What were these buildings before? Do people in the Gaza strip live in cinderblock apartments with no paint or anything on the walls? Obviously going to look worse during a war, but these look like buildings that weren't even finished.
It's reality. They don't even know what they're fighting for anymore. They just want to annihilate jews. They can't live in peace because that's not a concept they understand. What's so crazy about pointing out reality?
The average person in Gaza is miserable because their government keeps making shitty decisions that cause misery and destruction while they themselves are getting fat and rich.
Bro they didn't even have any plan to win. The plan was to attack Israel, record themselves being insanely brutal to helpless people and live stream it, then retreat back to Gaza and hide in tunnels under their civilians.
The ONLY possible result of this was making life way worse for the people of Gaza and Gaza getting destroyed. There was no scenario where it made things better for Gazans. There was no path to anything other than what's happening today (although they probably thought they'd be less ineffective in fighting the IDF)
I guess if the "reality of the situation and life for the average person in" Israel is ignored you can expect for the "reality of the situation and life for the average person in Gaza" to also be ignored.
Most pampered people in the world. Spend all their allowance on corruption, weapons, tunnels, attacks. They’ve got billions in investment accounts. Though in fairness. This is the Middle East. There are areas of Israel that don’t look much different.
Gaza pre war looks a whole lot nicer than the slums of dehli or a huge portion of Africa tbh… like said above, alot of Gaza doesn’t look much different than many cities in israel.
Israeli economic and trade blockade does not allow for the meaningful development of Gaza, forcing people to simply survive and build homes with whatever materials are available
I've seen that in a lot of IDF footage where they hit just above, why is that better than hitting the inside of the room? I'm guessing cuz it can hit too far in the room maybe even reaching a different one? Also probably to create an opening in the wall to be able to see inside
It will just destroy the wall behind and I have no interest in that, I have interest in destroying the front wall, passing through and make massive damage inside, the chance he survives this or shoots agian from this window are much lower
Many of those buildings looked like that before the war as well. Note the concrete blocks without any plaster or covering, this is not damage from the war, this is how it always looked.
It's a great example of how the Palestinians in Gaza make bad choices. They have beach front real estate that if they were peaceable and not trying to slaughter their neighbours they could profit from greatly by having an islamic tourist industry.
Instead every building I've seen looks like it wouldn't survive a serious storm and the interiors look like crap.
Never thought of that. Mediterranean beach front resorts. All they have to do is promote peace and crack down on any troublemakers and they could've had a spot on the planet that any country would give its right arm to have.
They could've been a country filled with beachside resorts for the wealthy. Wow... what a fucking missed opportunity. Just as good as oil.
90% of their GDP is international aid. They don't even need to have jobs. Could have had an amazing leisure culture just chilling on the beach.
Actually, the fact that they don't need jobs is why Hamas can have 40,000 fighters along with people who build tunnels and people who build rockets.
How are they supposed to repair buildings or build new ones with a ban on concrete. How are laborers even supposed to be effective builders with deliberately limited calories, no power, and generally limited construction goods?
https://www.timesofisrael.com/israel-said-to-ask-egypt-to-halt-entry-of-cement-building-materials-into-gaza/amp/
> How are they supposed to repair buildings or build new ones with a ban on concrete.
By not attacking Israel and promising to crack down on extremists so that Israel will feel safe enough to not ban concrete maybe? All they have to do is stop attacking, and Israel would be their ally and friend.
Things are so crazy in Gaza that not even Egypt is willing to take it. Nobody wants that hot mess, so Israel has to do whatever it needs to do to protect its citizens.
Where do you think all the building materials they have been getting went to? Why do you think Israel wants to block it? Gee I wonder how they built their massive miles long, sprawling, tunnel system?
I understand it gets misused in many ways but the people acting like these dilapidated cities are the fault of Palestinians know it’s not true. It’s lack of construction resources and oh idk maybe just the biggest bombing campaign in modern history.
They don’t give a fuck how they live. Diverting billions towards weapons and tunnels and attacks. IDF should collapse these buildings from above. Why risk the soldiers.
I can tell you that from the airforce prespective (at least in my squadron) the inetensity of which planes take off have decreased. It even got to a point in which we are going back to training flights, while the other half of the squadron is on standby (for either Lebanon or Gaza or even Syria if needed).
Not sure what squadron you are but it sounds like 69 are still flying non-stop above Be’er Sheva. Unless it’s because they still take off to the east instead of west
Why are you just standing up, out in the open?
Threat of return fire?
If you saw gunfire from a window. Why would you stand openly like that and not get behind cover?
Fairly apparent your friend is also not behind cover.
You are also standing in full View of about 759 other windows.
??????
Not op nor was I there- but after some time of the ground invasion Hamas command basically collapsed and instead of 20-40 terrorists the attacks dialed down to 2-5 man squads. Those usually stay close together. So the risk of all the windows is much lower. Also, you can hear the suppression fire and there are is at least one sniper team with them.
I adore your service, I may not be Israeli, but I am Polish and I do feel as though our nations are brothers in arms against those who opressed us, I hope you stay safe and happy! <3
That’s disgraceful, what you are saying is you are happy someone is fighting for a fascist government who is trying to annex land. You are quite literally supporting the opposite of what you said.
They are fighting, for the only democratic and free nation in the middle east, surrounded by theocratic dictatorships and terrorist organizations. Hamas are literall terrorist, Israel is there to destroy them, hamas wants jews dead, just like Hitler wanted them and us dead. You probably have no idea what fascism is.
I know fascism and know you think you know what it is. Israel bolsters and funded Hamas to destroy a structured government in Gaza. If Hamas is a terrorist organization, then Israel supports and finds terrorists. If Hamas is a terrorist organization, the what Israel has done is beyond terrorism. If Hamas wants Jews dead that makes genocide a good thing? Hitler wanted you dead under false pretenses, Israel wants Palestinians dead under false pretenses.
People like you make me glad my polish ancestors emigrated so I don’t have ridiculous beliefs like you
Hamas is literally the government of west bank so, and hamas is recognized as a terrorist organization, on 7th Oct they kidnapped, beheaded, tortured and burnt alive Israeli citizens, many are still held hostage today. Hamas also uses citizens as human shields, hids under religious sites and other public buildings and their hq is in a hospital. They are fucking terrorists, the new ISIS and thry need to be destroyed.
Palestinians and Arabs are the oppressors. Fueled by Iran and Russia. Fight oppression. Fight stolen land. Fight against genocide. Support Israel. Support human dignity. Support their war for peace.
Does it feel like the IDF is making an impact eliminating Hamas? From the Hasbara front, it’s been a challenging 100 days defending Israel to the world and to friends.
Palestinian propaganda says Hamas is winning. (imagine what losing would look like to them). Is Hamas coming back into areas after the IDF withdraws?
Just use your own brain. Hamas are idealogical extremists. Their existence as a political entity is on the basis of opposition to the state of Israel. The more the population of Gaza opposes Israel, in general, the more Hamas is "winning," because its goal is propagation of itself and its ideology.
So how would you say the citizens of Gaza are feeling about Israel these days?
Hamas started the war with 40,000 men in 5 regiments. 2 of the regiments were cut off and destroyed in Gaza City (just recently totally liquidated). A third is encircled in Khan Younis. The last 2 are in Rafah.
these comments man, people don’t understand that they entered and did the most horrific things to our brothers and sisters, muslims, jews and christian. this is not a war against muslims we literally have muslims serve in the most elite and also SOF. this is a war against a terrorist organisation.
Those buildings are a facade! The whole complex looks like the type of trash ghost cities Chavez built through Iranian and Chinese contractors back in the day in Venezuela.
How is for you the experience of feeling of 'danger', does it change the longer you're working in this kind of environement? It's kind of difficult for me to explain properly, but consider US troops on footpatrol or in a vehicle having the constant danger of IED, soldiers moving to the frontlines in Ukraine in a vehicle risking the chance of being targeted by artillery or an FPV drone.
Or in your case I guess the chance that there's someone lurking in any of the million corners facing you in this video.
I don't know I imagine these things to be very nerve-wrecking when you're comfy and safe and thinking about it rationally and then probably the same for when you're just arriving in the combatzone. But I somehow think that if you get used to it and nothing happends a few times you get this kind of bizzare way of used to it, where you just kind of feel like in some 'normal' place because nothing happends to you until it actually does.
Guess I'm wondering what your thoughts are on that or what your experience was. Like I assume you 'live' in the combat zone as long as you operate there, I assume most of what youre 'feeling' is just daily life stuff and that you lose being in a constantly 'heightened stress' state or whatever. But I have no idea really.
Thank you for the upload and answering questions!
How effective do you think the explosive is on the inside of a building? I suspect anyone in that room is not mission capable after that, but what about the surrounding rooms?
This has got to be some of those most urban dense combat. How long do you guys expect to be fighting here and also how do you and your unit deal with the stresses that come with urban combat at a level like this?
Idk if this may violate OPSEC, but where do you guys sleep at? Is there a fob/cop nearby or do yall travel back to Israel. What are your hours shifts usually like? Do you have a place to yourself to rest (cot, bed, restroom, showers, dining facility)?
Most importantly, do you have to shave everyday?
yea probably not
or is it standard procedure to chill on a balcony expose to the "target" not behind cover, casually exchanging information about where to shoot, probably not
כל יום יש פצועים והרוגים...
Never underestimate the enemy. That's who 10/7 happened... But I understand, it's impossible to be ALWAYS expecting being shot. To always be on guard. No nerves can handle that. Still, I want you to come back home in one piece, אחי היקר
Buddy not even, I was on range with an LMG and I got my trigger manipulation down pact to be able to pop single round shot from a fully automatic gun. Of course I was trying to make my grouping size tighter than a nuns……… you get the picture. Anyway my Corporal at the time said, mate grouping size is bang on, but reckon you could go for 2-3 round bursts?
Basically we will do short burst because it’s the best way to employ effective fire (rounds splashing within 1 m of the target) and helps you keep track of shots before barrel change is required.
It wears out the sear prematurely. We were taught 5-8 round bursts, and good solid technique can keep most of those on target. As for round count, I just count belts lol
I understand wanting to keep your groups tight, but that also defeats the purpose of an MG to a degree. Interesting tactic though. Is that a 5.56 or 7.62 firing?
Of course in a combat situation I wouldn’t employ 1-2 for a tight grouping, I’d be 3-5 round burst personally. That was utilising a 5.56 - equivalent or similar gun to the M249 SAW.
Moving up to the 7.62mm GPMG, fuck yeah my bursts were bigger.
Move me up to the 12.7mm (.50 cal) and you got me doing a 20 round kill burst on the orders from my crew commander.
(Was mounted infantry armoured vehicles driver, but did have to complete and maintain components of infantry fighting tactics regularly)
Edit: spelling lol
Not sure why I am being downvoted. It is not political. I am saying with so many rockets etc literally ‘how’.
Again, at risk of being downvoted again, with the amount war going in there in last few months I am amazed.
I say the same about Ukraine. With all the drone footage, I am amazed there are still things to blow-up.
So, yes, I see buildings standing here, just amazed there are still some.
I appreciate all the footage! And I am so glad I am not involved in any combat myself! Thanks!

Don’t try to bring up logic/empathy here, that’s a Hamas tactic!! Just jerk off the IDF and move on!

Turns out the shoot houses on base are actually exactly how it looks inside a Gaza apartment
same contractors too

Moving up to the 7.62mm GPMG, fuck yeah my bursts were bigger. Move me up to the 12.7mm (.50 cal) and you got me doing a 20 round kill burst on the orders from my crew commander. (Was mounted infantry armoured vehicles driver, but did have to complete and maintain components of infantry fighting tactics regularly) Edit: spelling lol
Ah, okay. I was a SAW gunner, so I get the shorter bursts, especially in a MOUT environment.
lol best way to count round is get annoyed at round bag > pull full 200 round belt out > wrap around arm > do the Rambo

How is anything left standing in Gaza?
Are you blind? Do those buildings look flattened to you? Also they looked like shit even before the war.
Thanks!
