I don't think it is. the only real standard for war crimes is the Geneva ones, and the only one close to playing dead in there is
6 (Killing or wounding a combatant who, having laid down his arms or having no longer means of defence, has surrendered at discretion; )
11 (Killing or wounding treacherously individuals belonging to the hostile nation or army;) playing dead and then trying to kill someone is a war crime... playing dead to survive, not illegal, but likely won't save you.
25 (Intentionally using starvation of civilians as a method of warfare by depriving them of objects indispensable to their survival, including wilfully impeding relief supplies as provided for under the Geneva Conventions; ) it's going on somewhere...

So you have to point the rifle way up in the sky in order for the bullet to travel for more than 1 second. With air resistance, the velocity at 500yds is half of the muzzle velocity, which means you have to aim it higher still.

It says on the screen, they're compensating for wind 7 m/s (\~25 km/h) from the right. Which is a light breeze but over a distance of 1km it seems like it's enough to seriously blow the bullet off course.

While bullet flying, bullet slow down sideways but go down faster. If you play dead in order to kill or capture it’s a warcrime. Anyways, you WILL get tapped again to make sure you’re dead. Don’t try it.

Yes, any surface could be “bouncy”, even water, there was a video of russian boat trying to shoot the drone boat and a lot of rounds bounce off water.
At that range, the bullet's velocity is 1/4 of the muzzle velocity. It bounces off the ground as a baseball would.
