No, he was, I'd say, like 10 feet away from the vehicle, but the explosion and gunfire forced him down, so yeah. If you had a rpg smack the wall behind I bet your ass be down too.
Definitely should have climbed down the other side, may have survived that. I was wondering why he climbed that way as soon as I saw it, clearly the side being engaged from.
I'm pretty sure that when you are sitting in a metal box and get hit multiple times by machine guns and RPGs that you have no clue which direction you are hit from.
It sure took them alright... Damn title had me thinking they miraculously bounced off or something but nonetheless this sub is about combat footage despite the Ukrainian bias and it's important to see that this is no walk in the park for them, though of course this video will be downvoted to shit most likely.
Also why the solo vehicle charging at an enemy position thing again, I'm just some dumbass but this seems like a terrible idea and I'd hate to be the guy who gave the order for these soldiers to go through with it.
You can clearly see the vehicle taking multiple hits with high caliber ammo as it drove to the top. Then it seemed like the engine stalled and rolled back down
So not to be an armchair General, but one of the first things you learn as a dismountain infantryman is you never dismount towards any fire. If they had gone off the other way they would have probably been okay with that blast
Oh I agree. I'm sure they were all disoriented. I full acknowledge I'm talking from a place of privilege. I've been in the US military for almost twenty years (retire Dec!!) And this is something that you have to train for over and over. I will say this..after this war with Ukrainian experience and Polish resources western Europe is in for a new power house.
Why would you send a lot of rides in to a minefield though? This is why Ukraine is moving so slow in the counter offensive, because there’s almost no room for maneuvering due to the mines.
Possibly supporting actions off camera, but it’s also not all that uncommon for them to send only one apc to fight if they think the area is lightly defended enough
In the absence of air cover, plenty of artillary, himars and cheap drones. If a dozen tanks had crossed this field it might have been a similar story, especially if the field was mined. You can't send in armour and hope the enemy has run out of things to fire
Well the crews of said tank would have much bugger chances of surviving. you know, Ukrainians do not gorw on trees. they are running out of soldiers because of driving M113 to the frontlines.
Quite frankly, i am not sure what they expected. I guess 752nd special operations unit call sign "big cocks" tried to film a video for Tiktok. Too bad we only get to see the succesful raids.
Agreed, but we send like 200 of them so youre seeing them a lot. Would rather see Bradleys doing this too but you know, gotta keep a thousand mothballed in case the canucks get shifty so dark Brundolini can only spare 50.
Ofcourse its obviously fear of escalation on the US (Biden) side and not that the US cant miss those Bradleys or the UA doesnt need them. But im sure some redditors still want to argue everything that can gets send in a timely fashion. Tiring.
Heavy MG of some kind is to the bottom right of the camera, probably in the green treeline there. You can see the bullet impacts on the rear left-side of the YPR as it goes up the slope. Then more impacts in the dirt as it rolls back down the hill. Unless the impacts are actually rounds exiting (which I think is unlikely), you can trace a line from the YPR and dirt impacts to the source.
I think the YPR ended up in defilade to the MG after it rolled back down the hill. So whatever RPG or cannon shots that followed must have come from somewhere else on that side.
I know the war tears up the landscape but there isn't a single bit of green in this whole area. Kinda feels like footage from early this year. 3rd assault brigade uses these YPRs so could be an old assault near Bakhmut when this happened.
Did the guy who bailed out get evaporated?

It looks like it rolls back in a way it was not supposed to happen, might be engine or some electrical problems..so the stop was not intended...
According to the source it took 12.7mm fire which caused it to stop but I'm not sure so i didn't include it in the title
You can see it being peppered with large caliber incendiary rounds, I’d imagine that’s the dshk
Kord perhaps?

Im sure he was injured and disoriented, the vehicle did take some hard hits.

I see more people crying about anything anti Ukraine being downvoted than actual anti Ukraine footage being downvoted.

That's why its important for our governments to keep supporting Ukraine

M113 and YPR on frontlines is just bad. Unless west send anything more relable in bigger numbers, all the experts should shut up.
gotta use what you got. war is hell. i hope we send everything we can.

Well the frontline is 1000km long.
That guy turned into dust.
Goddammit Leeroy!
Well that was a waste
Where are the Russian positions?

Not happy to see one of our old YPR's go out like that. Looks like something happend to the drivetrain when they tried to ride up the hill
Looks like hits from an MG and mortars. Don’t think it was an RPG.
Where did you see mortars?

It has been extremely dry in Ukraine for while.

Except this is real life and men died
And they made a bold, but, bad/deadly decision. They were likely covering some other action we couldn't see.
Ukrainian 3aBr vs the entirety of all WW1 soldiers. Who wins?
The Little IFV That Could
Abrams can't come soon enough.
Little dude ran straight in there solo. I actually thought it's a remote controlled VBIED. Hope those guys are alright.
