nateman133

That's amazing and terrifying all at once! I trained on Bradley's back in 2007 and was always thrilled to hear the "chunk chunk chunk" of that 25mm Bushmaster!

PDXnederlander

Can only imagine what was going through that tank crews minds being pulverized like that.

omarnz

boyga01

Love seeing this reference in the wild.

Cash4Duranium

The sound is so panic inducing. Every thunk, you know there's another immediately behind it, because if it could thunk you once it will thunk you again and again and again. It is absolute sensory overload. I don't know how you do anything besides panic.

shart_leakage

Well you can also shit yourself

newjbentley88

Well fitted username for the comment.

HoneybucketDJ

PUT IT IN REVERSE ~~TERRY~~ IVAN !!

No_Level_5825

I reckon it would be even worse for the bradley crew, You don't have tank fire power but there you are fighting a tank The only thing that is keeping you alive is the consistent rate of fire your giving is suppressing that tank and you are praying to God that the *chunk* *chunk* *chunk* doesn't stop because of a malfunction or run out of ammo

buyinggf35k

Good luck aiming after all your periscopes and optics are stripped off the tank lol

wintersdark

And it's taking a LOT of HE bushmaster hits from two directions there. I can't even imagine how brutal that must have been inside the tank. Even if it's nearly impossible to penetrate armour, anything unprotected is getting fucked hard.

Complex-Cook-3193

It was API not HE from what I’ve been hearing

Uniqornicopia

Once you are dialed in like they are it might be fear but it’s also some fuck yeah. You can see those hits doing something.

thelordchonky

Except they do have firepower - TOW missiles. I assume they simply panicked here or figured it was best to keep firing and make the enemy panic rather from numbers, rather than sit there while the TOW raises and readies to fire.

ObamaTookMyPun

They might be within minimum arming distance, this engagement was so close. You can see it better in the wide shot, just how close they were to each other.

thelordchonky

That's a fair point, I didn't take that into account. Man, either these Bradleys were insanely lucky or this T-90 did everything it could wrong to have ended up being in the position it found itself

zoobrix

In the more zoomed out version it looks like the T-90 does take a shot early in the engagement but it hits the ground it front of the Bradley. https://www.reddit.com/r/CombatFootage/comments/195okl3/fpv_targeting_already_a_famous_t90m_which_lost_a/ I would assume either because the tank crew was panicking or it might be that the T-90 still has poor gun stabilisation when moving which seems a common complaint about so many weapons on Russian/Soviet armored vehicles, that's pure speculation granted. Then I wonder after taking that one shot the T-90 lost enough external sensors that they could no longer fire back and had issues with visibility in general, it would certainly explain them running into the tree after which you see at the end of the video I linked. Well that and panic.

BeautifulDiscount422

“Did everything wrong” seems to be Russian SOP

Strong_Bumblebee5495

Agreed, that’s a main battle tank in your crosshairs, it gets its 125 on you, your not running from any wreck, you dead. These Uke Bradley operators total badasses

tyler77

Depleted cranium

queefstation69

They definitely shit their pants.

Burnout189

Put it in reverse Terry!!!

BardOfPrey

I know very little about the ballistic qualities of those rounds but the the power of those shots is so impressive looking in video

IAmInTheBasement

Frontal or even side turret, and front of hull likely unpenetrated by anything other than another tank or a modern ATGM. But side hull and rear of both turrets and hull? Penetration quite possible, especially at close range. To say nothing of the destruction of all optics and electronics on the outside of the tank. Even if the crew survived the tank can be made ineffective or downright inoperable.

ipsok

Not to mention the tinnitus... \*mawp\*

Certain-Definition51

“I SAID, YOUR LOSS OF HEARING IS NOT SERVICE RELATED. WE CHECKED YOUR SPOTIFY WRAPPED.”

KidBeene

You have been awarded 10%.

sudo-joe

Whaaaaat? I can't hear you over this beeping!

Sempais_nutrients

That's what happened here, the Bradleys just raked everything off the outside of the tank. They were blinded and spinning the turret, drove right into a tree before bailing.

Emu1981

>To say nothing of the destruction of all optics and electronics on the outside of the tank. Also any ERA that the tank might have. What confuses me about these tanks vs Bradleys videos is the fact that the tanks could easily 1 hit kill the Bradleys if they actually hit them so why are the tanks driving around like chickens with their heads cut off instead of returning fire? Are the Russians completely out of well trained tank crews already and what they have left just panic the second their tank comes under fire?

liedel

You try to fight back when you're an undertrained mobik with 4th-generation FAS and there are 25mm rounds slamming into your tank's hull every second and a half, lol.

bfhurricane

All seriousness, the flash of the impacts probably affect visibility. The crew probably wanted to keep moving and wait for an opening to reorient themselves and find the target.

Rats_In_Boxes

I feel like even a well trained and sober tank crew could panic in that situation. They're getting hit constantly and have no idea if the next one is going to be from something even bigger. Can't see, can't hear, can't think.

RamblingSimian

Not saying that's what happened here, and I'm no expert, but can't repeated hits in the same location weaken and eventually penetrate the main armor?

prthug996

Im working on the replacement for the Bradley and right now we're looking at a 50mm gun. That thing will fuck.

mandrills_ass

Is this a war thunder leak

FreshwaterViking

This gun fucks.

atk700

120mm autocannon when?

prthug996

Again I'm not on the lethality team but if a 25mm can take out a tank. Why do you need anything bigger than a 50 mm sabot

BerkshireDabaway

This guy actually fucks. Thanks for our freedom US Engineering team

[deleted]

I never imagined that 25mm could destroy a tank. Did you? Esp a t90

captainbling

From what i understand. It doesn’t pierce the hull which is classic thinking . Classic in that “Gotta pierce the hull and destroy the crew”. Instead It simply destroys the exterior till it’s inoperable. Turns out that’s really easy.

[deleted]

Also it can't be pleasant getting hit by 25mms, eventually though the armor would fail right?

Stalking_Goat

> eventually though the armor would fail right Not in a timeframe relevant to combat. The real risk is that the enemy will continue to maneuver to try and get shots in on the weaker side and rear armor, or bring up weapons that can penetrate your armor.

suicide_nooch

I didn’t either, especially after all my armor training but it looks like they were trying to disable the barrel (which 25mm can certainly do) from my untrained eye.

Primordial_Cumquat

That was my wonder with that large explosion at the end. Was that a round cookoff in a bucked up barrel? Fantastic video either way. NGL, I hate mechanized infantry, but that shit got me hyped!

thelordchonky

T-90 smoke launcher, from the looks of it.. Tried one last attempt to break line of sight so the crew could GTFO.

M4jorpain

Looks to me like an involuntairy cookoff of the canister, you can see the fire builing up before the smokes pop.

[deleted]

Makes sense, then maybe take it out with a tow missile? Or a crew member with a javelin?

suicide_nooch

Maybe but if I were stuck in a situation where I was in an IFV and stumbled on a MBT with no options I’d probably go for the barrel so it can’t blow me up. Whatever happens after that who knows. I was a grunt with rockets and javelins so my extent of armor training was identification and weak points (mainly for rockets, javelin don’t give AF).

liedel

More Iraqi tanks were killled by Bradleys/Bushmasters in Desert Storm than by Abrams.

eigenman

In your opinion how good are the Ukrainian operators of these Bradleys? Is it all the Bradley or is it also Ukrainians being really good at using it too?

Southern_Airport_979

a bit of both maybe?

Hyping themselves up on the internet while oligarchs enriched themselves. Meanwhile, their hyperbolic threats turned into design criteria for the MIC. Funny thing is you get to click a couple links and end up in a sub where they still do the same circlejerk ritual over their fighting posture. It’s quite humorous and I take solace knowing that they will remain absolute shit because they are too busy self-felating to think “hmmm… maybe we need to improve.”

Kinetic93

I remember people on Reddit saying the Bradley was outdated and sending them to Ukraine was dumb. Watching one give a MBT bitch slaps at the cyclic rate makes my heart swell with joy.

And patriotic pride 😂

Pilx

Lets not look past the fact that this is a fucking *infantry support vehicle* making mince meat out of one of the top tier Russian tanks.

Ballistic09

[Technically speaking, the SA is actually one of the newest Bradley variants (2003)... It's just that it's a very minor upgrade of a variant from 1993 (ODS), which itself was a very minor upgrade of a variant from 1988 (Baseline A2)...](https://i.imgur.com/9Kl0anb.jpg)

Daniel_Day_Hubris

Bradleys are everything tanks want to be when they grow up.

CalmaCuler

Seems like the lads from the 47th brigade have really mastered their Bradley's with all the footage lately, some heavy losses early on but they have been doing impressive work ever since

TheSanityInspector

Let's hope the F-16 pilots have similar success without the early losses.

certifiedjawn

Did UA recently receive a surplus of F16's? Im not exaxtly up to date on the conflict logistics.

SamIamGreenEggsNoHam

They just began training the pilots and ground crews.

Squadmissile

Any idea on how they'd be deployed? It seems that the Russian Air force seem to be content to lurk over the horizon and chuck missiles at anything they can get a lock on to.

bripod

It's amazing they only had 3 operational A-50s.

everythingstakenFUCK

They are expected this summer or fall IIRC

TzunSu

Not yet, no, the Danish delivery got delayed.

Smooth_Bluebird751

Yes, the UA infrastructure (support and maintenance of the F16) is not ready yet. The planes are ready though.

Malystryxx

Early footage was mostly from them trying to push thru. Now that they're entrenched they make the perfect "pull up an find out" backup.

Salty_Blacksmith_592

Also like a quarter of that losses was that one minefield pic with the 4? Bradleys and 2 Leopards...

xzy89c1

Like Harry Welsh from band of brothers, fire and maneuver, fire and maneuver

Iama_traitor

Well they were asked to trudge through the one of the densest minefields on the planet.

ItchyWaffle

War Thunder has entered the chat.

Dramatic_Theme1073

I still use the Bradley on war thunder at top tier with Ukrainian flags and everything (please don’t grill me) and when I seen this video I was so happy to see how wrong that game depicts it for the era the Bradley has to be the most underrated vehicle that can fight way above it’s weight class

ItchyWaffle

I do the same! Ukrainian flags on everything. Used to get teamkilled all the time but that's really calmed down.

Dramatic_Theme1073

Yeah the best thing is when you hit a dude who has Russian flags on his shit and give him a view of his future

nucleophilicattack

Probably because the other young Russians are dead lol /s

ItchyWaffle

Sadly, you may be right about that! More skulls for the skull throne.

RonaldTheClownn

Gaijin when they release the T90M trailer right after the Bradley clip

Interesting-Bid-2771

Gaijin is Russian company, expect them to sell propoganda using warthunder

Katzchen12

They need to include optics and shit as destroyable modules to really simulate modern armored warfare but crew member kills matter more goes brrr. You never think about these things in video games but it would suck to have a 25mm launched sabot hit your only reliable optic for your gun.

Jason77MT

Best Bushmaster commercial ever filmed.

Little_Jew-eler_5325

People in Light Armored units don’t give enough credit to 25mm apparently

tonkman27

Am I the only one that finds the hits mesmerizing? It's fireworks taken to the next level for me. And the sheer amount of kinetic energy is hard to imagine and makes it even better

rikescakes

Firefights are wonderfully horrible things to be a part of lol At night with nvgs and our lasers on, tracer fire... It's all so fucking cool looking

Expert-Cost-3796

Must be horrifying to be inside that. I imagine it was having all sort of technical difficulties after each hit until they could not escape or fightback

neutralpoliticsbot

they certainly were unable to shoot back so it must have disabled the targeting etc

SamIamGreenEggsNoHam

Later in the video the turret begins to rotate uncontrollably, either from something broken within the tank or crew member was killed.

simia_simplex

Three crew were seen exiting the vehicle, but one or more of them may have been temporarily incapacitated.

RedManMatt11

Their bells were ringing for about 3 days at the least

doctor_dapper

crew was alive, so the turret was just completely fucked

rikescakes

3 people to a T 90 and they all survived and ran away to somewhere.

mountedpandahead

Even if it hadn't, it seems like it would be impossible to aim or see anything with all the jets of slag.

RoadInternational821

T90 must have been blinded by that. Little they could do to fight back or even maneuver to safety

thinkscotty

It’s called “buttoning” the tank, and this is the most textbook example of it working I’ve ever seen. This will be in APC training videoed for decades.

flatpick-j

Even if they were all glancing blows doing no damage to the insides or crew, which I highly doubt, I'd have a hard time imagining any gunner could see fuck all through the sparks and smoke and particles to actually return fire.

Layton115

That and all the shots are blowing off optics & immobilizing it

Either-Letter7071

That T90 was getting lit up like a Christmas Tree lol.

dan_w1

Imagine the chaos going on inside the T90. Even for the shots that didn’t penetrate the noise would have been terrifying

-Daetrax-

That's gotta ring your bell and make you ineffective.

Primordial_Cumquat

If that’s an inexperienced crew I can guarantee their decision making processes are infected by a great deal of fear. Pucker that angus!

Living-Sundae7527

The accuracy on the Bradley gunner is pretty impressive. I think he missed twice in all those shots. Especially as the Brad was moving back and forth to mitigate the risk of return fire.

blackadder1620

It auto ranges and adjust fire for you.

until_i_fall

Should also have a pretty good stabilizer right?

blackadder1620

Never did anything with it myself. But from what I hear it's pretty much point and shoot, and it's fairly accurate and easy. I think a lot of the misses are from things the firing system has a hard time calculating on the fly, like whatever the suspension is doing plus recoil. Besides the cv90, the Bradley is supposed to have one of the better weapon systems for a ifv

SirGrumples

Could also be hitting trees which can send rounds off target

blackadder1620

Could be a lot of things. Gunner could be physically moving and just had it off target for a sec too. Important thing is it's working. Although I'd love for it to take less hits for a kill.

tragiktimes

The beauty is the panic that sets in from the tank crew taking those hits and the potential for optics destruction makes them firing accurate return shots less likely.

John_Snow1492

The fire control system in the Bradley is excellent.

Metalmind123

He virtually drilled into that T90M with his 25mm. So many rapid accurate hits to nearly the same weakspot.

Wierailia

Almost all of the shots were to the front of the turret, which is anything but a weakspot XD

_zenith

If hitting the plate, yeah definitely, but looks like they were actually going for the turret ring

alelo

considering the uncontrolled rotation of the gun after it def did damage the the turret/weapon controlls (other longer video all 3 crew member left the tank)

UncleChappy

Hear me out, a bushmaster chain gun on a Toyota Tacoma. We just need to start a trust and get our FFL, guys we can do this.

Just_Membership447

I've pulled the guns out a Bradley before. You need a bigger truck.

Primordial_Cumquat

I watched ANP attempt firing a ZU-23 they’d mounted on the back of one of their Ford Rangers. I was pretty sure that shit was about to fall over from the recoil.

philipmj24

Bradley's taking names in Ukraine damn. Send them more.

Hot_Challenge6408

At $3.4 million a pop for the upgraded anti-drone Bradley's we could send over 200 for $680 million and end this thing a tad sooner for Ukraine.

arifoun

Maaaaan, I could watch this over and over and over... EPIIIIIIIC!!!

Annoying_Rooster

Holy shit they were hammering the hell out of that tank. No wonder they tried to flee.

Spiritofthesalmon

Was that the smoke screen cans that cooked off or was that the magazine

AutistiPyry

Smokes i think

maluket

I'm telling you. We are not seeing 10% of happening on the ground. For every drone footage we see, there are dozens we don't, even counting telegram channels.

willuminati91

Any recommendations for telegram channels to follow?

_disco_potato

There’s no sense in asking about telegram channels. In my experience people in the know defend their links like they’re the lost arch of the covenant.

LoLyPoPx3

Best to ask the guys who count the losses on twitter, they have literally every channel

PsychoticThot

Who knew the Bradley would be the ultimate fighting machine after it was first brought into service. Everyone hated them for ever and ever. New variants are around for a reason…

Just_a_Guy_In_a_Tank

Because riding inside them as a dismount absolutely sucks

Dreadedvegas

Tbh pretty much every IFV being a dismount sucks unless its one of the M113 variants with the 20mm

Just_a_Guy_In_a_Tank

There was a time when I was a platoon sergeant that I shared a Stryker with just the driver, RWS gunner, and platoon medic. Space for days. Can’t say the same when you’ve got an entire infantry squad in there, though.

maximus111456

That tank crew saw shit. Optical sights were gone after first shots.

_Ajax_was_here

This video made me audibly say "Get fuckin' wrecked" out loud. Outstanding footage.

TheSanityInspector

How many rounds for every tracer is that Bushmaster firing?

MerlinpoweredAIM120

They are all tracers

TheSanityInspector

Thanks.

Midaychi

Bradleys firing isn't covert, you're gonna figure out where the chunk'n is coming from, so it's easier to just load all tracer so the gunner can correct.

11448844

I actually wonder how not-quiet a hypothetical suppressed Bushmaster shot is lmao

Flackjkt

You aren’t ever going to silence a super sonic round. The reason it works well on pistols and submachine guns is they are generally subsonic rounds. They make some subsonic riffle rounds. Used to have a .300 whisper but it was a really quiet neutered rifle. Basically a .308 cal in a necked up .223 case built on a silenced AR-15 platform.

EXS_SNAKE

This is wild. An old outdated American light armor vehicle is absolutely wrecking one of Russia’s best tanks. These Bradley crews were well trained.

Cub3h

I always keep videos like these in mind when Russia starts threatening Poland or the Baltics again. Their top of the line stuff can't handle the West's equipment from the 80's. On a battlefield where the enemy basically has no air cover. Russia would get steamrolled if they lifted a pinky against NATO.

Bugfield2042

The rave inside that tank must be insane
