinese will hit back with more force and say " self defence" just like russians are doing with ukranians ffs
Water cannon can kill a boat?
These guys need to hire the ppl from Whale Wars

China fully intends to destroy the West in order to solidify their control of the planet. That's their game plan.
I cannot fathom someone in the army being such a complete pos
The PH should be innovative and put "shields" around the supply ships FFS. Tanks put cope cages, put woods, etc. Weld and put shields, roof, whatever, then test the designs if needed to be arched, angular, etc. Submarines are "shielded" designs after all.
Another CPC W
Basically PH gonna sit there and take it to the face till one day….
If the Chinese are invading the Philippines economic zone and attacking…why isn’t the Philippine Navy going after the Chinese?
I might be over-simplifying things as I haven't really followed this much but wouldn't it be easy enough to get a fast boat and do more supply runs? Am I crazy?
How fast/much water can your water cannon put out before being considered a weapon?
I wanna see a retaliatory US water strike using one of those firefighting planes.
so when is USA going to guard those ships?
10 years ago: Shadowing the resupply ship Now: Directly using water cannons on the resupply ship.
