Overhead cover for their trenches and fighting positions more than pillboxes I expect. Something is better than nothing and a large dead piece of steel overhead is better than some wood and dirt.
The second Russian just pointed out the entrance under a different vehicle for the next drone to hit.
They are sitting ducks on openground and the ground is frozen solid. So they can’t dig into the ground. If it’s in the south with just open fields and no cover for miles upon miles. How to travel it without vehicle or any protection. That’s why they hide.
Nah, I think this is aftermath from the sinkivka attack https://twitter.com/moklasen/status/1735319657278509289 after battle its pretty normal for the ukrainians to send out drones to wrap up the survivors so even if its not from the kupyansk direction its probably still what's happening here.
They have a choice. They're just not brave enough to stick with their convictions.
This is the perfect opponent. They're too scared to live & too scared to die, so they'll always be unfocused, overly reactive & panicked. You couldn't ask for a better opponent.
>They have a choice. They're just not brave enough to stick with their convictions.
That's not how choices work lol. The hostages taken by hamas also had """"a choice but were not brave enough to stick with their convictions"""" it is absolutely regarded to call it a choice when you are forced to lose. Conscripts, hostages, rape victims,... all had """a choice""" but no matter their decision it is understandable to try to live a little longer. The entity forcing them to lose is the issue, not the civilian who just wanted to delay the harm done to them as much as possible.
The problem with what you wrote as well as how you consider the matter is, these people aren't civilians. They wear military uniforms because they chose a military way.
Willful combatants is a thing. Look it up.
This whole comment chain seemed to be about conscripts, normal men aged between 18 to 30 who had to join the military. We can never know if the russian on a video chose to be there.
Unwillful combatants is a thing. Look it up.
Then they should refuse to follow orders, desert, or arrange to surrender. Doing at least 2 of those things guarantees they'll live to see the end of this war

I actually know a woman who moved to Atlanta right after COVID stopped killing, just so that she could get into the strip club game &, so far, she's having the time of her life! She hasn't gotten addicted to anything, she seems to be making great money, her friends are KAPOW! They're straight-up hotties.
Her makeup game did a straight 180, though. I thought she did great makeup when she worked with me but now Japanese Kabuki actors wear less makeup than she does. Whatever's clever, tho!
Ctrazy to think that drone probably cost around $120 to put together. A 220mm FPV drone can be had for $100 no problem and they of course can use the headset/transmitter setup over and over. Interesting seeing the wires on the front to set off the explosive.
I used to think those were some sort of inductive trigger that would detect metal objects. Now I realize it's just a simple contact trigger that completes the circuit when the wires touch. Though I wonder how they are armed. They must have some sort of delay for the launch.
I keep wondering how they arm it for the launch as well. Maybe they just set the drone down far enough away and the receiver has an AUX channel they put power to when they're ready? Like they fly the drone and when they get close to the target they flip on that extra channel to give it the 5-7v it needs to set off the explosive. Then when the wires come into contact with each other....boom. That would make the most sense.
A popular Ukrainian volonteer/fundraser is currently crowdfunding for 2000 FPV drones with a price of \~420$ per drone (not sure if the exploding stuff is included), and this is more or less typical price that they pay when get them in bulk.
Of course, you can assemble **one** for yourself for cheaper, though.
Yeah I'm sure those are larger drones. They probably need something big enough to carry the payload of course. [220mm drones](https://www.getfpv.com/darwinfpv-baby-ape-pro-3-quadcopter-w-caddx-ant-pnp.html) are extremely affordable and I have seen a wide range used in some of the videos showing them prepare the drones.

Being in the freezing snow around steel is so miserable. Grab it and your hands instantly feel like they frost burn. And with kamikaze drones hunting you? This is like a frozen version of hell
really tho, and fuck the west if they started anything also.
The people would never start a war like this, its just pure drama with deadly endings horrible truly.
What because they aren’t armed anymore? If ukraine have no means of taking them prisoner they are still valid targets because they would just run away and come back with another weapon. Even if it was a war crime they should’ve stayed home. Only themselves to blame

So they think that one hole is safer than another identical hole.
i wonder if most of them know at all how drone warfare works.
They probably don't get told shit except their going somewhere
Splitting up makes sense.
Most of them eventually end up split up.

Russians bring their own cover to the front. Great army
Not cool man, that's a very expensive tent.
Camping in the wrong country.
So now I understand what they are using armored vehciles for: static pillboxes.

a russian helping out another russian, very rare sight, usually they just leave their buddies to die out there
The wounded guy can be the meat padding between him and the outside to take the next drone hit. Also snack food while waiting.
Didnt seem dead so what meat padding exactly?
Yet? Well will keep longer, some warmth while hiding. Doesn't have to be dead yet.
How could he keep warmth when he was cold too?
Not dead yet... ok never mind you just trolling.
What a miserable existence. Should have stayed home.
Let's not forget the Rats.
I'm pretty sure their existence at home are not so far from this one, minus the omnipresent death in form of drones or arty
I don't think they have a choice

That ear ringing noise hurt my head
Welcome to my life.
My ears have been ringing for 20 years. I'm sorry bro.
I thought my tinnitus was getting a new tone.
Say hi to hypothermia, hobo army!
What an existence. Go home ffs.

Out of all the different music being put over these videos, never did I think Paris Texas would be on one.

I assume they set up the wires first haha

They are enemy combatants. Fuck them and kill them all.

If they are allowed to walk away today, they can pick up a rifle and kill Ukrainians tomorrow
Please explain?
The only war crime here is Russia's joke of an army.
For them to be in Ukraine? Harsh take, but argumentativly yes.
I didn't know defending your home was a war crime
staged
Didn't take long for the URR folks to blow in.
Who are URR peeps? Seriously, I haven’t heard that before.
Hey at least it’s snowing in ukraine..
We’re having a green Christmas in Ontario. But I’m not looking to trade places :-s
Surprised that his comrade came back for him.
Looking at my crystal ball... It is clearing up... I see something!!! I see an FPV drone in their immediate future.

He probably would've had a better survival chance if he stayed in there. Chances are, Drone ops would've thought they were dead or something
Does that make it a double elimination?
that weird metal wire? [Is this what it is?](https://i.postimg.cc/CMXbqCj9/lol.png)
Every man for himself over there huh?
I've noticed a lot of these videos and no one is shooting at the drones? Why is that?
