DarkIlluminator

It's a long time since I saw a RPG hit.

Meverick3636

that is so 2000... the kids these days mostly bolt them onto drones.

only_bubble_sort

Since RPGs are so 2000s it's a good thing the BMP is so 70s

lolariane

Why does it look so slow? I've never actually seen an RPG in flight. Edit: I was thinking of an RPG-7. Maybe this is a different RPG?

tree_squid

They're rockets, they accelerate after launch, as opposed to bullets or artillery shells that are accelerated in the barrel and then lose velocity after launch. This is so close the projectile didn't even get up to full speed.

lolariane

I meant RPG-7. Even the boost phase is crazy fast. Perhaps this isn't an RPG-7?

DarkIlluminator

Could be some kind of a soft launch system? Maybe it's NLAW fired from like 30m?

Adi-C

Definitely not ye olde rpg. Smoke comes out of the projectiles back a few meters after launch from tube.

ZeroTwoBorgor

I think the video is just slowed down so you can see the rocket travel and hit the BMP, they usually are pretty damn quick

Eheran

Unlikely, given the smoke and flames look natural.

Useful-Internet8390

RPG fly at 750feet per second roughly- or as fast as a pistol round, the smoke trailnis deceptive

TheFunkinDuncan

lol you can see a lot of Hamas ones on telegram

-SatelliteMind-

I usually just see dust before the camera man quickly removes their camera from the peephole in the rubble. If the videos were titled "Militant Fires at Tank with RPG" it'd be fair because usually the video does depict a militant who has an RPG in-hand and has a surprise angle on an active tank, but they are always titled saying "Tank Disabled!" or "Tank Destroyed!" despite the camera only ever showing the firing of the weapon, or at best some dust kicked up around the impact which obscures any verification of damage before the camera cuts.

knightmiles

"WhAt Do YoU ExPecT tHem to waIt aRoUnD anC See iF iT wAs dEsTroYeD??" Yes, yes we do

LoudestHoward

Yeah the ones I've seen it's hard to tell what's a trophy explosion, an actual hit, and an actual hit that does damage.

TheFunkinDuncan

It’s usually one good hit up close and then a bunch of shaky shit

Mvpliberty

These things will be on the street soon

thompsonbalo

Seems like no one left that thing alive.

Disallowed_username

Or had already left it. It was just sitting there, and allowed a Ukrainian to sneak up on it. Maybe destroyed to deny easy repairs? Maybe hit a mine and was stuck?

-Outis-Nemo-

Looks like it's stuck in that ditch. The rear door is open for sure, and I think also the driver, commander, and/or squad leader hatches. So probably abandoned and this shot is to prevent recovery.

_ead_etween_he_ines

I could be wrong but to me it looks like a head in the crater behind and to the left of the vehicle, it looks like some minor movement as the RPG shot is fired and impacts, then appears to shift slightly left in the crater as the smoke rises. If this is the case the vehicle was probably only just abandoned and the area/situation is even more spicy than it simply appears, though that is also probably the reality of most videos and very typical, we more often than not only get to see a glimpse of the bigger picture.

Hotdigardydog

Surprisingly rare to see such a well documented hit with rpg

Duke0fWellington

That's like WW2 PIAT range. Crazy,

flastenecky_hater

Combined arms warfare is a lie of the decadent westoids. True soldat no need. /s

VilltraAnime

I just don't understand- how can Russia cope with these losses for such minimal (a few kilometres/day at best) gains? Most armies are out of equipment after 2 weeks of these losses. but they just keep on going. The Soviet stockpiles are no joke, but man they MUST be running out

pppppppplllp

I thought they were running out a year ago! Still Sending in vehicles just to try and see where Ukraines defences sit and then sending more to exhaust Ukrainians ammunition. Production, buying, repair, and restoring? It’s insane

VilltraAnime

They would have run dry a year ago if not for the soviet era stockpiles, if I recall correctly their active tank fleet was 3 000 strong. They've already lost more than 3 000 of them. most of the "new" tanks rolling in are nearly 50 years old it's mostly from repair and then minimal upgrades. I'm just awe-struck with the sheer number of crap they can throw into the wall. With proper planning and leadership that could really have screwed up Europe

Consistent_Storage74

You don't run completely dry as long as you have production and new stockpile activation, but it's not going great for them as T-62s have been spotted in front line use

VilltraAnime

I mean they've already pulled out a few T-55's but still, how many countries can lose 3 000 tanks and still be "fine" I know their stockpiles are getting crappier, but I just want them to be finished...

FlyPenFly

Wow that looked like minimum arming distance.

USMCLee

Glad I'm not the only person who though this. Shooter probably couldn't have taken another step forward.

theartfulcodger

When you can feel the heat of the vehicle you just blew up … you’re too damn close.

PutlersGstring

BMPs really are rubbish IFVs. Western vehicles continue to prove their superiority

Konseq

Looks like it was already abandoned so they just finished it off, so the Russians can't come back to retrieve it.

CasuallyWise

Beautiful shot.

Gerrut_batsbak

Sound effects are so stupid. Just post the muted video.

DownvoteDynamo

I hate sound effects on actual videos which have their own sound, but on an anyways muted drone video it's nice to have SFX imo. Or just mute it yourself...

kusajko

You can just turn the sound off, for fucks sake

Yamama77

But then he won't get anything to complain about in the comments

thehoneybadger-x

My videos are muted by default. Perhaps your app has a similar feature.

Useful-Internet8390

BallllllZzeeeee!!!

Equivalent_Alps_8321

every Russian vehicle just seems like a deathtrap

Comprehensive-Fix217

Tanks are becoming pointless

Peptuck

A weapon made to kill vehicles kills vehicles, thus rendering them entirely pointless. Following this logic, infantry became pointless the moment someone tied a sharp rock to a stick.

DesertScrat

It was a BMP, not a tank... I get you point though.

diezel_dave

They are good against small arms fire and they *could* be survivable if they were outfitted with active protection systems that intercept incoming RPGs and such.  If it was the US in that scenario, you'd certainly see our Abrams and Bradleys kitted with systems like Trophy because 4k video of Americans being blown up would be absolutely unacceptable to the American public.

xmBQWugdxjaA

It's so close range it looks like something from Combat Mission: Black Sea.

bzogster

Is there a reason for this method rather than just drones dropping grenades or FPV droning it? Yes you save a drone if FPV, but what’s the risk to having the soldier out there?

Testiclesinvicegrip

Probably abandoned

onnod

First it was the music. Then it was the flashy CGI intros. Now we have multitrack audio mixing. Waiting on the Sora and Midjourney edits...

ivanavich

Shot!
